Emotional Hit Peice - "The Falling Man"

I'm not sure if any of you have seen this film. It's a very emotion driven production but I decided to sit down and watch it. Normally I would put these films on and get busy doing various other things while mainly listening to the audio. I have seen too much of this video as it is. But as of late I have been actually watching and analyzing the footage. Paying extra attention to the details.

While watching this film I ran across several interesting cookies:
~ The testimony.
~ The images.
~ The emotional implants.
~ The Misinformation.

Here is the breakdown from the MySpace Bulletin I received publicizing this film.

The Falling Man is the title of a story about a photograph taken by Richard Drew at 9:41:15 a.m., on September 11, 2001. The story was written by Tom Junod and appeared in the September 2003 issue of Esquire magazine. Drew's photo shows a man falling from the World Trade Center during the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City. The subject was one of the people (dubbed "jumpers" by the press) trapped on the upper floors of the building who apparently chose to jump to a painless, instant death rather than die from the fire and smoke. At first, the faller was identified by Globe and Mail reporter Peter Cheney as being a man by the name of Norberto Hernandez, but when the family looked at the whole series of pictures (there were approximately a dozen images), it was clear that it was not him. The falling man was never proved to be Norberto Hernandez. Three other families claimed that he was their relative but after careful analysis of the photo this was disproved and the other families backed out.

"9/11: The Falling Man" became a documentary about the picture and the story behind it. The documentary, made by American filmmaker Henry Singer, was based on Junod's Esquire story. It made its debut on March 16, 2006, on the British television station Channel 4 broadcast. It later made its North American premiere on Canada's CBC Newsworld on September 6, 2006 and has been broadcast in over thirty countries in the world.

The powerful and controversial photograph provoked feelings of anger, particularly in the United States, in the immediate aftermath of the September 11 attacks. The photo ran only once in many American newspapers because they received critical and angry letters from readers who felt the photo was exploitative, voyeuristic, and disrespectful of the dead. This led to the media's self-censorship of the photograph, preferring instead to print photos of acts of heroism and sacrifice.

Drew commented about the varying reactions, saying, "This is how it affected people's lives at that time, and I think that is why it's an important picture. I didn't capture this person's death. I captured part of his life. This is what he decided to do, and I think I preserved that."

9/11: The Falling Man ends suggesting that this picture was not a matter of the identity behind the man, but how he symbolized the events of 9/11.

71:10.... watch as they pan over ....What do you see?
70:40.... the faint chants of "USA USA USA USA"
69:55.... Completed in 1975? What day exactly? Anyone.... September 11
68:22.... nice image there..... is that molten metal? I bet one of those firefighters could tell us.
65:00.... the expert from the New York Times
64:50.... the people in the lobby were burned by the fireball which went down the elevator shaft.
63:22..... temps were reaching 1,000 degrees....Centigrade
63:16.... see the white streamers coming through the shot.. something is falling and really pouring out alot of white smoke.... for the size of the debris... I bet thermite would look something like that.
61:30.... appears to be explosion going off well below fireball... possibly the plane
61:23.... Emotional cookie.... listen to that a couple times.... they really played that one up
60:50.... listen to Jack Gentul's testimony.
60:34.... Where does Elaine work?
60:10... Why was smoke coming through the vents?
60:05....What happened below them on the South tower?
60:10.... Why didn't she know a plane had hit? When was this explosion exactly? He says that she began helping people evacuate when the first plane hit.
Emotional testimony.... it really makes me sad and sick to my stomach. I really hate the people who did this
56:35.... before the buildings fell.... guy says.... "They're going to fall.... They're going to explode"
56:05... if you pause it here you can see the perfectness of the falling debris. The building was chopped up into perfect pieces. Square. The way this building was constructed and the way in which they say the building fell.... would not allow this. If they had analyzed these photos thoroughly they could have determined exactly where the structural failures had occurred in that debris and applied that to the rest of the structure to assist in creating an accurate analysis.
55:20... BOOM! "a third explosion which actually brought down the South tower"!!
54:40.... naming the Hydrocarbons
53:35... doors to roof were locked.... definitely made a difference.
50:25... this whole testimony is strange. Thomas McGinnes? was below crash zone and stayed there long enough to see people jumping. Why did they not get out? The narrator says the fire was working it's way down. I would have been franticly trying to escape. An airplane had just crashed above him and he just keeps telling his wife that "This is not good"?
47:35.... Sqibs
46:45... back at the AP newsroom.... in Rockafeller Center... go figure
46:13.... "I really like this one... It really hits you"...yes it does
45:05.... newsrooms across the country have these photos.... Still looking for that truck
42:00 ... they released the photo in an area which is regularly used to poll public opinion. Making average Americans angry! Passionate anger. Anger directed at far more than the paper. Emotional bombshell
36:30...? the Coroner said that nobody jumped?
36:00.... "There were just things about that day that you were not supposed to say... you were not supposed to see.... not supposed to talk about."
35:40... Dan Rather Reports that the Israelis put the button on Osama bin Laden
33:43... everything on the 76th floor had collapsed.
32:59.... just pause it here and give this a read! 1-800-GO NAVY
31:00.... F2.. The War on Terror Lives... is that the section name?
23:45.... "she didn't become dust"
I'm just amazed right now at the diligence of this media. They just keep digging and digging to get to the bottom of this mystery. The amount of time and effort it must have taken to find that falling man.
Ironic..... isn't it.

Very powerful.

Now let's take our lives into our own hands.... and let's get this country back!

Who are we? I know who we are not. We are not the fallen man.

I've only watched the first

I've only watched the first 17 minutes or so, but this doesn't seem like a hit piece to me. It may not pick up on clues of complicity, but that's not the same thing as a hit piece.

Just finished watching.

& I gave you one star simply for labeling this a hit piece.

Have to say this is not a hit piece by any stretch of the meaning. It's very emotional for a reason, it's a very emotional subject it deals with. Although I do find it curious that they never show any of the many photos of people standing where they claim the heat was so intense, the impact holes.

?

_Did you catch the part where Dan Rather reported that Israel were the ones to implicate bin Laden?
