The U.S. Banking System: Too Big To Bail Out

Interview with economic historian and author, Webster Tarpley, on the global financial crisis. We discuss his new 17-page article, Helicopter Ben Unleashes Hyper-Inflation, including the bailout of Wall Street, inflation, demise of the dollar, derivatives, hedge funds, the plunge protection team, commodities as the next "bubble," and what we should do. Tarpley is author of Surviving the Cataclysm, A Study of the World Financial Crisis (Your Guide Through the Greatest Financial Crisis in Human History). He is also author of 9/11 Synthetic Terror, Made in the U.S.A.; Against Oligarchy; and co-author of George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography. Email him at tarpley@tarplet.net. Tarpley makes it clear!

Tarpley makes it clear that the present system cannot be saved because of the size of the involved debts in the hundreds of trillions!

He also makes it very clear his desire that we should not bail out these oligarch financiers that gambled with Japan's Yen carry trade money and have essentially lost. In contrast to the addicted gambler at a casino table who must face reality after he's tapped out his accounts at the automatic teller, these oligarch banks: Citibank, Lehman, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and a few others expect the taxpayer to bail them out, now. Tarpley makes it clear they should be left to their own devices to face their present plight! I couldn't agree more and I hope others feel the same way!

Don't give them a penny nevertheless a dime!--allow these corrupt, degenerate oligarch financiers to start from scratch! We'll all be better off. They're not worth saving!

I showed my mother Webster's latest article and had her listen to his most recent appearance on the Rense program, after some anger, she readily got out her investment portfolio to look it over! His arguments are compelling!

...don't believe them!

Great show!

Must hear. Please listen when you find the time.

Good stuff but...

Good stuff but too much, too fast, and too paranoid. Not all doom and gloom scenarios have to be correct or part of a greater whole. The message gets lost in the details. We all can use an editor at times or we lose credibility. Yes, something is going on, but take a breath, get some sleep and don't let it take over every cell of your brain.

Will the melt down really happen?

I hope it does, because I think it would be best for all of us and the world in the long run. Peak Oil, Imperialism, Resource Shortages, Global Warming, and all that. But is it really going to? It seems like it just gets absorbed, with a little more inflation, etc. Tarpley, in fact, said in the interview that Greenspan had probably done the same thing before (bailed out investors) but just covered it up. It always sounds like the "big one" is coming, but the economy keeps stumbling along.
