The snowball: Bush like Hitler and 911 like Reichstag

(I doubt that very many visitors to this site will agree with Mr. Foxman on this one. Take some time to write to Mr. Foxman, take a deep breath, and give him the facts: http://www.adl.org/contact_us.asp

Second: The Anti-Defamation League July 17, 2007
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called on Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) to retract his comments likening what happened in the aftermath of the burning of the Reichstag in 1933 – the rise of Nazism – to 9/11 and the War on Terror and apologize to the American people.

Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement:

Congressman Keith Ellison's comments comparing the rise of Nazism in the aftermath of the burning of the Reichstag to the War on Terror in the aftermath of 9/11 is outrageous and offensive to all Americans. Whatever his views may be on the Administration's response to 9/11 and the conduct of the War on Terrorism, likening it to Hitler's rise to power and Nazism is odious and demeans the victims of 9/11 and the brave American men and women engaged in the War on Terror. Furthermore, it demonstrates a profound lack of understanding about the horrors that Hitler and his Nazi regime perpetrated.

Congressman Ellison should retract his remarks and provide the American people with the apology he owes them.

Third: The Hill July 17, 2007 Republicans call for reprimand of Ellison

Two House Republicans Tuesday called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to reprimand Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) for reportedly drawing a comparison between President Bush and Adolf Hitler.

“We call on you to swiftly and immediately reprimand Rep. Ellison for his flagrant and irresponsible comparison,” Reps. Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.) and Eric Cantor (R-Va.) wrote in a letter to Pelosi. “These comments inflame hatred and division at a time when we should be promoting our unity and reconciliation.”

Fourth: Fox News Monday, July 16, 2007

Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, is defending himself Monday after comparing President Bush to Adolf Hitler and leaving the impression the administration may have rigged the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Fifth: United Press International July 17, 2007 at 7:21 PM

Critics: Muslim rep. likened Bush, Hitler

the usual suspects. they all

the usual suspects. they all have so much invested in the big lie.

Abe Foxman gets it wrong. Let him know, be logical, but be clear.

Just sent the following from the linked ADL page:

I was surprised to read that the ADL disapproved of Congressman Ellison's comments comparing the rise of Nazism after the burning of the Reichstag to the War on Terror in the aftermath of 9/11. I would think the ADL would be especially sensitive to attacks on civil liberties, especially those with an ethnic or racial cast. The policies of Nazi Germany did not appear in full blown form overnight; instead they began slowly and gathered force as the big lies of Jewish and leftist treachery took greater hold on the public.

Only about 15% of Americans, according to national polls, believe in the government explanation of what happened on 9/11. Any impartial look at the evidence suggests that part of the US government, not 19 patsies with box cutters led by a sheik in a cave, conspired to murder on that day. The parallels to the Reichstag fire are obvious.
