Edit: Here's an interesting question. Noam Chomsky generally will never admit that he was mistaken (e.g., his essay on media coverage of the Khmer Rouge), but does the same apply to Alexander Cockburn? If Counterpunch actually shifts its overall position on 9/11 Truth (and all this article does is to show they are censoring less, not that they have changed), I could see it having a big effect in the alternative media, and not just on the left.
I hope they do. If they don't change their position, then someday all Cockburn will be remembered for is this silly piece:

The gatekeepers' walls will continue to crumble as the evidence re 9/11 continues to mount - much the same way the lies (not mistakes) of WMD and war for oil has begun to be accepted by the mainstream - and they'll lose credibility if they DON'T report on it . . .
I do enjoy Counterpunch - just not how the 9/11 truth issue has been treated.

Counterpunch let a glimmer of 9/11 truth slip by -- oopsy daisy! -- but its libertarian counterpart, Justin Raimondo's antiwar.com, made no such mistake in its campaign to black out anything about MIHOP (even that there's such a thing as MIHOP theory in circulation -- if all one did is read antiwar.com, one wouldn't know MIHOP supporters and their ideas even exist -- as Eric Garris, antiwar.com's and lewrockwell.com's webmaster, proudly admitted in an email to me).

Note that the latest Roberts syndicated column cited above, "Two Morons: Bush and Saakashvili", is excluded from the list, despite the fact that antiwar.com pays a reprint subscription fee for _all_ those columns, whether antiwar.com posts them or not. Remember that as antiwar.com pleads for your money: You might email them and ask why, if they're so needy, they systematically black out all Roberts columns that mention 9/11 truth issues, even though they pay for rights to those columns anyway. Why is antiwar.com so determined to keep its readers in the dark?
This caught my eye.

Thanks for the link. I had this dopey thing thrown back at me by my lawyer, who disdains 9/11 Truth. I batted it down but did not know the origin. Now I see what this character wrote. It would be so easy to debunk this debunker...almost child's play. Clever writer; he'll fool a lot of people but he is toast in a factual debate.
I am a speaker and get 9/11 in every time I can. When I speak in the UK in October - 5 times; 5 places; all related to insurance stuff - I will be hammering home the message. I did this last year and was shocked at the warm reception I got. I would have to say the Brits are more receptive to 9/11 Truth than any American audiences. Hey, we'll take'em...the more, the merrier.
This site is spectacular and we are all indebted to Mike for his extraordinary commitment. A visit a day is the rule in this computer.

Paul Craig Roberts is spot on again...
I so admire this man for his insight and courage to speak truth to power.
We need more people of his caliber to step up and expose this insane bullshit.
I know they are out there. It is just a matter of whether they have the balls.
We know something that many are learning about 9/11...
We all know how hard it is to break into some folks "minds" about 9/11...and we have developed many brilliant DVDS and videos and the like to help out. And, we have also developed some fantastic NEW interpersonal skill sets when yapping it up in public that are effective at dealing with the wide variety of citizens we chat with on any given public action. We know how to handle such a deep taboo subject...others are just beginning to learn our "schtick".
I see this piece as an example of a CIVIL way to "slip in" some stuff about 9/11 in such a manner so as to not "corner" the reader which woud raise their defenses. Many folks are still uptight about the 9/11 subject.
I really think that many people at some upper levels of some media are Truthers...and if so, they will need ways to wiggle their stuff into the daily discourse...and we need tobe patient, positive, and helpful if we can be somehow...

Paul Craig Roberts hits another home run!
Roberts knows, first hand, the material from which the Neocons are cut. Roberts pure contempt for them is--well--wonderful! I believe, he realizes, the total lack of impulse control of this crowd. They know no restraint. Bush , once remarked, something to the effect, we'll keep going until someone stops us.
This lack of impulse control is reflected in the pressured insanity that propels them forward seeking out further conflicts. A psychiatrist would administer tranquilizers if they were so inclined to seek out help--which they're not. Bush is clearly an affected individual in a clinical sense.
There is a silver lining. The lack of restraint in their actions is becoming clear and should be a red flag for any reasonable individual. Their actions will end in an affront to any sense of good taste and will usher in their final chapters of any sort of political power.
The Jones interview of Roberts should be pleasurable to anyone, sharing total contempt for this government. Thank you, AJFAn.
