Philly 9/11 Truth Confronts John McCain on Popular Mechanics Endorsement & Terrorism Financing

Monday 11/19/2007

Presidential hopeful John McCain held a “town hall meeting” in Philadelphia last
week at the University of Penn hornswoggling youthful minds with fear-based
propaganda. Over 900 students packed Penn’s Zellerbach theatre to hear the
Republican candidate's agenda and to ask questions. Former 9-11 commissioner John Lehman and
Utah Governor Jon Huntsman sat in solidarity while McCain delivered chilling
warnings about “Islamo-fascism”, global warming, and the Iraq war.

Phony liberals and aspiring neocons dominated the forum with softball questions and
inquiries based on false paradigmatic information. Only a handful of the dozen and a
half or so questions posed were of a challenging nature. Fortunately Philly 9/11 Truth
members were able to interpose significant
questions to disrupt the monotony of the session. One challenged the senator’s
endorsement of the Popular Mechanics issue “Debunking 9/11 Myths” elucidating the
omissions of Sibel Edmonds and other whistleblowers from the 9/11 Commission Report.
In response, audience members jeered and shrilled in favor of smothering his dissenting voice. A
follow up question from the other activist called into question the combat veteran’s support for the
war on terror citing evidence of the U.S. financing terrorist groups in the Middle
East. The woeful ignorance of the crowd allowed McCain to slip away from the
question and subvert it into a grandstand moment about his “anti-torture stance.”

Thank you.

For sitting through what must have been an excruciating propaganda session to get your questions in. I'm sure that was torture enough.

Sibel who?

I second that.

Well put, Reprehensor.

Temple9/11Truth, your fortitude is commendable.

Please see my comments below.

Is this...

What you text messaged me for the names of the Commissioners for?

Wow...

John McCain is an absolute piece of shit. There's no other way to describe him.

John Lehman

was on the 9/11 commision & lives in PA. Why doesn't Philly 9/11 try & get a Q & A session with the
guy? He seems to be somewhat of a reasonable guy as I read a column where he heavily criticized
Bush & Rumsfield:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/30/AR200608...

In the article he writes the commision recommended reduction of our 15 intelligent agency's & Bush
ignored this & instead added another.

Maybe he'd stonewall you guy's, but it would be interesting to hear his perspective.

A brave effort. The crowd does what crowds do. McCain draws the line at torture (from personal experience), but he is compromised for several reasons and will never reverse his stance re 9/11. After all, "character is destiny".

I don't trust a traitorous, baldfaced liar like McCain about

anything he says, including that he draws the line at torture. He learned nothing in Viet Nam about phony wars based on false-flag attacks (Gulf of Tonkin) & murdering millions of innocent people???

Sins of the father?

Wasn't it McCain's father, an admiral, who was involved in the USS Liberty coverup? Of course, even in that case we could see it as evidence that cover-ups of this kind 'run in the family'.

Good video and work.

Wonder how he would respond to questions about conflicts of interest.

Great Confrontation

The present effort in questioning McCain is very well done. In fact, it's excellent! You got some questions in front of the usual naive crowd that can't believe our government does bad things!

Some people hearing these confrontations repeatedly, will break down and examine the issues for themselves! Some will be persuaded. Reality does tend to win out over propaganda..

On the other hand, McCain proved extremely skillful in his responses! He did far better than I would've suspected. He must have skipped the bar although his suit was rumpled?

McCain was chilling in his remark, "...able to reorganize our broken institutions." It's scary when viewed as a cosmetically pleasant-phrasing of our turn towards a fascist-torture state. Did McCain say that he would never, ever allow the torture of anyone within our country? It could be a true statement, but implies, if need be, you can be on the next rendition flight to a secret prison overseas!

I found it rather disquieting the end note of consoling the audience that there will be no torture and the qualification, "within this country."

McCain appears to be an obvious imbiber and you...

...shouldn't believe him!

Show "The World Is Flat?" by Freedoms_Please

Who is this?...

Thomas Friedman?!

i pray you're joking

you can't possibly be serious in asking whether or not the world is flat.
you may as well ask whether or not you're actually stuck in a real matrix right now. not a figurative one. the actual matrix. i mean, afterall, you never know do you? actually I find that a much better question to ponder (but just for fun).

I don't mean to condescend but it appears you have never heard of the plethora of extremely obvious and well-known features that make the earth being round true. things like time zones. the curvature of the earth being recorded in high altitude jets. different levels of sunlight and different constellations seen from different parts of the world. satellites and their footage (google earth for crying out loud!). looking at other planets in the solar system. no record ever of there being somebody reaching the 'edge' etc. i mean, really man. come on.

I'm not joking, here's why...

I question everything.

Isn't what this site is all about?

People call us kooks for saying 9/11 was an inside job. Why should the shape of our world not be up for debate. I even question whether Thanksgiving is real (and my searching shows it's a completely made up story... we've been here thousands of years before hand).

And please explain to me why there are no stars shown when pictures are taken of earth (same with the moon). What is NASA hiding?

As far as Google Earth... I don't trust it. Google was funded by the CIA from day one -- just ask Alex Jones about that.

And why are the pictures of Mars obvious fakes -- every one of 'em.

Why do we only see one side of the moon... and it's always in the exact same position (mostly white at the 4 o'clock position) -- anywhere in the world. I never get legitimate answers to this (and even NASA can't explain it).

What's really going on here?

completely pointless discussion but here it goes

I don't even know why I'm replying. It is like debating a 5 year old. Seriously. I don't mean to be mean and cause a ruckus with childish insults.
My point is that 5 year olds are very under-educated, so discussing issues that are beyond their education is pointless.
You however are not a 5 year old, and should very well know by now the plethora of reasons why one should believe the Earth is round, and the lack of reasons for believing the earth to be flat.
It is simple common sense. The reason you are a civilized individual who has the ability to use a computer and get on the internet yet still thinks the world is possibly flat and doesn't accept any obvious answers is because you are afflicted with cognitive dissonance.
As far as getting called kooks for saying 9/11 to be an inside job, the reason you wouldn't want to discuss the shape of the world for debate is because the two subjects are completely different and most importantly, it makes the 9/11 truthers get called kooks even faster.
This site is not a general forum for questioning all that is. It is about 9/11. so take your flat earth debate somewhere it is welcomed.
Questioning everything leads you nowhere if you're not looking for answers, it also has no significance if doing so makes your life worse or no true good comes about long or short run than what it would be if you stopped questioning. In the case of 9/11, in the long run, asking questions and getting answers will make the short run efforts and pains worth it.

Anyways onto your assertions.
think to yourself real quick about the pictures taken of Earth. If NASA has the capability to formulate intricate images of Earth in all it's glory as a ball, then why the hell would it have a hard time making stars? I have seen many a photograph of earth with stars. I have no idea what pictures you're referring to of earth without stars.
Google being seeded by the CIA has nothing whatsoever to do with trusting the satellite imagery mapped onto the globe in such a fashion that if it were mapped flat, it would be entirely inaccurate. Alex Jones is also not omniscient sorry to say.
Pictures of Mars are obvious fakes? really? how? Why don't you invest in a telescope and look at the damn thing yourself. Oh wait, that's right, the conspiracy of NASA has mapped out a big hologram of the sky so when you look at the other planets, you're not looking at planets but just a big image from a mystery projector. right? Or am I being a little too presumptuous?
The moon does not rotate while it makes it's rounds around the earth. that is why we only see one side of the moon. It's that simple. As far as being in the exact same position any where in the world, where is the data for that? and how do you explain being able to see different constellations at different points of the earth?
Seriously, I'm not interested in carrying this discussion any further for it is entirely pointless to do so.
Maybe the reason you don't get answers to your questions is because people like me who are masochist enough to reply don't explain it in the most precise of terms. Even if a well learned individual with all the scientific data and terms actually takes out the time to do so, no data in the world would answer your question because he lacks mind control abilities. Because that is what would be needed to get you to stop denying everything that could answer your questions.
It's one thing to be questioning and inquisitive of murky events but quite another to be so just for absolutely everything for the sake of it and denying any answers you are given in favor of some grand conspiracy because it is your hobby to be paranoid.

Great job people!

McCain is wrong

I live in Scotland.. The 2 guys who carried out the Glasgow airport attack where Iraqi doctors, which would mean they have absolutley nothing to do with Al Qieda, as far as Iraqis are concerned Al Qieda are infidels and vise versa, they where a direct result of the British/US invasion on Iraq, they where nothing to do with Al Qieda but according to John McCain they where Al Qieda, could someone e-mail McCain and put him straight, also tell him Osama "big bogey man" Bin Laden, is probibly dead, and for him not to lose sleep about terrorism... THE BOGEY MAN'S GONE JOHN!

Great job guys!

Thanks for the effort and posting this. We need to do this as often as possible in every public forum we can.

Sen. McCain, like Mayor Giuliani, always leans heavily on 9/11, the war on terror and "Islamofascism" (whatever the heck that is), so we know that there will always be openings to ask questions along those lines.

Now, for a bit of constructive criticism.

It always helps if you look at these opportunities as rhetorical boxing matches (take notes when you can, both previous quotes made by your target and notes from the presentation just given so you can make obvious and coherent connections to the speaker that the audience will easily see).

The first question was very good (perhaps a little long, you want to keep the audience on your side). When Sen. McCain gave his answer citing "intelligence experts" and then gave you a follow up question the immediate response should be to name Ray McGovern as a 27-year CIA veteran who completely questions the 9/11 Commission Report and findings, (in fact, he's called it a cover-up). Additionally, Sen. Max Cleland quit the commission calling it a "sham". Finally, we should always cite Kean and Hamilton's later admission that they knew the NORAD officials lied to them and this was never followed up on, as this is usually a KO punch.

The second questioner was understandable nervous (questioning a Senator in public does take courage and practice, after all) and his question was obtuse enough that Sen. McCain easily sidestepped it. I think it would've been much better to follow up on the first questioners line of inquiry into the 9/11 Commission itself (see above) and its obvious failings, bring up the family members dissatisfaction and the plight of the 1st responders.

Always try to get them on the record on something, so those following you at later events can use that response as a basis for their question. Think of it as an interview with long pauses (we can string them all together on YouTube or Google video, too). We are making history, after all.

Keep us the great work, I look forward to more from Temple911Truth and the Keystone State!

The truth shall set us free. Love is the only way forward.

Great job guys!

Thanks for your efforts and keep it up.

The jeering audience members

The jeering audience members place some doubt in my mind about the veracity of 9/11 polls that have been taken in recent years that resulted in favor of the truth. It seems to happen at every single public event. With all the tremendous gains that have been made regarding 9/11 truth in the last few years, we are STILL the underdogs. Regardless of how many polls that indicate a third or (some which say) 2 thirds of Americans don't buy the official 9/11 story, I'm still waiting to see the on-the-ground evidence. It's frustrating as hell that people's public behavior doens't seem to reflect the poll results.

As for McCain, he's not exactly very popular among the traditional Native American communities in Arizona either. In fact, they don't like him at all.

http://freemanlc.blogspot.com/2006/04/scumbags-john-mccain-usda.html

Unfortunately this website is still living under the Chomsky-pseudo-anarchist psychological paradigm, but hopefully as the truth begins to swell, the deep-seated denial will proportionately fizzle out.

And here's another:
http://www.blackmesais.org/Current_media.htm

As for the jeering audience members

I think that far too many "truthers" still think of themselves as underdogs and/or are way too polite in the presence of celebrity criminals (like McCain, Giuliani, Clinton, Kerry, etc). Answering an anonymous poll is one thing, making oneself known in public is entirely another.

One simple solution is to always make sure that as large a truth squad as possible goes into the crowd to back the questioners up with vocal support. Spread out, so you can rally the crowd to your side. Planning and preparation are key, and practice, practice, practice.

That said, it is better that we err on the side of civility than appear as overly aggressive ranters.

We need to remind our brothers and sisters of the simple courage that ordinary citizens can bring to everyday life. The 11th day of every month campaign helps do this, standing for truth and asking the "powerful" hard questions in public does this. Wearing a button or a t-shirt when you're out in public does this (one reason I want more colorful and better t-shirts).

I love you all very much.

The truth shall set us free. Love is the only way forward.

Outstanding work

Your questions were well prepared and although Mr. McCain seemed to support his friends with his answers, even when one who actually sat the 911 commission, I've come to believe for some time now that asking any Republican, even if the Republican is the highly touted Mr. Ron Paul, we will never get the important questions answered by a party that tolls the line and is driven by fear of retribution by there own. I believe there are many respectable Republicans as is just as many unscrupulous Republicans who know that the official 911 commission report was grossly incomplete , a farce that was funded meagerly and run by the wrong people. Perhaps a Democrat Presidential nominee may break with party line and bravely go where no Republican dares to go...Giving the people of the United States a new investigation with a proper budget that fits this crime of the century. Americans are a worthy and persistent folk who will not rest until the truth is known.(Sorry to say that Mr (CNN) Beck and O (FOX) Reilly, but you two boys keep on pontificating your beliefs! We'll welcome you one day when you both realize you were wrong by underestimated the spirit of America) Up here in Canada I'm proud to be a part of this 911 truth movement in part from our own reasons and concerns sensitive to us Canadians.(one word "AFGHANISTAN) This 911 truth movement is a winning team and the people behind the 911 Truth movement in America and around the world are what brave people Hollywood hero's are later make about, and perhaps one day your history books will read about. This interview was high on integrity and you all represented the 911 truth movement well as a whole, I for one thank you for this interview with Mr McCain! Cheers from coooold Canada! Keep on pushing for 911 Truth!!!
