On the one hand, Karl Rove kind of deserves anything and everything he gets.
On the other hand, they went too far, and seem to have become an illegal mob.
I don't watch a lot of so-called TV "News", or read the newspapers much, but I hadn't heard or seen anything about this. It apparently happened on March 4 of this year.
It's hard to tell what's going on because the video is so bad.

(03/04/07) WASHINGTON - White House aide Karl Rove came face to face with angry protesters after speaking to the Young Republican Club at American University Tuesday night, with about 20 students lying down in front of his car.
Student Josh Goodman told The Washington Post other students kicked Rove's car, "and tried to stop it as best they could."
Goodman, an AU junior, said he and others wanted to make a "citizens arrest" of the presidential adviser.

I appreciate your hopeful sentiment that We could have an entirely non-violent movement to balance the karma (and I've got a dollar that Dance feels that same way), however... and what I hope every person who sees such a demonstration manifesting so close to home and in a modern world... is given deep and sober pause... that a mob CAN manifest into a nasty fucking mess.
The fact that such a outwardly thoughtless mob, instinctually zeroed in on the Terd Blossom... does confirm, as unsavory as the mob can be... that it still points to the rare-ish 'wisdom' of a mob seeking cosmic balance for Rove's involvement in killing a million people, and displacing two.
Non-Violence, hopefully is our high-minded guiding light... but it might also be a bit naive to imagine that such wisdom will always be consistently expressed by the multiplicity of fellow countrymen and women to equally exercise your restraint.... in the current atmosphere.
The video shoes how completely pissed... and strained to such a point... The People have been reduced to, by a government that has actively dumbed them down, treats them like shit, ignores years and millions of voices for "Leaders" to change their ways...
and the loss of tranquility (or incitement to)... is this government's greatest crime.
I too so pray that We will prevail with the most bloodless revolution possible... but I'm also not naive.

That's how they screwed over the Black Panthers and many other groups. They've tried it in many Animal Rights and Environmental Rights groups, and other peace, social justice and political groups, and mostly failed.
It's a very well known tactic, and takes many forms. Including inserting themselves into peaceful protests and turning them into violent protests. There is a long history of this type of action.

How do we know they were
How do we know they were even throwing rocks? They were in DC it's one giant slab of concrete with hardly any free rocks around. Rove is the type of person to lie his ass off AND he has pull. I wouldn't doubt if he told the press they were throwing rocks to make them look bad. It doesn't make any sense any way for students to be throwing rocks in his direction with fellow students laying on the ground near him! This sounds like a load of horse shit!
