The World Trade Center - September 26, 1998

It was Saturday night, September 26, 1998.

I just came from a mid-town Manahattan buffet with a couple of friends on the subway to the station stop below the towers, to pay a visit to the World Trade Center observation deck.

The night before, I watched the NY Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 6-1 to set the American League record for wins in a season.

And thats how it was.

Damn... Those buildings were so tall, giving me vertigo...

I shudder to think what it must have been like trapped up there...

I really liked those buildings

their zen-like clarity, the inconspicuous ornamental details, their symbolization of brotherhood. Never understood why some deemed them eyesores...

RIP Twin Towers, RIP innocent souls. We will see to it that your sacrifice will not have been in vain.
