Day After Corporal Wave said "Educate yourself," Ret. Lieut. Col. Ralph Peters claims “Conspiracy theories are for Arabs"- Pt. 1

On Monday, July 9th, Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters was on the Michael Medved show to discuss the Iraq War, its implications for the Global War on Terror and his latest book "Wars of Blood and Faith." I couldn't stay quiet and just listen to them blather on, so I decided to join the conversation. In the course of my call, Peters warmly gave me one of his best racist doosies of advise: "Conspiracy theories are for Arabs." This is a man who has spoken of "the Arab genius for screwing things up" and his Cheneyac commitment to the idea that "There will be no peace. At any given moment for the rest of our lifetimes, there will be multiple conflicts in mutating forms around the globe. Violent conflict will dominate the headlines, but cultural and economic struggles will be steadier and ultimately more decisive. The de facto role of the US armed forces will be to keep the world safe for our economy and open to our cultural assault. To those ends, we will do a fair amount of killing." I should have known that he wouldn't be a 9-11 Truther.. I felt a duty, however to school him on the divide and conquer techniques catalyzing the volatile situation in Iraq and the relation of that to 7-7, 9-11 and the left-right divide in America. Don't read yet, listen!

Pt. 2- http://media.putfile.com/Medved-show-7-9-07-2-w-Lieutenant-Colonel-Ralph-Peters (get's interesting a third of the way in)

Peters started by giving me advice:

“Never, never blame anything on a conspiracy that can be explained by incompetence.”

I don’t. The full spectrum of facts surrounding the attacks of 9-11 and 7-7 cannot be explained by incompetence. If you were to ask a real Colonel, such as Bob Bowman, someone who has wrestled with the profundity of the oath he took, you would know that normal procedures were disrupted and, in some cases, paralyzed on 9-11. If this administration and its mole controllers had purely done nothing on 9-11, thousands of dead people would still be alive. As Mr. Bowman says, “the very kindest thing that we can say about George W. Bush and all the people in the U.S. Government that have been involved in this massive cover-up, the very kindest thing we can say, is that they were aware of impending attacks and let them happen. Now some people will say that’s much too kind, however even that is high treason and conspiracy to commit murder.”

Or, as veteran military intelligence officer and true patriot Barbara Honegger points out, over 60 agencies or fail-safe systems would have had to fail that morning for the attacks of 9-11 not to have been an inside job.

Don’t worry Mr. Peters, like many other Americans, I really gave your dear incompetence explanation a good go. For nearly 4 years, I believed some mixture of incompetence, blowback and ideological rage to be responsible for the vicious attacks against us on 9-11. But once prompted to attend to the facts of the matter, a practice that is crucial for both the civilian and military spheres to act properly, I had to go well beyond the snug and smug space of incompetence theorizing to which you urge me to cling.

“Look, you know, conspiracy theories are for Arabs. That’s why the Middle East is such a mess. Everything’s always blamed on a conspiracy. My feeling is, even if there are conspiracies out there, I’m just gonna march right through them and do what’s right and get the job done.”

First of all, for a military man who helps guides US foreign policy as a public ‘intellectual’ it is disgusting for you to say, and more importantly, to believe that “conspiracy theories are for Arabs.” At the very least, I imagine the Arab-Americans serving in the US military would demand that you retract this horrific statement. If I managed a periodical of any reputation in this country, I would not want a man with your bigoted and myopic views using my paper and ink to publicly propose military policy that continues to hold forth the consequence of destroying thousands of human lives.

I can see, however, that on a deeper level you’ve actually spoken a subliminal truth with this infantile phrase. The Global War on/of Terror, which you wholeheartedly endorse, is constituted upon a conspiracy ‘theory’ that describes the attacks of 9-11 as being 100% pure Arab in origin. Thus, when you make the claim that “conspiracy theories are for Arabs,” you mean that Arabs are not only the subjects who are conspiracy theorists, but also the objects subjected to conspiracy theories. Even though white men such as yourself have participated in endless conspiracies since the dawn of Western civilization, you are above these self-evident truths.

As you seemed to imply, even if there are “conspiracies out there,” by which I think you mean hidden western-white-men conspiracies (being that we both agree that 9-11 and 7-7 were clearly conspiracies), it is of minor importance compared to “do[ing]what’s right” and “get[ting] the job done.” The problem is that the conspiracies are not “out there” but deep within your own government. So, being that your ethical and analytical capacities are clearly dilapidated, I need to ask you Lt. Col. Peters, would you help “get the job done” even if it was an inside job that needed being done?

Just to make sure that Mr. Medved and others cannot claim that I am unfairly taking your words out of context, let’s allow you to finish your generous advice to a deluded and misguided young conspiracy theorist such as myself.

“And that’s how you have to approach life. You can’t be like paranoid thinking like “Oh my god, even the British are against us.” Well hey, you know, you can’t move forward looking back. I just think that’s wrong.”

Well hey, you know what Colonel? You, especially as a military man, can’t go forward blaming the past acts of high treason and mass murder perpetrated by moles at the highest levels of your government on patsies who could not have successfully architected the full scope of attacks. Your oath was to defend the constitution, the supreme law of the land, against all enemies, no matter their national, geographical or ethnic origin. I know that it is much simpler to shrug off “conspiracy theories” as crutches for the feeble Arab mind, and that it takes a whole lot more courage to confront enemies of immense power well above you embedded within your own society. But, as it so happens, that is the oath you took. So, I say, stop giving me advice, and do the duty you took an oath in front of God and your fellow humans to uphold sir!

And if, as readily seems apparent, you have forgotten how it is that a real soldier acts with loyalty to his oath in defense of the Constitution, and love for the people it is supposed to protect and empower, look, listen and learn from the courageous recitation and call of Corporal Wave.

You, on the other hand, called for the court-martialing of foreign officers on Fox News by saying things that you should have been saying to the Commander in Chief right after the attacks of 9-11.

“In the US Military we say a leader is responsible for everything his subordinates do or fail to do. And by the way we also say that the maximum effective range of an excuse is zero meters…Real officers don’t make excuses. When they screw up, they say, “we screwed up.”

But, of course, not one civilian leader or military commander was fired, court-martialed, or even reprimanded for the worst failure to protect American civilians in history. This brazen disrespect for honor, responsibility and integrity is what makes people suspect that things went as planned that day.

“Soldiers have to act with a certain amount of dignity and loyalty to their own country.”

“No, Neil I gotta stress it, I am NOT a hero or a heroic figure. I have been privileged to know heroes…”

“There is no excuse, they betrayed their country.”

And so have you, Mr .Peters, unwittingly, I hope and suspect. There is still a chance for you to become a heroic figure by admitting that you “screwed up.” The Spirit moves in mysterious ways Mr. Peters.

I was lucky enough to have been moved by the Spirit on Sunday night in a church in Los Angeles, a few blocks down from where RFK was murdered in a state-sponsored, false–flag terror attack covered up to this day.

There, I saw with my own eyes a humble man act with the dignity, courage and loyalty of a real US Marine. And it sent a powerful shiver of heat up my spine. May that this young corporal’s courage and commitment wash over all men and women who have ever worn the uniform. Come wear it now in defense of Truth and Justice and the people you love.

And Mr. Peters, please meditate upon this oath that you took long ago in time and bring it close to your heart during these oh so dire and precious times.

“I, Johnny Wave, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Good job!

Your call to Col. Peters was powerful and to the point. They didnt address one fact you threw in their faces.
Im impressed with the quality of activism Im seeing..keep up the good work!!

Exemplary, very calm and concise.. no ravings about the New (?) World Order, etc. Well done!!

we should use the word

we should use the word "imcompetence" in the way that they use "conspiracy theory". what a cop-out. racist son of a bitch.

Well done! It's easy for

Well done!

It's easy for Peters to say redraw the maps and whatnot, when he's not out on the front paying for idiotic policy decisions. What's his combat experience, if any?

Great job!

"9-11 was also an inside job, right?"

In other words, the guy implies that this is completely unthinkable. He probably won't do "the analysis"...

Excellent work

Very well put together. Very well written. Every bit of effort is worth while in the name of Truth and Justice.

Cockburn still at it - laments the 'orgy of 9/11 conspiracism'

And of course, it's not just right-wing shows like Medved's that promote such dismissive, uncritical thinking (anti-critical thinking, to be more accurate). Recently I took the trouble to read Alexander Cockburn for the first time in quite a while, on the dismal state of the anti-war movement in the US; and sure enough, he couldn't get through it without taking a swipe at the 9/11 truth movement as a negative contributing factor:

'In the Bush years we've seen a further decline in any independent left with a unified theoretical and practical strategy or even a political theory; also a rise in unconstructive and indeed demobilising paranoia, as in the orgy of 9/11 conspiracism I described here recently.'

What an a**hole.

GREAT JOB!!!

It's particularly telling the way these radio show hosts keep hanging up on people bringing up the topic of 9/11 truth. I'm sure people listening are someday going to figure out that, hey, something is just not right with the official story . . .

Fabulous job.

This is the state of "debate" or "argument" in this world. One side is presenting facts, evidence, and a logical, structured argument, and the other side is just going "NUH-UH!!", and spewing a bunch of pre-programmed, knee-jerk drivel. As long as they yell louder, the people buy it. Sickening.

Great job on the call though. That might be one of the best Truther media appearances I've heard, if not THE best.

Thank you 4 the compliments and encouragement

I appreciate it. i feel honored to be a part of this movement that is so organic to me it is like water crashing into a wall or a dam. At first, everyone's like "the dam will hold indefinitely, it is hard and water is soft", others will say "go get your chisel or sledgehammer and start working on it," and that it is important to open up a little hole. And once the water finds a little opening, you can guarantee that the fate of the dam is sealed in the not too distant future. Let's push it on through.
