Dear Senator Gravel,
Do you want to win?
You are one word away from turning US politics on its head. There is one powerful, earth shaking word that can stop this madness in its tracks and press "reset" on the entire imperial project.
That word is "Treason."
In particular, the treason that transpired on September 11th 2001. There is no other issue, and no other combination of words that will put you in the White Hosue except for this issue, and this word: Treason.
Treason is knowingly allowing the attacks on our nation and not doing anything whatsoever to stop them. That happened. Everyone knows it, yet no one puts it on national television.
Treason is being told "America is under attack," yet sitting there, stalling for time, and reading a children's book.
Treason is when the Vice President of the United States illegally assumes control of our armed forces and orders a stand down of force protection at the Pentagon, as witnessed in Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta's testimony under oath to the 9/11 Commission.
Treason is receiving a Daily Briefing called "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US" and then failing to respond to this threat in any meaningful manner.
Treason is being moved from your high rise hotel in Genoa Italy because of a warning of suicide hijackings of commercial jets, and then lying to the country repeatedly that this threat was never conceived of before.
Treason is violating one's oath of office to defend the Constitution, and then burning the Bill of Rights, destroying the foundation of our freedoms and of our nation.
Treason is participating in the cover-up and illegally destroying crime scene evidence so that we cannot forensically solve the greatest crime in American history.
Treason is obvious to many millions around the world, including the intelligence services of other nations who warned the U.S. during the summer of 2001 that this attack was imminent and expected.
Senator Gravel, America is hanging by a thread. The media have been complicit in obeying the government and in covering up the glaring Treason of September 11th. You are in a unique position to open up this issue to scrutiny.
Other candidates will not tread there. They lack the guts, or the brains, or the morality to confront the high treason that has allowed and fostered international terrorism. U.S. leaders have deliberately allowed known terrorists to escape justice and to act against civilians. This is a provable fact.
You could be the man that saved America from fascism and totalitarian rule. But it's all or nothing.

If Gravel embraces 911 truth he will be unstoppable. Unfortunately, I do not see that happening. Even if he does, politicians are basically "responsive" creatures; they respond to the pressure being forced upon them, whether it be the CFR or a mass movement.
Why did Nixon initiate environmental protections? Because he gave a shit about the environment? No.
Why did LBJ initiate civil rights protections? Because he gave a shit about "niggers"? (his words). No.
Why did Roe V. Wade pass with a conservative supreme court?
Because millions of women were in the streets. They had little or no choice.
Please, do not stake your hopes on a politician "doing the right thing"-- by all means petition them -- but realize that the most effective means of petitioning is to get out into the streets en masse and FORCE them to do the right thing.

Kos has an extremely strict policy against any mention of alternative theories about 9/11. Numerous people have been summarily banned from his blog for suggesting U.S. government complicity.
The post urging Mike Gravel to accuse the Bush administration of treason on 9/11 has not yet been deleted from Daily Kos after several hours since it was posted. I wonder if this is a sign that even Kos, one of the most rabid anti-Truth Movement among the liberal bloggers on the internet, is starting to loosen his rules and finally allow some real discussion of 9/11 on his blog. If so, that is a very good sign!

An Open Letter to Mayor Giuliani
Dear Mayor Giuliani:
Since you have based your presidential campaign almost exclusively on your reaction to terrorist attacks on New York City, and since you have recently accused Democrats of being on the defense against terrorism and therefore guilty of inviting more casualties, I have one question for you: Where were you on terrorism between January 31, 2001, and September 11th?
The first date was when the U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century issued its final report warning, as did its previous reports, of the danger of terrorist attacks on America. The George W. Bush administration did nothing about these warnings and we lost 3,000 American lives. What did you do during those critical eight months? Where were you? Were you on the defensive, or were you even paying attention?
Before you qualify to criticize Democrats, Mr. Giuliani, you must account for your preparation of your city for these clearly predicted attacks. Tell us, please, what steps you took to make your city safer.
Until you do, then I strongly suggest you should keep your mouth shut about Democrats and terrorism.
You have not qualified to criticize others, let alone be president of the United States.

"universal healthcare" - which means same corrupt, maniacal, predatory institution that carried out 9/11 could then assume a total monopoly upon your health. Sorry don't want those eugenics monsters dictating the parameters of my healthcare and who gets to be a practitioner.
"fair tax" - meaning total track, trace, and control of purchases and commerce - fully compatible with the federal ID card that will eventually be a debit card as well.
He doesn't pass the smell test.

You're missing an important point here. Mike Gravel's primary goal is the empowerment of the American people through the National Initiative for Democracy. Once we, the people, have legislative power, they cannot shove anything down our throats - so to speak.
The government will not RUN universal healthcare, but rather regulate it to remove the inefficiencies. And with initiatives, we the people can revise anything that does not work. I suggest you read this report by Public Citizen.
I could make a similar comment about the Fair Tax. We, the people, can change whatever we want to change with initiatives.

"knowingly allow" just doesn't work, period. You call wiring the buildings with explosives - allowing the attacks?? Words have meaning - this is a fine effort but should be re-phrased to avoid absurdity.
"knowingly allow" is treason.
You have video of Georgie wiring the columns when he should have been in Crawford?
As president, his role was to allow it.
We still don't know exactly who wired buildings for demolition, although this article gives a pretty strong lead.

If promoting LIHOP rather than MIHOP will get you 10 times as many people to take 9/11 Truth seriously and rationally examine the evidence (which it will), then shouldn't we be satisfied with that, rather than insist on some kind of counterproductive ideological purity? Personally, I'm thrilled that LIHOP is starting to become part of the mainstream discussion. And it is! It's wonderful to see how the Overton Window keeps getting pushed more and more towards 9/11 Truth. We don't need to persuade people of more than LIHOP anyway -- even that is high treason.

If we can have both, fabulous. The problem with LIHOP is that it does nothing to deconstruct the myth of international Islamofascism.
"International Islamofascism" ...
is not entirely a myth. Sure, it is blown way out of proportion by fear-mongering American politicians. And Americans in general fail to understand that it is mostly our own imperialist foreign policy that causes young Muslim radicals around the world to hate America and turn to jihad movements. But the fact is, these movements do exist, and they are used by the Right in the U.S. as a way to get votes and to help the military-industrial complex. There is a perverse symbiosis between angry Muslims and right-wing American politicians whose entire political philosophy rests on the need to have a permanent enemy and a permanent war somewhere in the world. It used to be Communist Russia, then that went away, so now it's the angry Muslim jihadists. Both are/were real, and both have been USED by the Right to make Americans excessively afraid, and therefore more likely to pull the lever for authoritarian candidates (Republicans).
Giuliani is following that exact script in this election, which is why the Repubs are ga-ga over him even though he is liberal on most of their favorite issues (abortion, gays, etc.) Giuliani gives the hard-core Repubs exactly what they want, without even trying to hide it: a campaign based on PURE FEAR. Which leads to pure authoritarianism -- what those on the Right want more than anything else. That's why they LOVE Giuliani.
Since this is a thread about Mike Gravel, I will say this: Gravel kicked ass in that debate because he pointed out, in extremely blunt terms, this fear game that politicians have been playing to "look tough" and get votes based on scaring the shit out of people. But that doesn't mean there is no such thing as radical Islam, or Islamic terrorists. It just means that they are being used and played up by politicians who NEED their existence to get votes from Americans who want to vote for the "toughest" candidate.
Semantics are very important.
International Islamofascism is indeed a myth. Arab nationalism exists. Muslim fundamentalism exists. (So do Anglo-American-Israeli imperialism and Christian fundamentalism.) Even where these tendencies overlap, describing them as "fascism" is inaccurate. The crucial inaccuracy, however, is describing disparate groups as an internationally-coordinated enemy who was capable of causing the events of 9/11, having been LET do it by Americans.
