From a DEMOCRACY NOW Transcript:

"only willful ignorance can maintain that the 9/11 narrative should be treated as a closed book."

....AMY GOODMAN: Professor Falk, the New York Times had a piece called “UN Rights Investigator Expelled by Israel,” not exactly what I would call sympathetic to you. I just wanted to read one quote from that article. It says, Richard Falk “has compared Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to Nazi atrocities and has called for more serious examination of the conspiracy theories surrounding the Sept. 11 attacks. Pointing to discrepancies between the official version of events and other versions, he recently wrote that ‘only willful ignorance can maintain that the 9/11 narrative should be treated as a closed book.’” Your response?

RICHARD FALK: Yeah. Well, that’s part of this whole effort to shift the focus to me and away from the reality and, at the same time, to somehow paint me as some kind of conspiracy person or theorist, which is absolutely untrue. What is true is that I wrote the forward to the original book of David Griffin, a longtime friend of mine, which is the most prominent challenge to the validity of the official version of 9/11, and I continue to hold the view that the 9/11 Commission did not adequately address the difficult questions about what happened on 9/11 that he raised. But I haven’t ever and do not now endorse any kind of conspiracy theory. All I think that is true is that the American people and the world deserve a fuller and more credible investigation of those events. ...

"Revolution is an ugly word to use, but I think we were dangerously close at least to the threat of it."

Excerpt from ROOSEVELT AND HOPKINS An Intimate History
by Robert E. Sherwood

(Harry Hopkins was a social worker/community organizer who became President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's "right hand man." Sherwood was a prominent playwright who worked in the White House as one of FDR's main speechwriters.)

....Roosevelt knew he could trust Walker to report if Hopkins were showing signs of going crazy and producing dangerous political repercussions throughout the country. Indeed, in the early days of C.W.A. [Civil Works Administration], such reports did come into the headquarters of the National Emergency Council from its State Directors. Some of them were almost hysterical with alarm at the intimations of wholesale waste and even corruption in the program. Walker decided to take a trip through the country and see for himself. He returned to Washington with the assurance that C.W.A. was doing more than all the other New Deal measures to boost morale. He said that in his own home State of Montana, "I saw old friends of mine -- men I had been to school with -- digging ditches and laying sewer pipe. They were wearing their regular business suits as they worked because they couldn't afford overalls and rubber boots. If I ever thought, 'There, but for the grace
of God---' it was right then." The sight of these old friends made him feel sick at heart, but when he talked to individuals he felt very differently, for they were happy to be working and proud of what they were doing. One of them pulled some silver coins out of his pocket and showed them to Walker. "Do you know, Frank," he said, "this is the first money I've had in my pockets in a year and a half? Up to now, I've had nothing but tickets that you exchange for groceries." Another said "I hate to think what would have happened if this work hadn't come along. The last of my savings had run out. I'd sold or hocked everything I could. And my kids were hungry. I stood in front of the window of the bake-shop down the street and I wondered just how long it would be before I got desperate enough to pick up a rock and heave it through that window and grab some bread to take home." It was not only hunger from which these men suffered; it was the deep sense of
indignity and of grave injury to their national pride. The analogy used by President Roosevelt in his Inaugural Address was far from inappropriate: Americans felt as if, at a time when their country was being invaded and ravaged by alien enemies, their government had failed to provide them with any weapons for defense. Now, armed with a shovel, or even a rake, they felt able to fight back. "Leaf raking" became the term of supreme opprobrium for the New Deal, but great numbers of people who did the raking preferred it to breadlines or grocery tickets.

Walker said to Roosevelt: "I'd pay little attention to those who criticize the creation of C.W.A. or its administration. Hopkins and his associates are doing their work well. They've done a magnificent job. It is amazing when you consider that within the short time since C.W.A. was established four million idle have been put to work. During Christmas week many of them were standing in a payroll line for the first time in eighteen months. You have every reason to be proud of C.W.A. and its administration. It is my considered opinion that this has averted one of the most serious crises in our history. Revolution is an ugly word to use, but I think we were dangerously close at least to the threat of it."...

....The direct and unmistakable benefits to the jobless and their families were augmented by many evidences of business revival. Within the first weeks of C.W.A. shoe stores all over the country began to report that they were sold out and shoe factories began to reopen to meet the enormously increased demand.

C.W.A. came none too soon. That winter of 1933-34 was a terrible one. The temperature went to 56 degrees below zero in parts of New England and to 6 degrees below even in Washington, D.C. where the legislators could feel it. This was the first of a series of natural calamities -- including droughts, floods and hurricanes -- which occurred during these years as if to test the Roosevelt Administration in its program for national recovery. Hopkins had to increase his efforts to meet widespread suffering. By mid-January nearly twenty million people were dependent on Federal relief for the essentials of life and the $400 millions granted to C.W.A. was almost gone. Hopkins, with White House approval, went to the Congress for $950 millions more.

The Republican National Committee denounced him and C.W.A.....

[Hopkins' return from his critical mission to Moscow during WWII:]

....Hopkins caried his essential medicines -- without which he could not live -- in a small satchel. Through some unaccountable error, this had been left behind in Moscow. He was desperately ill on the return flight....

[the pilot] McKinley's instructions for landing at Scapa Flow were so indefinite that he did not know where he was supposed to come down for delivery of Hopkins. He therefore picked the spot which looked most sheltered and least cluttered with ships. On landing, he managed to establish contact by blinker signal with an armed trawler and was told this was the wrong place. The sea was too rough to taxi several miles to the right place, so he took off again and finally spotted the admiral's launch which was to take Hopkins off. When they landed in a narrow and turbulent lane between ships, the tail of the PBY was slapped up and down by the waves and Hopkins was being slapped with it. The plane and the launch maneuvered about until the launch got her bow close enough ... for Hopkins to jump. A sailor with a boathook hauled him, sprawling, across the slippery deck to safety. His luggage was then tossed after him, including the priceless papers which set
forth the Soviet position in detail....

When the launch delivered Hopkins to Admiral Sir John Tovey, Commander in Chief of the Home Fleet, at Scapa Flow, it was feared that President Roosevelt's personal representative might not live long enough to make his report from the Kremlin. Hopkins seemed to be not only at the end of his rope but at the end of the last filament of the spider's web by which he was hanging on to life....

Actor and activist Ed Asner has signed the Architects and Engineers for 911Truth (AE911Truth) online petition and sent a letter of support.

The text of the letter reads:

October 6, 2008

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to thank Richard Gage, AIA and Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth for presenting the scientific facts behind the unprecedented destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7. AE911Truth presents solid research that contradicts the official story of the building's destruction with the overwhelming evidence of explosive controlled demolition.

An accurate understanding of history is required to make good decisions in the future. Over and over again, history has shown that the first public perceptions of historical events are not always correct. I, along with millions of others, have serious questions about our country's recent history about 9/11.

I have signed the petition calling for an unbiased investigation of the "collapses" of these three high-rise buildings. I encourage everyone to do the same, and also become a Sustaining Member of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth.

Dear Some of The Above News,

Congratulations on the fabulous and historic election of President Barack Obama!!!

As we celebrate our new President-elect and all the changes he will bring to our nation, we must not turn a blind eye to the final actions of George Bush.

Incredibly, Washington is already buzzing with Bush's plans to block all investigations of his crimes and even to pardon everyone involved - including Cheney and himself. Chris Matthews is even counting down the days .

Does Bush have the power to pardon everyone in his administration? Yes.

Will he abuse that power to stay out of jail? Only if we let him.

We must create a groundswell of opposition to any pardons by George Bush, so he understands that he will be impeached and prosecuted for issuing corrupt pardons.

Please help us launch a massive movement against pardons by signing our petition to Congress and telling your friends:

We will announce additional plans to stop Bush's pardons in the coming days. Read more about our efforts and join our discussion here:

Thanks for all you do!

From: TAX CUTS: The B.S. And The Facts

By Larry Beinhart, AlterNet. Posted November 11,

That tax cuts stimulate the economy is taken as a matter of
faith, but the brute facts suggest otherwise.

Do tax cuts stimulate the economy?

Yes. Tax cuts allow people to keep more of their own money.
Therefore, they have more to invest and spend into the
economy, and they have more money to start business and
create jobs, therefore also helping to stimulate the
economy. -- Yahoo Answers

I think when people take a look back at this moment in our
economic history, they'll recognize tax cuts work. They
have made a difference. -- George W. Bush

The brute facts are these:

Large income tax cuts are followed by a bubble and then a

High income taxes correlate with economic growth.

Income tax increases are followed by economic growth.

Moderate income tax cuts are followed by a flat economy.

All of this is especially true as applied to the top tax
rates, the amount paid on income that exceeds the highest

The Three Great Tax Cuts: Boom, Bubble, Crash

1. Hoover

During World War I, the top marginal tax rate went up to 73
percent -- not the highest ever, but pretty high.

In 1922, a series of rate cuts began. Down to 56 percent,
46 percent, and finally, in 1925, it went down to 25

The stock market took off. There was a boom. But the boom
was a bubble.

It was followed by the Great Crash of 1929.

There were bank failures and the Great Depression.

Governments can err, presidents do make mistakes, but the
immortal Dante tells us that Divine justice weighs the sins
of the cold-blooded and the sins of the warm-hearted on
different scales.

Better the occasional faults of a government that lives in
a spirit of charity than the consistent omissions of a
government frozen in the ice of its own indifference.

There is a mysterious cycle in human events. To some
generations much is given. Of other generations much is
expected. This generation of Americans has a rendezvous with

An Efficient Way to Spread Truth That Everyone Can Do
By Colombo

Since our mainstream media continue to censor 9/11 truth, I
urge everyone to begin “mass emailing” 9/11 truth
messages now! It is not difficult to
disseminate thousands of emails per day. Here are some tips
to get you started:

New York Times Bestselling Author Takes Aim at 9/11

Iraq war veteran and experienced demolitions expert blows
the cover on 9/11
inside job:

Meet Torin Wolf. He has a broad and varied background as a
US Army Combat Nurse during Operation Iraqi Freedom....

...The presentation moves on and goes through some of the just plain crazy theories of why the towers fell, such as space beams,
holograms, missiles, orbs, pterodactyls, etc., and easily
debunks them. Torin then adds, "There isevidence most
of these are put out by the government as disinfo."
Then explains how the White House, in violation of the law, has
bought 28 billion, "Billion with a B" in fake news.

"But the craziest, most truly unhinged conspiracy
theory for the towers falling on 9/11?" Torin asks rhetorically.
"Fire." The official story cannot be recreated by any experiment. NIST is the government agency involved in attempting to model what happened to the world trade center on 9/11, and they fail horribly....
