Call to Action — Please Respond!
This week on Bill Moyers Journal, Bill reported on the answers by the democratic candidates about what book, other than the Bible, they would take to the White House.
And now Bill wants to know what book we would take. We can post responses on his blog. And he will report the answers next week on his show.
To make a greater impact, one that they theoretically cannot ignore, let's PLEASE all choose the same book to give it an extremely high rating.
I'm just going to pick one, because it's not the specific book that is important (in this scenario), it's that we all choose the same one! (and that it is about 9/11 Truth, and have "9/11" in the title)
So let's use: "Debunking 9/11 Debunking" by David Ray Griffin
If you add additional comments, please make them short and on a separate line after a blank line after the above title of the book.

On a recent C-SPAN Book TV show, Lewis Lapham of Harper's Magazine, told Brian Lamb he was reading "DeBunking 9/11 DeBunking" by David Ray Griffin and that it raised some sharp questions about the world trade center building collapses on 9/11.

At this point, maybe we should mention some other books
I think our point has been made, so, so they don't start not publishing our posts, maybe we should start mentioning some other 9/11 Truth books. And authors. Although DRG is so prolific, you could choose any one of his others. (I didn't choose his 9/11 Commission Report book because I thought that might confuse people with the actual report)
And maybe even mention some DVD's instead of books. Some people aren't "readers", so I think that's valid — you could even qualify your comment:
I'm not much of a book reader, so I would take Richard Gage's DVD "9/11: Blueprint for Truth — The Architecture of Destruction".

Except I'm pretty sure the question specifically mentioned books as the suggestions they were seeking. So as valuable as some DVDs are, I think it's best to stick with the bibliophile mentality of this particular forum.

Does that mean ALL of the many posts in favor of a Griffin book are now disqualified, or only that they've seen enough--have reached their limit--and aren't going to accept any more?

I just meant to point out that someone else on the Moyers thread had accused 911 truthers of spamming the thread with the Griffin title, and that perhaps using some other important 911 issue/titles might better reflect the varied and broad based audience that 911 truth reflects.
btw - I have since noticed that several people have been able to post a recommendation for the Walt - Mearsheimer book, so it would appear that "A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm" or "Political Ponerology" are the titles that might be too dangerous for Bill to allow on his thread....a peculiar reaction I have seen on other so called "progressive" web sites as well. How strange is that?? A paper written in part by our very own DOD Under Secretary of Defense - is too naughty to be mentioned anywhere? Enquiring minds want to know!

Just saw Barry Zwicker's book
at my university bookstore. Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-up of 9/11 (2006). Couldn't buy it but skimmed it and it looked good. I don't hear much about it - anyone read it?
DRG's book is good - I don't agree with all his facts and inferences, but I especially like his deconstruction of the idea of "conspiracy theory," and that seems like a fine book to recommend. Tarpley's book is better in some ways, but the cover and format is a bit hoaky and the footnoting is inadequate.
This book has some excellent articles, too, especially those by John McMurtry and Richard Falk:

Falk is a well-known Princeton professor of international law and this is the only place he has published on 9/11. He hedges, not takling a position on negligence, let it happen, or made it happen, but but great analysis of why any could be true. I wish he would publish this on the Internet.

I would take David Ray Griffin's Debunking 9/11 Debunking. It blows holes in the "official conspiracy theory" of 9/11. The evidence presented by "Debunking" could end our present and future Wars of Terror.

1.) This question is for all of the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates participating in the presidential super dialogue: Since 9/11, many citizens, scientists, scholars, politicians, and engineers have continued to challenge the government's official explanation of 9/11. Considering this, are you in favor of opening up a new and truly independent investigation of 9/11? Why or why not?
2.) This question is for all of the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates participating in the presidential super dialogue: Oil depletion is an issue of grave importance as virtually all of America is dependent on oil for energy. As president, how will you address the threat of peak oil?
EDIT: Ron Paul did a great job and the polls support this, but strangely, in the middle of the online poll during his discussion, I was no longer able to vote on his views. AND, the reporter from the Washington Post (I think) made his opinion subtly clear that the poll results favoring Ron Paul were likely a result of the organization of Ron Paul's online presence (as if the results couldn't be genuine because of this). WTF?
MORE EDIT: And THEN after Hillary Clinton's results were in, you could see the monitor screen over the shoulder of the Washington Post reporter indicating that most of the online voters "were not buying it" (meaning HC's message was not resonating with online voters), but for some strange reason, these results were not announced to the viewing audience! AGAIN, this is another indication that these forums, and the polling results they provide, are RIGGED!!!

Today I heard "The Shell Game" NY Times best selling author on Philly AM mainstream talk radio call "9/11 truthers heroes"
and say 9/11 was an inside job . . .
. . . but the only thing "I" read for the most part is attacks on this courageous NY Time best selling author for his truth telling book "The Shell Game" from the so-called 9/11 truth movement . . .

I get the same static from LOTS of people here every time I try to explain why Ron Paul should stay as far away from 9/11 truth as he can until he has more traction in the presidential race. Pick you battles wisely, I always say, as you can't fight on every front. Sometimes you just have to play possum. And just look at the results! Not a SINGLE diversionary 9/11 truth question has been put to Ron Paul since he made clear his (alleged) position on 9/11 truth during the last FOX debate. To that I say GOOD.
One more thing to all the naysayers: What do you feel is a better situation for 9/11 truth? No candidate openly endorsing 9/11 truth, yet being in favor of it, with the eventual result of said candidate getting the presidential nomination? Or many candidates openly endorsing 9/11 truth, yet with none ultimately getting the presidential nomination? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

You could not be more wrong I'm afraid as the main reason that Paul got as much support as he did was because of his Internet support from 9/11 truth people that were misled to believe that he was a 9/11 truth advocate. If he came out strongly and unwaveringly FOR 9/11 truth his poll numbers would triple.

That is quite an indictment
considering that 9/11 truth-related issues are virtually all anyone ever discusses here at 911Blogger.com. ;)
But to be fair, using 9/11 truth as a standard, The Shell Game so far (I'm almost done) is a must-read, IMHO. So I fail to see the problem with promoting it as long and hard as necessary with the goal of getting it onto the bestseller list.

I haven't bought it yet. I was afraid, however, that it was going to be a "9/11 Truth-Lite" book, and basically focus on non-"mainstream" 9/11 Truth issues, and take a tack of "it happened because we want 'their' oil", and maybe so-called LIHOP-type scenarios, and that sort of thing. That's what the website marketing implies, anyway. (which is okay, because it is just a work of fiction)
They seem to have taken two tacks on "marketing": 9/11 Truth ("lite") and Peak Oil
Probably because Peak Oil is so popular now, and there is some cross-over, but not all PO's are 9/11 Truthers, and probably not even a majority of them, if even close to that. (ftr: I am not a "peak oil" enthusiast, or even believer, really, but I do have to do more research on it)

I have posted several times to do this exact same thing...
...but it never gets through to a thread.
If we all searched via Yahoo and Google for the same relevant term like "9/11 Controlled Demolitions," it would drive the search results up for that. You also need to go through the results and click on the 'real info' and close your browser out without hitting the back button. It is imperative to not click on the disinformation and 'bump' those results...bury them.
Pick a new keyword term per day:
Monday: "9/11 Controlled Demolitions"
Tuesday: "9/11 What hit the Pentagon"
Wednesday: "9/11 Truth"
Thursday: "9/11 WTC7"
You get the idea. We all need to search the same exact term and spike the results.

It makes me sick that people are telling you to dismiss David Ray Griffin's Debunking 9/11 Debunking book simply because many activists have suggested it on this forum. We are extremely concerned about where this country is going, and it is clear that those who have actually read the book understand its significance. The real truth about the ‘debunking 9/11 debunking’ recommendations is that prior to an invitation on a 9/11 blog to spam this thread, there was only one recommendation for that book out of a total of 695 recommendations. Supposedly that lone recommendation was by the spammer himself. After his invitation there were 158 recommendations for that book out of 936 posts (until the time of this post).
Many 9/11 people are legitimately in search of real truth, but these spammers are ruining it for everyone as spam always does.
Must I be the only defender against these ridiculous claims? YES, somebody informed the 9/11 truth movement about this thread. But NO, we members were not dragged here like helpless sheep and forced to participate in this presidential book recommendation forum. The truth is, and speaking only for myself, if anyone asked me to immediately name, right off the top of my head, one of the very best books I have ever read, I would have to say -- YUP, you guessed it -- "Debunking 9/11 Debunking" by David Ray Griffin! To better prove my point, I offer any one of you scalding critics a challenge. Go to your favorite website(s) and spread the news about this thread. Recommend a book -- any book that you like or that has inspired you -- and lets just see how many passionate and motivated people jump buck wild at the opportunity to promote your suggestion. No offense, but my guess is that you won't see too much support for your favorite pick. And to me, that's says everything right there.
