Not impressed with Corsi.

This morning C-SPAN interviewed Jerome Corsi and then followed up with a representative from David Brock's Media Matters for America. I would like to encourage interested parties to D/L the two interviews, and consider seriously the charges laid against Corsi.

My impression is that Corsi is far more interested in selling books than he is in staying on target with the truth. According to Media Matters, his book, "The Obama Nation", is rife with false claims and weak sourcing. Here are a few examples of false claims identified by Media Matters;

The Obama campaign has also published a 41-page rebuttal, pointing out a series of false claims by Corsi;

Corsi appears to be reviving the role he played smearing the John Kerry campaign in 2004 with the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" attacks. Corsi helped pave the way for 4 more years of Bush. I won't argue that 4 years of Kerry would have been better, but it's unlikely it could have been worse. Corsi appears to be paving the way for an extension of the PNAC agenda under McCain. How can this be any good?

If you agree that Corsi plays fast and loose with the truth, then what good can this be to 9/11 Truth?

His purpose is to discredit 9/11 truth

by linking his own personal brand of insanity to us.

To see Alex Jones jumping on Corsi's bandwagon shouldn't be a surprise, and it certainly exposes what AJ is really about.

Infowar

I found it very odd that Alex Jones' latest video truth rising (a film about 9/11 activism) did not mention the 11th day of the month campaign. See here for discussion: http://truthaction.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3793
This is a grass roots activism campaign which among other things hands out dvds (including Alex Jones DVDs like Terrorstorm), so I don't understand why Alex Jones does not appear to actively endorse the campaign. The 11th day of every month is about spreading 9/11 information and awareness.

As for Corsi, it is so obviously transparent what the purpose is here. It's very disappointing that he is regularly promoted on Alex Jones' radio show. It was also disappointing to me to see Alex Jones attack Webster Tarpley over his positions on Ron Paul (who doesn't even support 9/11 truth) but to not even address the divisive attacks against Cindy Sheehan (and 9/11 activists who reported these attacks)--someone who does endorse 9/11 truth and who has appeared on his radio show endorsing 9/11 truth.

I get the feeling Jones

isn't aware of the 11th day truth actions, or at least he wasn't aware when he made Truth Rising. It also looks like Luke Rudowski had some input into that film, which features prominently We Are Change and features very little Jones himself.

As for Corsi, he is a distraction.

Catch 22 for McCain

Has Corsi endorsed a candidate? His high-profile attack on Obama cannot gain traction if he is dismissed as a 'truther". But if he is thus discredited, his Obama attack cannot benefit McCain except in the sense that his status as OCT apologist is protected. If he is not popularly discredited, Corsi's 9/11 opinion necessarily implicates Popular Mechanics poster boy McCain in the cover-up.

So Corsi is a net win for Obama.

I haven't watched anything...

Or read anything having to do with Corsi. I've been busy doing my own thing. However, based on what people are saying here, and based on the fact that the "debunkers" are focusing on him relentlessly, tells me that he is probably here to discredit us.

It's a great system. Periodically, someone whom we wouldn't want as a representative of 9/11 Truth is put forward as such, and the "debunkers" jump on him, and say, "Ha Ha... aren't they idiots, holocaust deniers, terrorists and terrorist sympathizers, racists, lunatics, conspiracy theorists, etc... etc... etc...?"

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? Do we deserve to know how and why 9/11 happened?
