Bhutto, JFK, and Conspiracies
by Jacob G. Hornberger

It is interesting that Justin Raimondo, he of 9-11 Truth dismissal, decided to link to this article!

Why is the mainstream press considering the possibility that Pakistani intelligence agencies were behind the Bhutto killing? According to the Guardian, Pakistan’s intelligence agencies “are widely believed to carry out kidnappings, unlawful detentions and extrajudicial killings. The speed with which the government accused al-Qaida did little to allay fears of state involvement, and conflicting accounts of the cause of death have convinced many of a cover-up.”

Yet, as everyone knows, U.S. intelligence agencies, especially the CIA, have long been involved in the same sort of nefarious activities — kidnappings, torture, coups, murder, and assassinations, even as far back as the Kennedy administration.

Now, notice that no one in the mainstream press is screaming, “Conspiracy theory! Conspiracy theory!” in response to the suspicion that Pakistani intelligence agencies might have been behind the Bhutto killing. On the contrary, the mainstream press is actually treating such a conspiracy as a viable possibility.

Yet, whenever someone suggests that U.S. intelligence agencies might have been involved in the JFK killing, the immediate attitude of the U.S. mainstream press is exactly the opposite: “Conspiracy theory! Conspiracy theory!”

The Difference.

I guess this just proves that it is an emotional issue more than it is an intellectual issue. People resist what they don't want to know. Intellectually and emotionally they can deal with a Bhutto inside job or assassination, but they sure can't emotionally handle the reality that 9/11 or Kennedy might have been committed by their own government.

How we can get people over these emotional hurdles is something that George Washington and others have talked about.

They can intellectually figure it out when it is in countries like Pakistan, but when it is at home it hits a little too close to home and they reject it.

People don't want to know the truth because its too disturbing or they feel helpless to do anything about it. We need to show them we can handle the truth and we can do something about it, and we have good reasons to do it. A better more just world.

Hi Orangutan,

Hi Orangutan,

My alternate speculation is that the media is complicit in a cover up, therefore attacking all suggestions of 9-11 as a conspiracy.

The same media is now allowing reporters to themselves suggest that there is an inside job in the Bhutto assassination because that is their marching order from the top. Why would they be told to do this - perhaps to pressure Musharraf to do something he does not like.

From day 1, the media has never been an unbiased, objective source of 9-11 information.

WTC 9-11-2001 was a Neocon-Zionist conspiracy-
The WTC was destroyed by controlled demo-

Surely both positions are true

I think that both mechanisms are at work, mutually supportive. The MSM cover-up makes it easier to ignore the obvious implications of black operations conducted within the country.
