9/11 Widows Keep on Asking the Tough Questions
9/11 Widows Keep on Asking the Tough Questions
February 12, 2007 -- When it comes to 9/11, America right now is divided between two camps, those who trust the official account of the attacks, and those who, well, have questions. It’s occasionally the case that the first camp will publicly denounce the second camp as a bunch of nutcases, and when this happens, it’s usually the rowdier section of Camp Two, the Loose Change, bullhorn-wielding, “death to the New World Order” crowd, that takes the most heat.
What tends to get ignored, however, is the quieter section of Camp Two, and especially a group of widowed mothers from New Jersey and New York who over the last six years have worked harder than just about anyone to protect the country from terrorism. Few people realize that had it not been for the tireless efforts of the “Jersey girls” – Mindy Kleinberg, Kristen Breitweiser, Lorie Van Auken, Patty Casazza, and Monica Gabrielle – not only would the 9/11 Commission never have happened, but there most likely never would have been any investigation into what was the worst loss of life on American soil since the Civil War. No inquiry into our failed military defenses, or the collapse of the towers, or just why it was that President Bush sat in that Florida classroom for a full seven minutes after the second plane struck. No scientific reports, no effort to discover what went wrong, no hearings of any kind. No attempt to figure out the details of the whole who, what, where, when and why of the attacks. And again, what few people realize is that today, six years later, the Jersey girls are still fighting the exact same fight they were fighting on September 12, 2001, and for the same reason: to keep you, and me, and everyone we know, safe from terrorism...

(Agreed. Unfortunately, it assumes the myth of al-Qaeda and is barely LIHOP--which is the big problem with "9/11 Press for Truth"--but that's no reason to avoid it. We should definitely show our support. Every bit of pressure helps.)
THE PETITION:
To: U.S Congress; Press/Media
We, the undersigned, demand the immediate declassification and release of all transcripts and documents relating to the July 10, 2001 meeting that took place between former CIA Director George Tenet and then National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice. It has been alleged that this urgent and out-of-the-ordinary meeting was called to discuss the increasingly dire warnings of an imminent al Qaeda attack within the U.S.
Given that much of the July 10, 2001 meeting has already been made public in Bob Woodward’s newly released book, “State of Denial”, it is unacceptable to continue to keep these documents and transcripts hidden from the American public’s view.
In addition, we again call for the declassification and release of both the redacted 28 pages of the Joint Inquiry Into The Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001 (JICI) and the CIA Inspector General’s report, “CIA Accountability With Respect To The 9/11 Attacks”.
The disastrous nature of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks warrant the release of all of this information so that the American public may learn what its government did or did not do to protect them. Had this nation been properly warned of the looming and imminent terrorist threat, life saving choices could have been made that day.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned

I think 911PFT is a great introduction
I actually happen to think that it's a good thing with a film that isn't as "in your face" as a lot of the others. Some people just can't get their heads around the idea that the government could do something this evil, even though you show them all the historical precedents.
I think that no matter how much you trust the government, you you gotta be at least left with the feeling that we don't know the real story of 9/11, and the case is open after watching 911PFT. And it's at least a good start to get people to that point.
911 PFT clearly shows the
911 PFT clearly shows the government cover-up of the events and shows the pakistan connection which can mean nothing other than MIHOP (CIA is funding and controlling pakistan ISI, this means they would have MADE it happen as opposed to letting it happen). How is that not good enough? I think it's a great film that opens up a lot of doors with a lot of people.
No argument
I don't mean to discount PFT. I was referring more to what was implied in the Petition. Believe me, I'm all for whatever gets people to open doors & question the Official Myth--and doesn't resort to wild speculation.
For example, solar rollar suggested this 10-minute video this morning, which I hadn't seen before. It's a very powerful intro that's impossible to debunk:
The very beginning of the 911 coverup - live on TV on 911
This video illustrates the coverup that started the morning of 911, live on TV

Jersey Girls
Without them (and Paul Thompson), GWB & Co. would still be stonewalling on an investigation.
I accept that others like Alex Jones, Loose Change, 9/11 Mysteries etc. have helped to build a mass movement. The issue is now so mainstream that to make further progress, we need to use the best available tool. 911pressfortruth engages emotionally and intellectually and is an inspiring story.
In the UK, LC2 is being used like a vaccination against the truth. MSM know they have to run the story, so they're trying to discredit it by highlighting the most outlandish speculations.
Wow, this is a really
Wow, this is a really interesting comment from one of the Jersey Girls:
“There are just so many unanswered questions,” says Van Auken. “I would say you need roughly 400 hours of research to graduate from 9/11 kindergarten class. That’s why it’s so hard to keep people on the same page, because they’re coming at this issue from a million different angles. A friend might tell them about building 7, or they might watch Loose Change on the internet, or they’ll say, ‘Hold it a second, you can’t make cell phone calls from an airplane.’ And then suddenly a little alarm bell goes off in their brain, and they say, ‘Wow, we don’t know the whole story about this.’ That’s all it takes, the little alarm bell, and then, bam, welcome to the place we’ve been living in for the last six years.”
Lorie Van Auken
This is an incredible quote. There are a couple of shots in PFT in which Ms. Van Auken makes a somewhat cryptic statement, but the look on her face is pure "I know what the deal is here."

Truthing doesn't hurt the feelings of relatives
This is a great article to show people who use the "it hurts the feelings of the relatives" argument against questioning the official account of the events.
Bob McIlvaine's comment alone says it all: "I'm so pissed off at this government, because of this cover-up."
Refining your pitch
I think we all should strive to be better communicators.
What you typically run into when speaking to people about 9/11 Truth, Smoking et . . . is that they instantly throw up a defensive shield. They have put alot of energy into maintaining their false sense of reality and instinctively defend it.
Sometimes when delivering the message, we interpret their defenses as a personal attack upon us. Their defenses certainly sound like attacks . . . They are not.
I typically counter with, "I'm not trying to convert you to my beliefs . . . I'm telling you what I now believe to be the truth . . . I don't know exactly what happened but I know that the official story is wrong . . . I like you believed the official narrative of 9/11 (true in my case) the day of September 11, 2001 but began to doubt it soon after I discovered evidence that I could not ignore . . . . . I don't expect you to believe what I believe but if you are interested in seeing the evidence and alternative arguments that I have discovered and that I trust then I would be glad to point you in the right direction. . .
When people say that 9/11 Truthers are "fruitcakes" . . . you are making a mistake if you take this personally. This is not about you . . . . this is their internal "spin doctor" trying to maintain equilibrium.
I also state that if this were just about me I probably would sit back and watch (ala George Carlin) but because I have children who will inherit this mess I am compelled to speak out.
We are the mass media . . . . we simply must take responsibility.
Good night and don't believe in luck
9/11 Press for Truth is an excellent tool for prying the door open.
Let people express their anger/grief to you. We're all starved for one on one attention and if you listen to people you've got a chance to have them listen.
It's a natural byproduct of cognitive dissonance
and perfectly understandable from a psychological standpoint. However, I point I make repeatedly is that NOT WANTING TO BELIEVE something doesn't make it UNTRUE (and the opposite is also true).
If anything 9-11 studies, discussions and research are an excellent way to introduce people into the world of academics, science and analysis.
It's a big subject, but I think you hit the nail on the head.
Reality got you down? Read the La Rochelle Times: http://www.rochelletimes.blogspot.com
Excellent points. We also
Excellent points. We also can get into a state where we loose ourselves in a missionary zeal, as if all can be saved if we an just convert this one person. This is a counter productove turn off, just like screaming "you're all sinners" is NOT going to convert a n emotionally well adjusted person to Christianity. (at least not that type, that way)
When talking to someone I don't know about 911, I try to stick to incontrovertable facts(waiting 441 days for a murder investigation is suspicious) we can all agree on then try to find common ground with the message THEY should research more and come to their own conclusions.
Let's sound less like Jehovah's Witnesses; no one likes to be prosethelitized. That said, there are times you KNOW you are being attacked and while they have a right to their feelings, you do not have to take abuse. Reminding them of this and your willingness to listen civillly is also appropriate.
Impeachment. Accountability. A better world.
converting the heathens
does this mean I should stop banging people over the head with a rolled up newspaper and shouting, "wake up stupid?"
It would probably be for the
It would probably be for the best....;-)
Impeachment. Accountability. A better world.
Bozo is right! (man, that sounds funny)
There's an old saying - you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. How we begin to approach the unenlightened could make all the difference in how successful we are at getting our message across.
In fact, what is the best message to start with?
I do not believe the best way to approach someone is by giving your personal theory as to what happened and who was involved. After all, that's just speculation. The best way would be to express your doubts about the official story. Change the approach from "here's the truth as I believe it" to "here's why the official conspiracy theory doesn't add up."
After all, we must first raise doubts before we can expect people to seek truth. Once someone has doubts, they might very well seek the truth for themselves.
Agreed-- Be effective, not "right"
I've found that, in giving out videos and talking to people, you have to consider what will be the most effective, and give up on being "right".
People are extremely varied in the amount of paradigm shift they can take at any given moment. Go from where the person is at.
Who cares if 911PFT is more "mainstream" than other vids. If it targets a segment of the population that can't swallow movies like Loose Change, and gets them to question 911, that's a good thing.
Plus those widows carry great moral authority, their work gives great legitimacy to the movement.
Thanks for this Amanda.
Thanks for this Amanda.
Yes the Jersey girls have been asking questions for 5 years and in 10 years they will still be "asking questions". And no you don't need 400 hrs of research to attain kinder garden level understanding of 911!!! A few seconds to watch the entire buildings ( the 3 of them) thoroughly collapsing to dust is all it takes to get you to understand that no hijackers could have done it.
If they ( and 911truth.org and a lot of others) are indeed plants, as I too suspect, that would explain a lot. Like 911PFT dwelling on the "warnings" and the "Pakistani connection" while carefuly avoiding anything pointing to an inside job.
" And again, what few people realize is that today, six years later, the Jersey girls are still fighting the exact same fight they were fighting on September 12, 2001, and for the same reason: to keep you, and me, and everyone we know, safe from terrorism..."
From terrorism?
Or from knowing the real ugly truth?
Does anyone here deny it was terrorism?
What we need protection from is FALSE FLAG terrorism, and the mass manipulations ensuing therefrom.
It sometimes seems that even skeptics of the official story can become so conditioned by prevailing rhetoric that when they hear the word 'terrorist' used, they assume it can only be referring to Muslims.
The perpetrators of 9/11 intended--among other things--to terrorize the population, and that's just what they did. And they are still at large. (Please don't assume here that I am referring to 'al Qaeda'.)
United
We have the justifiable questions. We have the witnesses. We have a cause. The one thing we don't have other then major media coverage is unity.
Yes the Jersey girls have done alot for the truth,
but then again so have alot of others.
Why not UNITE? Remember there is power in numbers. Would love to hear comment on this.
Think about.Yes their are alot of 9/11 sites,some are good,some are'nt.
Let's assemble the best of the best? In one large voice.
Lets model ourselves after the internet
Millions of individual workstations broadcasting to each other. Only way they can stop that is if they stop the internet and they are trying to use their terror scare tactics here also . . . they want us to be afraid of child predators on the internet . . . . the child predators want us to be afraid of the child predators . . . like someone can reach out through my workstation and grab my kids . . . ironic . . . . I respect my kids common sense and have fostered their independence since their births.
I can protect them online but how do I protect them from Darth Cheney starting a nuclear war . . . doing the best I can as an infowarrior.
Type on brother's and sisters . . . we are seperate and we are united . . . . duality rules.
Link TV is having a fundraiser and is showing Iraq for Sale . . . FYI

When is this from?
Sorry...
On January 27th just minutes after Rep. and Presidential Candidate Kucinich said on stage at the Peace Rally that we must learn the truth about 9/11, Kyle F. Hence, Co-producer of 9/11: Press for Truth [see www.911pressfortruth.com] asked the Congressman to respond to the "report card' produced by two 9/11 widows.

A letter to Kucinich...
Dear Rep. Kucinich,
On January 27th, 2007, after an emotional appearance on the stage of the anti-war protest, you told Kyle Hence, Executive Producer of 9/11: Press For Truth, a documentary endorsed by the family members that fought for the creation of the 9/11 Commission, that you would be willing to speak with them about re-opening the investigation into the 9/11 attacks.
Here are email addresses to some of the family members concerned about this:

A response...
Dear Jon,
Thank you for writing to us concerning 9-11.
I will forward your information to the campaign.
Also I suggest that you follow up with the Congressional Office of Dennis Kucinich because if and when he conducts a public hearing, it would most likely happen in his capacity as Chair and as a U.S. Congressional Representative.

Thank you for following the work of Dennis Kucinich.
We appreciate your feedback.

Finally...
An answer to everyone's age-old question, "Why won't the Jersey Girls say "9/11 Was An Inside Job?"
The girls and I, we won’t jump to any conclusions until all the facts are in, but we do share many of the same questions they do, and we definitely share the basic view that we haven’t learned the whole truth about 9/11.
That being said, I don't think there is anything wrong with questioning why there is a cover-up on National TV.
Reasons For Cover-Up
1. Incompetence
2. Embarrassment (D.C. Officials with business ties to money used for 9/11)
3. Complicity
It seems #1 is their favorite. #3 is mine.
"So where is the oil going to come from?... The Middle East, with two-thirds of the world's oil and the lowest cost, is still where the prize ultimately lies."
Richard Cheney - Chief Executive Of Halliburton
Ah, Jon, you anticipated
Ah, Jon, you anticipated me!
The problem as I see it that if they keep framing the problem as "unanswered questions" they won't get any further. That refrain eventually got them the Ommission Report, bless their hearts, but how can they take it to the next level where it doesn't just sound like whining because no one is willing to expend energy to tie up inconsequential loose ends?
Isn't there a middle ground between "we still have questions" and "inside job?" Something like "The official story we've been given has been demonstrated to be patently false. It falls apart at many intersections. There is an enormous body of contradictory evidence that has been accumulated by citizen journalists and members of the alternative media. We demand the truth, and we call on responsible members of the mainstream media to finally DO THEIR JOB to follow the truth, wherever it leads, and let the chips fall where they may."
Well...
They admit that they "do share many of the same questions" as us. Since our biggest question is, "were elements of our Government complicit in the attacks", it's safe to say that is also one of theirs.
I think they did as you're asking in PFT. Not verbatim, but in the sum total of the film.
"So where is the oil going to come from?... The Middle East, with two-thirds of the world's oil and the lowest cost, is still where the prize ultimately lies."
Richard Cheney - Chief Executive Of Halliburton
I know, and I'm a fan of
I know, and I'm a fan of PFT, but it's time to ratchet up their rhetoric -- or else their questions will remain rehetorical.
As I wrote...
In this thread, "one of the problems people have with the 9/11 Truth Movement is the fact that we have already passed judgment. "9/11 was an inside job", "Elements of our Government were complicit in the attacks", etc... In America, you are innocent until proven guilty. That being said, there is a PLETHORA of information that exists that indicates if a real investigation were to take place, the conclusion would most assuredly be the same."
As much as we hate to admit the way America works, the REAL America (not the one created by past and current murdering fascists in D.C.), it is the truth.
Remember, it's not the crime that kills you (murdering 2,973+ people to enable fascist agendas), but the cover-up.
"So where is the oil going to come from?... The Middle East, with two-thirds of the world's oil and the lowest cost, is still where the prize ultimately lies."

Noise from the peanut gallery
noise, noise, noise . .
like dorothy and her red shoes we at anytime can get back to Kansas . . . our ruby slippers are our checkbooks.
lets fill Ron Paul's coffers and Dennis Kucinich's . . . hell . . . lets start a list . . . . give them the cash they need and then hold their feet to the fire . . . doesn't really matter if they become president . . . but it matters if we can get our leaders to start publicly asking the questions . .
again just my two cents
we don't need to re-invent the wheel, we just need to start driving!
"we don't need to re-invent
"we don't need to re-invent the wheel, we just need to start driving!"
Good way of putting it. Too many issues are less about needing new legislation, and more about the political will.
For instance corporations that misbehave can have their charters pulled. That is the law; a corporation is created by the state to limit liability in exchange for providing benefits to the state(jobs, services, infrustruture, whatever). If the corporation fucks up spectacularly(endangering lives, etc) you punish them by revoking their charter(I think the governors of states are the ones with this power).
The ONLY reason this does not happen is that politics have been comprimised by corporate money. So now you know any "what can we do?" handwringing by the powers that be over, say, Walmart -- is crap.
A simular reason is behind failure to investigate 911--we don't need more laws; we just need people to enforce the ones we've got!
Impeachment. Accountability. A better world.
Jon
Enough already!.......Let's put some teeth into this!
I want the truth!
We can discuss this till hell freezes over.........I don't want this to go on like JFK.

I don't disagree with you. I've said that on many ocassions. That "Heaven Forbid" 9/11 Truth turns into casual conversation over a beer.
"So where is the oil going to come from?... The Middle East, with two-thirds of the world's oil and the lowest cost, is still where the prize ultimately lies."
Richard Cheney - Chief Executive Of Halliburton
our bigest question is not "was our government complicit"
It is "who exactly knew what and who exactly did what to make 9/11 happen, and what exactly was it that happened?"
Obviously elements of our government were complicit in the attacks. Who else, not part of our government, was?
