On the morning of Friday, 8-17-07, about 50 people from the Los Angeles Impeachment Center (www.bcimpeach.com) stormed the chamber of the LA City Council to demand that the Council fulfill their oath to the Constitution by introducing and passing a resolution in support of impeaching George W. Bush and Richard Bruce Cheney. After much disciplined and strategic organizing by people like dedicated activist Peter Thottam and many other organizers and engaged citizens, Councilmember Bill Rosendahl helped open the space for a half hour discussion of why impeachment IS a local issue. Many people made powerful points about the ethical imperative of stepping up and doing something during a time of moral crisis. Watch the two videos @ the end of this post to get a flavor of how it went down.

Since people touched on the many aspects of why impeachment was a local issue, I, wearing my "9-11, Got Doubts?" shirt, decided to speak to the crimes of 9-11, the murder of 34 Los Angelenos still without justice, and the fact that I had just put in papers to Federal judges accusing Bush and Cheney of treason. Since my statement was not included in the youtube videos (possibly they were a bit too much for the face of the impeachment movement), I include the audio of it here: Click here to watch 'City-Council-Impeachment-Treason-and-9-11-Truth-speech8-17-07'

If you are from the LA area, go to www.bcimpeach.com to find the contacts of Council Members who need to hear from us in order to find the spine to pass the resolution. If introduced and passed, Los Angeles, the home of more congressional districts than most states and many congressmembers on key committees (such as Oversight, Intelligence and International Relations), will become the largest municipality in the country to pass an impeachment resolution. With Cosmos from www.truthaction.org, Code Pink and company keeping the direct pressure on Democratic 'Leadership' crypto-'Nazi' Pelosi (http://www.911blogger.com/node/10724), impeachment may just re-take its rightful seat at the constitutional table. We the People, at this crucial moment in the life of our nation, demand this from our public servants.

I'm glad they are doing this work, but why is a dedicated activist like Peter Thottam - a well educated lawyer working with business groups in LA - willing to appear at a 9/11 event on this anniversary with people like Jim Fetzer and Alfred Webre? (http://ready4mainstream.ny911truth.org/speakers.htm). I tried emailing him but got no response. I hope someone else will try to reach him.

I don't get it.

I recommend this short video on Webre if people don't already know about his primary work, which has no mention in his Bio -

San Francisco voters passed

San Francisco voters passed an ordinance last year calling for the impeachment of Bush and Cheney. Since then I have not seen or heard anything about it, at all...... Obviously the will of the people means absolutely nothing to our representative, Nancy Pelosi....even with the passage of an official city ordinance.
