Now that Rosie O'Donnell is trying to table it on The View, I guess we can talk about it here.
First, a news quiz: If, some time after the collapse of World Trade Center towers 1 and 2, a 47-storey office building in a major American city also came crashing to the ground, do you think you'd know about it?
Of course, you would.
But if I were to tell you that such an event actually did happen, could you name that building?
If you are like most North Americans, I'm guessing probably not.
In fact, the collapse of the Salomon Brothers Building, which was also known as WTC 7 and stood but two blocks away from ground zero, occurred late in the day on Sept. 11, 2001.
It remains one of the central anomalies in a day filled with anomalies, yet it was treated then, and remains today, at least in official annals, as an insignificant footnote.
Struck by no aircraft, and little debris, WTC 7 nevertheless had small fires mysteriously burning in several of its middle floors. Judging from photographs, one would assume those fires should have been easily contained.
Yet at 5:20 p.m., in a space of 6.5 seconds, or practically at a free-fall rate, WTC 7 collapsed perfectly into its footprint. It should have been big news, if only because it would have been the first steel-frame building in history to collapse due exclusively to fire. But for some reason, reporters gave it a wide berth.
Shortly after 9/11, when Associated Press published a timeline of events called A Stunning 48 Hours of News, WTC 7 was not mentioned at all. Neither was it in the government's official 9/11 report. And to this day, authorities have only issued an inconclusive draft report as to why the building fell.
Not everyone is so incurious, however. A host of researchers have busily gathered everything they could learn about that day, and WTC 7 in particular.
Though you're unlikely to have seen it, video of the collapse does exist (and can be found on the Internet). The footage exhibits the hallmarks of controlled demolition, including bursts of dust from what appear to be many tiny explosions and the curtain-like plummeting of the entire structure.
During the brief aftermath before WTC 7 disappeared into the memory hole, CBS anchor Dan Rather showed the video and said, "For the third time today, it's reminiscent of those pictures we've all seen too much on television before, where a building was deliberately destroyed by well-placed dynamite."
Many have concluded it was just that. Moreover, they discovered that WTC 7 had unusual tenants, including several floors devoted to each of the FBI, the CIA and mayor Rudy Giuliani's emergency headquarters. It was also home to a legal branch of the Security and Exchange Commission, which allegedly harboured evidence relating to a number of ongoing investigations of market malfeasance.
A PBS television documentary later showed the WTC's owner, Larry Silverstein, describing how he reacted that day: " 'We've had such terrible loss of life,' " he recalled saying, " 'maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.' And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse."
You can read into that what you may, just as you can with the fact that Silverstein's group had only acquired WTC six months earlier, for $3.2 billion, and bought insurance that for the first time specifically indemnified acts of terrorism. As of last report, Silverstein had collected $4.6 billion.
Finally, from the department of curiouser and curiouser, came another bombshell this year. Researchers unearthed a BBC television report from 9/11 in which the reporter announced the collapse of WTC 7. Strangely, though, the building is still plainly visible over her right shoulder, and would not fall for another 20 minutes.
Well, if the rest of the world won't get to the bottom of this, maybe Rosie will.

Notice the official-line tactic is to refer to the doctored image of WTC 7 damage.
Our analysis here shows that to be a doctored photograph. This is most useful. We can make the best of it.
Plus, do the so-called debunkers ever ask how those huge and burning steel I-beams got thrown almost 400 feet? That's many tons of metal -- some say 30 tons, others 300, per chunk. Wow.

You know what I'd like to see?
I'd like to see a post that talks about the Alfred P. Murrah building on Oklahoma City as an example of what happens when you "scoop out" the front of a building, as Meigs and Popular Mechanics like to desribe the damage to WTC 7. His theory is that the debris from WTC 1 scooped out a 10 floor swath of the south face of WTC 7, which caused it to eventually collapse.
The explosion in OKC "scooped out" two thirds of the Marrah building from lobby to roof. I wasn't even able to tell what I was seeing that day at first. Heck, all that building's fire-prooffing must have been dislodged by the force, just like the planes did to the towers. The funny thing is, the building never fell down. It had to be brought down by controlled demolition many months later - I believe it was even demolished by Controlled Demolition, INC.
Didn't the Murrah building understand the obvious physics of what happens when the face is "scooped out"? Didn't it know enough to collapse straight down in seconds?
Can someone talk about this? Then Meigs can explain it to us.

"CDI crews worked on a fast-track basis to prepare the structure for subsequent explosives placement. Less than 150 pounds of explosives placed in 420 locations was used to fell the structure.
At 7:00 am on Wednesday, May 24, 1995, the remains of the building that was the target of America's deadliest domestic terrorist attack crumbled neatly in seven (7) seconds. The results of the implosion surpassed expectations. The Murrah Building fell as planned, leaving the adjacent parking structure intact."

"While final decisions concerning the demolition were being made, CDI was contracted by the GSA to salvage sensitive government paperwork from the building prior to demolition."
That may or may not be significant; it's reasonable to suppose that CDI would already need to be "cleared" for security to handle sensitive stuff to do the demo job, so it isn't necessarily suspicious that they would also be tapped to remove some of the building's contents while preparing for that job. Using them for that would mean killing 2 birds with 1 red tape stone. Still... it's worth noting.

Excellent point! The plans to demo the towers are something even many, if not most, 9-11 Truthers are unaware existed before 9-11 happened. Those giant white elephants had to come down and this was a major problem logistically and financially until that convenient day.

I have ALWAYS wondered the same thing myself. How did the OKC building stand but WTC7 did not. You know every time I start tot think I'm crazy I just look at the video of WTC7 fall and it snaps me out of my media controlled coma.
One other thing that I would like to know about, has there ever been a scientific study on the correlation between the events of 9/11 and the rise of the use of drugs such as Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvox. I have loved ones that have been on the mind altering drugs (that is exactly what they are.) and their ability to care just simply goes away. Everything is numb. I wonder if that is why so many Americans are simply numb to the glaring contradictions that they see sitting right before their very own eyes.
Our press is weak in this country, our politicians are weak in this country, they are corrupt, they serve the special interest groups and not the people. And for those of you that are that thought like me that the Democrats were going to get to the truth, you are sadly mistaken. There is no longer a 2 party system here anymore; we are only made to believe that there is. I truly believe that BOTH parties have sold out to money, power and greed. Having been directly involved, I'm not sure that my attitude has changed at all since 9:40am, on 9/11.
From where I sit, It's truly astounding that there even is a concsious 'mainstream' effort to subvert the cause of justice. And, we must all understand that we were ALL raised on propaganda-videos. I mean, wasn't that the point of 'high school'?
I do have videographer friends who avidly watch the History channel, but I have to pause at their insensitivity, and this outright 'mental retardation' that seems to accompany a never-ending stream of Hollywood hype.
"No plane at Pentagon" seemed totally self-evident the instanty they claimed all this (was) or had happened. In a 'democracy,' they would not have talked about the teeth they found, but rather shown us the samples. If it need be, label it 'adult-content,' but don't think for a second that the average American would buy 'no evidence of any hi-jacking,' by day three.
'Blogger' historically doesn't delve into 'retribution,' but I don't think it's out of line to demand that --ALL FEDERAL INCUMBENTS-- be subject to; A.) "Brain-scans and Lie-detector Tests." B.) Subsequent 're-election' with paper ballots. AND, -barring an interest in these two immediate solutions-based concepts, why not let's write-off the whole ordeal?

Regarding the O/T...
I was thinking about the hypocrasy of the "coerced admissions" of the detained British sailors, vs. the confession of SKM and the like. The implications re: the sailors - that they are being mistreated and or threatened... Well, I believe I've come up with a creative solution...I call it:
“Big Brother - Detained British Sailor” - the latest reality TV sensation!
I figure if CNN & the other networks can have reporters “embedded” with the troops (as they attack foreign countries like Iraq), why can’t the Iranians “embed” reporters/cameras with the British detainees?
In bad taste? One might think so... but consider the content... instead of campy out takes & clever editing, Iran places the 15 detained British sailors on live web-cam 24/7, with full audio.
Who then could challenge the Iranians treatment of said sailors?
From waking in the morning, to brushing teeth, eating meals, any activities, no matter how mundane would be broadcast live. The Sailors would be followed everywhere, or left to their own devices in their web-cam monitored common quarters.
Currently people all over the world fight to get on these silly shows… to get their 15min. of fame. In this case the Iranians would be helping these sailors become over-night celebrities!
I bet it would be heavily watched all across the Arab world and here. Advertisers would BEG networks to carry it & pay dearly for ad time.
Broadcast on the web & TV, and would be difficult to completely suppress.

I was just reading a radio show interview with host Ian Punnett. He was interviewing David Hawkins, a forensic economist, presently investigating the money trail with respect to 911 and Field McDonnell, an experienced pilot who is also investigating 911.
WARNING and DISLAIMER: I don't know if this stuff is true or not. I only post this to see what others have to say about it. If its true it adds another dimension to the WTC 7 controlled demolition. If Its true it would identify an exact company as being one of the 911 perps and another big motive for why WTC 7 was demolished.
David Hawkins claims there was "on the morning of 911 there was a British company conducting sabotage vulnerability testing, in the World Trade Center". THe British company was AMEC. [This testing was like another war exercise, it could give cover to the perps. AMEC also built the reinforced wedge on the Pentagon where it was damaged during 911.]
THen a caller into the radio show, WILL, claims that 3.3 TRILLION missing was stolen thru Building 7 and that Building 7 was destroyed to cover the evidence.
By the way, a major shareholder of AMEC is Goldman Sachs, who by the way is part owner of the private federal reserve (Secrets of the Federal Reserve (a book written by Eustace Mullins)).

AMEC and Citigroup were in a partnership in [WTC] building #7, engaged in sabotage vulnerability testing through the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management on the 22nd floor. Right? So they actually were the only company to know how to pull building #7 down If Larry Silverstein, remember, he was a part owner of the debt on building #7, the bulk of the ownership was the debt of the mortgage, was somewhere between Blackstone private equity and the Teachers’ pension fund, of which the chairman was on the board of Boeing. So, actually the directors of Boeing have insider knowledge of a bogus insurance, this is my allegation or our allegation I think, if Field comes in behind me and I think he will, had insider knowledge that the insurance on building #7 had been ramped up, they had insider knowledge that AMEC and CitiGroup were conducting sabotage vulnerability testing in building #7 and the Pentagon, therefore AMEC was the only company that would appear to have the ability to collapse the building and help collecting a bogus insurance policy.
