Why We Need A New 9/11 Commission
An editorial just appeared at OpEd that outlines in a fairly lucid way some of the reasons we need another investigation of 9/11. If you are a veteran of 9/11 Truth, much of the editorial will be familiar to you; however, newbies should definitely read it, for a brief overview of some issues.
Some of you may also be interested in this section toward the end of the editorial:
"Dennis Kucinich is now the Chair of the new Subcommittee on Domestic Policy under the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Prior to the 2006 elections in a piece for Truthdig, Dennis Kucinich stated the following:
'I will not prejudice with any criticism or charges any oversight hearings of any committee I may chair in the next Congress. However, I do know that the American people still have unanswered questions about 9/11, WMDs, the abandonment of international law and the Geneva Conventions, the war in Iraq, the White House Iraq Group, the Rendon propaganda machine, Afghanistan, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, the Pat Tillman case, Iraq war casualties, the missing $10.8 billion in Iraq reconstruction funds, the human and economic toll of the war, rendition, wiretapping, domestic spying, and plans for an attack on Iran'
Now is the time to press Dennis Kucinich to take the lead in his new subcommittee to start the re-investigation process. You can call his office at (202) 225-5871, fax him at (202) 225-5745, or write him at 2445 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, DC 20515."

the one part I definitely do not agree with
"4. How is it that a videographer just happened to have his video camera focused at just the right place on the North Tower when Flight 11 flew into it? This deserves some detailed inquiry."
I know: Some will say this makes the entire piece "disinfo". I choose to believe the author was simply misguided on this point. It does seem incredible that the Naudets were in position to capture Flight 11, but, no, it's not a conspiracy, and it's definitely not worth "detailed inquiry".

Re: WMDs, the abandonment of international law... and so on:
This list by Kucinich is remarkable. I think he is quite brave to mention these items. Look it over again, and see if you agree. Note that 9-11 gets first place on this list.
I say, if he sticks with this agenda at least, he has my support -- and my prayers too, to tell the truth.
This fact too is not insignificant: "Dennis Kucinich is now the Chair of the new Subcommittee on Domestic Policy under the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform."
I wish him well.
yes
Kucinich will never win the party nomination, but he could be useful, like Waxman, as a back room operator. Keep up the pressure.
Let's
not forget the 2.3 TRILLION missing from the DOD,and the damage the patriot act has done.to our constitution.
it's still about following the money
Is it a sign of how apocalyptically cynical we have become that $2.3 TRILLION does not get the attention of more than one news outlet (CBS), and even then not for more than one day?
What can one say about a gaggle of politicians who will not fight to locate $2.3 TRILLION? It's enough to force the sturdiest among us into despair.
The timing of that announcement (9/10/01) is still, to my mind, one of the great "coincidences" of 9/11.
I would add, as well
that approaching politicians for action on 9/11 Truth may have more success if they are approached regarding "fiscal" issues surrounding 9/11. The $2.3 TRILLION is one. The other biggy is this, from the 9/11 Commission Report:
“To date, the U.S. government has not been able to determine the origins of the money used for the 9/11 attacks. Ultimately the question is of little practical significance” (172).
Uh-huh. Little practical significance.
Look at the wording
Kucinich just wants to produce some better answers to some 9/11 questions. That's it. He wants to maintain the bipartisan coverup by taking the lead and squashing "conspiracy theories."
He wants a cleaner cover up.
He does not want to expose the real criminals in this government. Kucinich does not rock the boat, which should be obvious by now.
In other words, I'll believe it when I see it. He could have put in Articles of Impeachment at any time over the last five years, as the brave and heroic Cynthia McKinney did. Kucinich did not even show up for a minute at McKinney's 9/11 hearings. What does that tell you?

You said, "Kucinich did not even show up for a minute at McKinney's 9/11 hearings. What does that tell you?"
Time will tell. We can't read his mind, but we can read his actions.
