130 Liberty Street, the building that didn't collapse

It's interesting to note that the 41-story building at 130 Liberty Street, known as the "old Deutsche Bank building" did not collapse even though debris from the falling WTC Tower 2 tore a 15-story gash in the building's northern side. Its cleanup and demolition was postponed for four years by lawsuits over who would pay for it, concerns that the dismantling would pollute the neighborhood with toxic dust and asbestos. The size is similar to WTC7 and it sounds like it sustained more damage than WTC7, but strangely, it did not fall down. Instead, it is being demolished, or dismantled, floor-by-floor in an extremely expensive and time consuming process. I wonder if it would have fell down if it had been owned by Silverstein.

Poor old 130 Liberty came to my attention because it is now in the news. It seems that a fire broke out on the upper floors and that two firemen died. Joseph Graffagnino and Robert Beddia got lost on the 14th floor as their air tanks ran out. Some folks questioned why would firemen be put at risk to save a condemned building, but the man in charge thought that the building might collapse due to the fire. So, it seems that two more deaths need to be added to the list of those who died due to lies.

I don't know how this information can be helpful, but it does seem interesting to compare this building with WTC7. The only difference seems to be in who owned it.

Excellent perspective, thanks. I found this interesting :

'Jack McDonnell, president of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association, said there was no choice other than to send firefighters into the building. “It never could have been contained from the outside,” he said. “The building could have collapsed, endangering lives and property.” ' (MSNBC). One word - bullshit.

Unfortunately, it seems 9/11 has de-educated, or made stupider, even professional fire officers like this guy.
The long-known truth that fire does not cause a steel building to collapse was dismissed as false because of 9/11. So instead of letting an empty, condemed building burn, or a least be fought from the outside by ladder hoses, they sent fighters in, costing lives.

Ironically, even if they believed the "fire collapse" theory, no fighters were sent inside to fight the WTC7 fires and no one died from its collapse, so WTF? Also the 2005 Madrid fire destroyed the ridiculous fire collapse theory, but I guess that's irrelevant since it happened in a foreign country (?)
