The San Francisco 2007 Boston Tea Party

On December 16th, 2007, the Boston Tea Party was alive and well in San Francisco. We handed out much literature to the public and read aloud, our Proclamation, to a captive audience at the Hyde Street Cable car turnaround before marching down to the pier to toss the rejected facsimile of the Official Commission Report into the Bay. A good time was had by all.

Great job! No disrespect to

Great job! No disrespect to this guy at all, but he does look like Cheney's twin LOL;

In person there could be no confusion. Cheney has a festering cloud of pestilence which surrounds him, this guy has an aura of righteousness and true patriotism.

Bush's GOD is Gold, Oil, and Drugs.

It was a joke.

It was a joke.

People used to say I looked like John Malkovich, and before that

the comic Steven Wright, and now I look like Dick Cheney? (Well, we can't all be good looking, eh?)

No one tell my mother or she'll disown me, ok?

Do you think looking like Cheney helped us get into the S.F. Examiner?

Here's what Jason Steinberg wrote on page 4 in today's edition (with yet another picture of me, too, yikes!):

HEAR YE A modern twist on the Boston Tea Party was created by John Wright of California 9/11 Truth Alliance. About 50 people, some dressed in 1773-era costumes, gathered and marched from Pier 39 to Municipal Pier on Sunday to toss a replica of the 9/11 report, because they believe its many "holes" are reason that the report should be thrown away.

Let me correct the record, I did not "create" this event, I was one of many in our group who organized the second annual S.F. Tea Party for Truth and our group is the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance.

We also had 30" x 40" replicas of the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, Executive Order of July 17, 2007, NSPD #51 and HR 1955 which we spoke out against and planned on throwing into the bay. However, National Park Police Sargent Hart overruled another officer and said that we could only take one replica onto the pier and throw it in to the bay, so our small replica of the ridiculous 9/11 Commission Report made its second trip into the bay (they wouldn't let us throw our 8' x 12' replica in, which a member of our group very much wanted to dispose of this time).

All in all, it was a good day and all the more memorable because Dylan Avery and Jason Bermas joined us after coming out for the two screenings of Loose Change Final Cut that we put on earlier in the week, which also went well. Response to the film is excellent.

Oh, and if Cynthia McKinney, Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich ask me to be vice president, I'll say yes.

The truth shall set us free. Love is the only way forward.

Bang Up Job, LeftWright!

This is exactly the sort of thing we need to be doing. Theatrical, meaningful and WITH PUBLICITY. Congrats on the article, my friend. You look like a Patriot to me!

Check this out, sfgate video

Here's some video with more of our day together in San Francisco, yes there is more of my worst "Dick Cheney" impression ( I'm going to flog that for a while, I actually do impressions and will have to learn a Cheney one, years ago I used to do a great Kissinger talking to Howard Cosell):

So, everyone, let the reviews begin!

"...of course the orders still stand, have you heard anything to the contrary...?"

(Nothing to see here, folks, move along now...)

2008 will be THE YEAR OF TRUTH, brothers and sisters, let's make if fun as frequently as possible.

The truth shall set us free. Love is the only way forward.

Sorry man, its probably just

Sorry man, it's probably just my slightly false interpretation based of the way the lighting in the area made you look like Darth Cheney, if anything though he would be your evil twin and you'd be the good one.

No worries, DBLS

You're in England, yes? A pint of JC or Harp and a laugh in a pub during halftime while Arsenal is punishing either Chelsea or Spurs will settle it all quite well.

Keep up the good work, brother!

The truth shall set (most of) us free. [Some, like my evil twin, are going to Leavenworth (note that Bush and Leavenworth streets intersect in SF)]

Love is the only way forward.

more on the tea party

This was an excellent event overall. There were probably 40-50 participants who handed out thousands of fliers to the tourists along the pier district. I was interviewed by someone from the Chronicle (who hadn't even heard of building 7), I was live on KPFA for about 5-10 minutes, there was one other major newspaper, and four smaller newspapers with reporters present. The cops were a bit annoying and obstructive, but not terrible. Huge thanks to John, Brian, Carol, Camile, and everyone else who helped make this happen!

GREAT WORK 9/11 Truth NOW!

Seeing your photos...knowing that others across this nation, around the globe are continuing to be active keeps me going. Thanks!

Excellent but want to see more?

It excellent! I'd like to see some video put on blogger, please?

...don't believe them!
