Pourtant, la thèse du complot, remettant en cause l’existence même des attentats, avancée par l’humoriste, va au-delà de la simple anecdote.

Avant lui, l’actrice Marion Cotillard, qui a reçu un Oscar à Hollywood pour le film « la Môme », avait déjà relayé cette thèse qui compte des milliers de supporteurs dans le monde. Des milliers de personnes convaincues que la version officielle est mensongère et que l’on a tout fait pour que les citoyens croient en la version officielle sans se poser de questions.
Sans arguments rationnels
Librairies, Internet, télévisions, les promoteurs de la thèse du grand complot du 11 Septembre utilisent tous les médias pour faire vibrer la corde du doute. Et tant mieux s’ils sont boycottés ou vilipendés. Pour eux, il s’agit d’une preuve supplémentaire qu’ils sont dans le vrai. L’exemple le plus récent, c’est le documentaire baptisé « Loose Change », vu par plusieurs centaines de milliers d’internautes français, qui bat en brèche la thèse officielle à coups de montages vidéo saisissants et de témoignages chocs validant l’implication de l’administration Bush dans les attentats.
Alors, tant pis pour les évidences, tant pis pour les victimes d’avions qui n’auraient jamais existé, tant pis pour les mois d’enquêtes et d’expertises, tant pis même pour les images que chacun a vu des dizaines et des dizaines de fois sur les écrans de télévision. Les adeptes de la grande conspiration resteront persuadés envers et contre tout qu’« on » leur a menti. Sans arguments rationnels, ce qui condamne toute réponse logique. Juste en faisant vivre quelques contradictions qui deviennent pour eux la base de tout leur discours. Ce même discours tenu par Jean-Marie Bigard dans un studio de radio, salué par des rires gênés et quelques moqueries.

«SUR LE COUP, ça nous a plutôt fait rire. Justement parce que ça ne paraît pas pensable. » En recevant Jean-Marie Bigard, vendredi dernier sur Europe 1, Laurent Ruquier ne s’attendait pas du tout à ce que l’humoriste s’engage sur le terrain risqué de la remise en question des attentats de 2001. « C’est un missile américain qui frappe le Pentagone, on le sait maintenant, (…) C’est une démolition programmée », s’est-il emporté alors qu’une discussion s’ouvrait sur la politique américaine.
« Vraiment, vous pensez ça ? » l’a interrompu Laurent Ruquier. Persuadé que Ben Laden « est mort depuis longtemps », Jean-Marie Bigard a même invité ses voisins de table à aller se documenter, comme lui, sur Internet. « C’est une thèse qui n’est pas nouvelle, temporise l’animateur d’Europe 1. Ce qui est nouveau, en revanche, c’est que mon ami Jean-Marie Bigard lui apporte son crédit. » Hier, l’animateur a ouvert son émission en reconnaissant que certains auditeurs avaient pu être choqués.
Il « persiste et signe »
Son directeur des programmes et de la programmation, Philippe Balland, partage en tout cas son analyse : « Ce n’est pas un couac du tout, Jean-Marie Bigard est libre de s’exprimer. Même si on réprouve ses propos, qui n’engagent que lui. » Surtout, l’un et l’autre plaident la surprise : « On ne l’a pas invité pour parler de ça, et nous ne nous sommes pas transformés en porte-voix de quelqu’un de connu pour soutenir cette thèse », ajoute le dirigeant d’Europe 1. La séquence, enregistrée vendredi à la mi-journée, a été abrégée davantage pour des raisons de production que par crainte des remous éventuels. Serein, Philippe Balland n’est « pas plus chagriné par cette affaire que ne l’étaient les dirigeants de Paris Première lorsque Marion Cotillard s’est exprimée » sur le 11 Septembre dans l’émission « Paris Dernière », remettant elle aussi en cause la réalité des attentats. Quant à Jean-Marie Bigard, que nous n’avons pu joindre, il « persiste et signe », d’après un proche.

A quelques jours de la cérémonie marquant le 7 e anniversaire des attentats du 11 Septembre, la « théorie du complot » autour de ce triste événement est toujours aussi vivace. Pendant la convention républicaine, qui se tenait à Saint Paul (Minnesota) la semaine dernière, les supporteurs de Ron Paul, candidat à l’investiture du Parti républicain pour l’élection 2008, affirmaient à qui voulait bien l’entendre que l’attaque terroriste était bien l’oeuvre de l’administration du président George W.
Bush. « Où sont les images de l’avion frappant le Pentagone ? hurlaient-ils devant les caméras de la chaîne de télévision MSNBC. Ben Laden n’a rien à voir là-dedans. Le gouvernement nous cache des choses ! Amérique, réveille-toi ! »
La question du WTC 7
Au mois d’août, après une enquête de trois ans, l’Institut national des standards et de la technologie, Nist, une agence gouvernementale, a établi un rapport concluant que le feu était bien la cause de l’effondrement du World Trade Center 7, WTC 7, le gratte-ciel de 47 étages situé à côté des tours jumelles. Pour rappel, l’effondrement de cet immeuble, sept heures après la chute des Twin Towers, avait alimenté les hypothèses d’une destruction à l’explosif. Cette conclusion du Nist n’a pas satisfait les partisans de la théorie du complot, parmi lesquels, l’architecte californien Richard Gage, président du mouvement, Architectes et ingénieurs pour découvrir la vérité autour de 9/11. « A part WTC 7, précise-t-il dans les colonnes du New York Times , aucun gratte-ciel dans l’histoire des Etats-Unis ne s’est jamais effondré à cause d’un incendie. »

LES FICELLES sont grossières, les recettes du documentaire à sensation (voix off, ton dramatique) sont de sortie. Surtout, l’incohérence de l’argumentaire domine. Malgré tout, la mayonnaise de Dylan Avery a pris. Son documentaire « Loose Change », dans lequel il essaie de démontrer que l’ombre de l’administration Bush plane sur les attentats du 11 Septembre, a déjà fait le tour du monde et continue d’alimenter le buzz sur la Toile.
Hier en début de soirée, le site de Dailymotion annonçait 122 618 vues pour la deuxième version du « documentaire » sous-titrée en français. Une heure plus tard, 10 000 internautes de plus avaient téléchargé la vidéo.
Des témoignages savamment sélectionnés
En mai 2002, lorsqu’il se lance dans ce projet, Dylan Avery n’est pas un conspirationniste de la première heure. Seulement un jeune réalisateur en quête de célébrité. Mais il a retenu cette confidence de James Gandolfini, la vedette des « Sopranos », qui lui conseille « d’avoir quelque chose à dire au monde » s’il veut « devenir célèbre ». Le doute à propos des attentats des tours jumelles commence à envahir l’Amérique. Il s’en empare. Deux ans plus tard, il livre son premier « documentaire », affiné par la suite. Mais d’une version à l’autre, le plan est identique, les mécanismes ne varient guère. Avery reprend à son compte les rumeurs et s’efforce de les ériger en vérité à coups de décryptages de vidéos, de zooms et de témoignages savamment sélectionnés. Ainsi, celui de ce badaud qui affirme ne pas « avoir vu de hublot » sur l’un des avions qui s’abat sur les tours. Conclusion de « Loose Change » : « ce n’était pas un avion de ligne », mais un avion militaire. Certains ont vu un trait lumineux avant l’impact du deuxième avion. Un missile ? Le réalisateur zoome sur la vidéo, revient en arrière, à plusieurs reprises. « Vous avez vu ? » interroge-t-il. Non, rien d’autre que des pixels grossis à l’extrême. Mais qu’à cela ne tienne, selon lui un missile a bien été tiré du deuxième avion.
Pour confirmer la thèse que ce n’est pas un Boeing 757 qui s’est écrasé sur le Pentagone, il reprend les images d’un journaliste qui témoigne en direct, le 11 septembre, sur place. Le reporter, prudent, déclare alors : « Nous n’avons pas encore la preuve qu’un avion soit tombé dans les environs du Pentagone.» Pour Dylan Avery, cette déclaration suffit à prouver que le Boeing n’a jamais existé…

AVEC les attentats du 11 Septembre, les conspirationnistes mondiaux ont trouvé un terrain de manoeuvre sans limites. En France, c’est le livre de Thierry Meyssan qui a le premier allumé la mèche en 2002. « L’Effroyable Imposture » pulvérise alors la thèse officielle : pas d’avion crashé sur le Pentagone, les attentats organisés « de l’intérieur »… Cette bible du complot s’arrache en librairie et malgré les démentis et les faiblesses des arguments, elle garde encore aujourd’hui des milliers de défenseurs et de promoteurs à travers le monde.
« Les personnes qui adhèrent à ces thèses sont quasiment dans une démarche de foi. C’est une croyance, donc il n’y a pas de débat possible avec eux », résume Jean Guisnel, journaliste au « Point » et coauteur avec Guillaume Dasquié de « l’Effroyable Mensonge », un livre de contre-enquête sur l’ouvrage de Thierry Meyssan. « Pour démonter ce qu’ils avancent, il faut effectuer un travail titanesque, qu’ils jugeront biaisé de toute façon. »
« On vous cache des choses »
Pour trouver le pape de la théorie du complot, il faut aller aux Etats-Unis, terre de Lyndon LaRouche, un polémiste qui a inspiré très largement les promoteurs de la conspiration. Aujourd’hui, ses disciples parcourent le monde, diffusent des documentaires ou montent des sites Internet. La Toile est devenue un vecteur rêvé. Pour rendre leurs hypothèses crédibles, les conspirationnistes appliquent une logique implacable. Exemple pour le crash de l’avion sur le Pentagone : les autorités refusent de fournir les vidéos des caméras de surveillance ? Donc il n’y a jamais eu de crash. Certaines photos du site ne font pas apparaître de débris de l’appareil ? Donc il n’y a jamais eu d’avion. Une fois le principe posé, tout ce qui va venir s’y opposer sera forcément suspect. Les témoins ? Ils sont à la solde des organisateurs des attentats. Les débris effectivement retrouvés ? On les a apportés sur place. Les experts qui valident la thèse officielle ? Comment croire des scientifiques proches du pouvoir… Du coup, l’immense rapport d’enquête sur les attentats publié en 2004 ou les récentes conclusions de l’Institut officiel de normalisation américain (NIST) sur l’effondrement de la tour 7 du World Trade Center sont balayés d’un revers de main.
Le ciment qui scelle les thèses conspirationnistes est complexe. Mais il utilise le ressort bien connu du « complot mondial » qu’on peut résumer ainsi : « On vous cache des choses. La vérité est ailleurs mais personne n’ose vous la dire. » Et face à une administration Bush qui n’a pas toujours brillé par sa transparence, les conspirationnistes jouent sur du velours. Si Bush a pu mentir sur les armes de destruction massive en Irak, alors il a pu mentir sur le reste.
Aussi, peu importe les images maintes fois vues des avions percutant les tours, peu importe les certificats de décès des passagers de l’appareil qui s’est écrasé sur le Pentagone, peu importe les kamikazes et même peu importe Ben Laden. Pour eux, « la vérité est ailleurs », comme dans la série « X-Files »…

In the beginning, there where only a few quite unusual individuals who called the official version of the events into question.
Later, dozens of specialists of both building and demolition of buildings, university professors and pilots started asking disturbing questions. Many people have criticized and contradicted the August 2004 9/11 Congressional Investigation Report. According to them, the official history does not hold, no more than the towers of the World Trade Center held standing.
Seven years after the tragedy, a demonstration will gather in Brussels (on September 7th, at 2 pm, at Place Schuman), and yet again citizens who will demand the opening of an independent and international criminal inquiry into these mass-murders that have been blamed on Al-Qaeda, « pretext of too many wars and lies ». The initiative has received the support of Pr. David Ray Griffin, author of “The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions” » (Editions Demi-Lune, 2006), and of the independent Euro-Parliamentarian Giulietto Chiesa, author of the documentary « Zero », which questions the official story of the attacks provided by Washington.
Fire or explosions in the WTC 7?
Sunday’s demonstration is organized just as NIST has finally released its report to give the official version of why the third tower collapsed. Who remembers this « tower 7 », a 47-storeyed building of about 200 metres high? No plane crashed into the "Salomon Brothers" building. It collapsed on itself about seven hours after the twin towers.
« It collapsed in less than seven seconds, at approximately free-fall speed », specifies Jean-Luc Guilmot, a Belgian engineer, and councilman for the Chaumont-Gistoux Green Party. « The official thesis of a collapse caused by fires defies the laws of physics.
There has never been a concrete sky-scraper with a steel structure that collapsed due to fire only, not even due to massive fires. On the other hand, the disappearing tower 7 showed all the characteristics of a controlled demolition. "
Guilmot and others have made efforts to inform others in Belgium to this point of view defended by those who define themselves as "Thruthers", or researchers of the truth of what actually happened on September 11th 2001. They have, according to 430 architects and engineers within the association AE911Truth, found the residues of military explosives of the type thermite in the dust and remains of "Ground Zero" and some evidence of steel that has suffered temperatures well above those that carbon fires can bring.
Dozens of New York firefighters are on record to have heard the noise of explosions inside of the building. The report on WTC 7, published in the end of August 2008 by « National Institute of Standards and Technology » (NIST), a governmental agency, rejects this last affirmation and reasserts that fire was alone the cause of WTC 7’s collapse. For most media, this report put an end, once and for all, about the disputed way of disappearance of WTC 7.
So should we draw the curtain here? Not for the opponents in the official tale. According to them, the hypothesis of a psychological “mise en scène” is obvious. But Guilmot does not want to be assimilated has those who spread rumors and unreliable accusations on the net. He demands a scientific debate method be followed and rejects the title of "Conspirationniste", a neologism often used for designate “Thruthers”.
But, if there was a controlled demolition of the towers of WTC, who where responsible for it and which were the motives of this spectacular action? “To answer these questions, would be to enter the realm of speculation », the Belgian engineer says carefully. Other voices within « the 9/11 truth movement » nevertheless do not hesitate to accuse the "hawks" of the American administration, who could have been looking for a pretext to justify going after geo-political interests in the region of Iraq and Afghanistan.
« The sole idea that a faction of one’s own Government would be involved with these dramatic events remains unimaginable for most people, assures Guilmot. The crime against humanity committed in New York is, however, in my sense, the biggest mass psychological manipulation of the recent history. »

Au début, seuls quelques allumés de la théorie du complot ont mis en doute la version officielle des événements. Par la suite, des dizaines de spécialistes de la construction et de la destruction d'immeubles, de professeurs d'université et de pilotes ont posé des questions troublantes. Beaucoup ont critiqué et contredit le rapport de la commission d'enquête parlementaire américaine d'août 2004 sur le 11-Septembre. Selon eux, l'histoire officielle ne tient pas debout, pas plus que n'ont tenu debout les tours du World Trade Center.
Sept ans après la tragédie, une manifestation rassemblera, à Bruxelles (le 7 septembre, à 14 heures, au rond-point Schuman), des citoyens qui exigeront, une fois de plus, l'ouverture d'une enquête indépendante et internationale sur ces attentats attribués à Al-Qaeda, « prétexte à trop de guerres et de mensonges ». Guilmot et d'autres tentent de diffuser en Belgique ce point de vue défendu par ceux qui se définissent comme des « thruthers », des chercheurs de vérité.
