Arkansas GOP head: We need more 'attacks on American soil' so people appreciate Bush

Raw Story has the goods.

In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.

"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."

Milligan, who was elected as the new chair of the Arkansas Republican Party just two weeks ago, also told the newspaper that he is "150 percent" behind Bush in the war in Iraq.

In his acceptance speech on May 19th, Milligan told his fellow Republicans that it was "time for a rediscovery of our values and our common sense."

The owner of a water treatment company, Milligan was a relative unknown in Arkansas politics until being elected the party chairman. He had previously served as the party's treasurer and the Saline County Republican chair.

Disgraceful!

Dennis Milligan, you are criminal and you will be held accountable and exposed for the fraud you are.

Dennis Miligan & Co. were

Dennis Miligan & Co. were the plaintiffs in that tort case. IANAL, but it looks like they won the case, and the state appealed. He sued because he was not awarded a contract to put in water systems for 6 state buildings...

With that said, he doesn't seem like a moron, that leaves only one option...

Dear god What is he smoking?

That must be the most ridiculous comment I have seen from a blabbering politician in a while. if the U.S. is "attacked" like on
9/11 by the "perceived" terrorists, then it will only go to show how incompetent Bush and his administration is...

Help me shout 9/11 articles on:

So let me see if I understand his logic...

If we are attacked again, on the scale of 9/11, we must therefore conclude that bush is doing the right thing and everything is fine.
Am I reading that correctly?

Its more like if we are attacked again on the scale of 9/11, it proves that the war on terr is a fraud, and the gov is massively incompetent and can protect no one.

(we all know they orchestrate this stuff, but you can still prove them retarded, even when staying within their words and contexts)

Physics/Science/Mathematics do not lie, only people do.
9/11 was an INSIDE JOB

I will be writing a letter this evening asking him to resign. I hope you'll consider doing so as well.

Edit: Here is the text of the letter I sent to the office of the Arkansas Republican party ( info@arkansasgop.org )

Dear Mr. Dennis Milligan, chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party,

I have read your comments from your first public statement since being made chairman which were related in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette on June 3, 2007. In your comments you said: “At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001 ], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country.”

I would like to remind you that roughly 3,000 American civilians died on September 11th, 2001. To suggest that the deaths of additional American civilians would help the American public to very quickly appreciate President Bush is far, far worse than merely irresponsible. This kind of proclamation you've engaged in invites the use of terrorism upon the American people as an instrument of partisan politics. Your suggestion is so flagrant, so completely appalling, shocking and horrifying that it demands more than a mere apology. I am (and I am certain many other Americans are) anxiously awaiting your public apology and immediate resignation.
