Sen. Schumer lends qualified support to a new 9-11 investigation

By Peter Duveen

PETER'S NEW YORK, Saturday, April 18, 2009--U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer (D-NY) said yesterday that while he was positively disposed toward a new investigation into the events of 9-11, his support for such a probe would depend on the form it would take.

Schumer, who was attending the launch of the Tour of the Battenkill annual bicycle races in Cambridge, New York, responded to a question regarding efforts in New York City to establish a new 9-11 investigation.

"I think it's not a bad idea," Schumer said. "You know, you've got to do it in a good way, but yes, I'd be for it."

Schumer qualified his remarks by noting that his support would depend upon the manner in which the investigation was structured. "I'd have to see the parameters of the investigation and all that," he said. He briefly mentioned "finding body parts," which may have referred to the discovery in 2006 that the roof of the Deutsche Bank building near the former site of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center was strewn with human remains from 9-11.

A report sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology maintains that the Twin Towers were brought down entirely due to fire and mechanical damage from the two airliners that collided with them on 9-11. A similar report by the same government agency asserts that the sudden and rapid collapse that same afternoon of a third office tower, the 47-story Building 7, was caused by fires triggered by the falling debris of the Twin Towers.

Critics of the 9-11 Commission Report and the two NIST studies cite the generation of a large quantity of small pieces of human remains and the distance the remains were carried after the collapses as evidence explosives were used to destroy the buildings. No government agency appears to have examined the human remains or the World Trade Center debris with the object of determining whether evidence of explosives was present, even though there were numerous reports of explosions on that day.

Among such reports were those carried in the New York Times the following day:

"Police officers warned people in the vicinity to move north, that the buildings could fall, but most people found that unthinkable. They stayed put or gravitated closer.

"Abruptly, there was an ear-splitting noise. The south tower shook, seemed to list in one direction and them (sic) began to come down, imploding upon itself.

"'It looked like a demolition,' said Andy Pollock.

"'It started exploding,' said Ross Milanytch, 57, who works at nearby Chase Manhattan Bank. 'It was about the 70th floor. And each second another floor exploded out for about eight floors, before the cloud obscured it all.'"

In the same edition, the Times, referring to the collapse of the North Tower, reported:

"Several people voiced the thought: 'Get out of here, the other tower's going to fall.'

"People started walking briskly north until the premonition became real--another horrifying eruption, as one floor after another seemed to detonate."

Critics of the NIST study on Building 7, including a growing number of scientists, engineers and other professionals, contend that fires alone would not have caused the building to collapse as rapidly as it did, if at all. The NIST report was primarily based on computer simulations, which critics maintain were tweaked to achieve the final result of total collapse, and are still not consistent with the way the building came down, straight into its own footprint at free-fall or close to free-fall speed.

The government asserts that the airliners that hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 were piloted by religiously motivated Moslems from the Middle East, who also commandeered two other airliners, one of which the government contends hit the Pentagon in Arlington, Va., and another which it says crashed in a field in rural Pennsylvania while being pursued by military aircraft intent on shooting it down.

The events of September 11 were used to justify a retaliatory invasion of Afghanistan for harboring Osama Bin Laden, a Saudi Arabian businessman and religious leader who the United States accused of instigating the 9-11 attacks. They were also used to defend the invasion of Iraq on the pretext that the enemy must be taken out before it attacks, a geopolitical doctrine known as preemtive war. Although the United States accused Iraq of harboring "weapons of mass destruction" such as chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, no evidence of such weaponry was found after the invasion, leaving open speculation as to the actual reason the United States invaded that country.

Some government critics fear that the U.S. military and intelligence agencies, under the leadership of the Bush White House, engineered the events of 9-11 in order to create a seminal event to justify the stifling of opposition at home while mounting costly wars of conquest in the Middle East under the banner of an international "war on terror." The government continues to defend its position on 9-11 on a number of web pages hosted by the U.S. State Department, and through surrogates in the media and other professions.

Schumer attended yesterday's event to support the incorporation of the Tour of Battenkill into races sponsored by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), a group that helps organize and oversees cycling races worldwide.

"I just love bicycling," he told a group of 20 or 30 people connected with the race, saying that he goes cycling every Saturday. "I'm not a spandex guy, I'm not a racer, I just get on the bicycle and ride forty or fifty miles around the different parts of New York City."

Schumer, 58, said he had taken up bicycling as advancing age precluded his participation in other sports such as basketball and running.

Skeptical

Major national political figures of the status of Schumer seem to act as controlled "agents" (for lack of a better term) and consistently committed to the left v. right political theater.

The federal government needs to be kept away from a new investigation.

There is too much evidence that they are occupied by and dedicated to criminal private interests that don't act in the public interest.

Feds: Open your books, release your people and get out of the way.

Schumer: ""I think it's not a bad idea. You know, you've got to do it in a good way, but yes, I'd be for it."

A "good way" may be code for not looking inward for the guilty, but instead expanding the searches of central asian cave complexes.

Anyone who saw Schumer in action during the Waco inquiry

will always be extremely sceptical of the man.

For anyone doubting the willingness of major political figures to pose as false allies, consider the case of Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

In 2007 he attended a Bilderberg conference. In 2009 he co-opted the Texas Patriot movement.

I do like that Schumer is being asked

this question.

The public should press him with valid questions & evidence.

Chucky

I trust this man not.

Madoff recipient

Schumer is a beneficiary of Madoff donations. That says it all.

"A Good Way"

I don't believe him for a NY minute, He's a phony. He's an insider. He's a liar! I don't think he rides 40-50 miles on a Sat either. I ride and even when you're in shape 30 miles is a good ride! Keep asking him 911 questions, how about the dancing Israelis next? Then you'll see his true colors flash!

'Parameters'

'...how about the dancing Israelis next?'

That may be what he means when he talks about those 'parameters' he'd need to see first. His position probably boils down to: sure, I'll support an 'investigation,' so long as I can be guaranteed that it's conclusions will continue to point squarely at those evil Muslim enemies of Israel.

I live in his state and do not care for him one bit, but I must admit I do like it when even an u;ltra-zionist uber-hawk like Schumer is thrown off course and made to hem and haw like this.

Free fall speed

"The NIST report was primarily based on computer simulations, which critics maintain were tweaked to achieve the final result of total collapse, and are still not consistent with the way the building came down, straight into its own footprint at free-fall or close to free-fall speed."

"Free fall speed" doesn't exist. Free fall acceleration does.
Explanation: What is free fall
Measurement of the acceleration of the North Tower by David Chandler: Downward Acceleration of the North Tower

I beg to differ

Free-fall speed (velocity) does indeed exist, and is given by the formula, v = gt, where g is the acceleration at that particular point due to gravity. As always, your feedback is much appreciated.

Re: I beg to differ

What I'm about to say should be considered constructive criticism, ofcourse :-)

Your formula and explanation are not entirely correct. The correct formula for calculating the speed of an object falling in vacuum is:
v(t) = -g t + v(0)

- v(t) is the speed of the object at time t in seconds
- Note the minus in front of g, this is because an object falling to earth has a negative acceleration and a negative speed. This indicates downward acceleration.
- v(0) is the initial speed; an object could be in motion already when one starts measuring. It could also, for example, have been thrown down.

When you say: "where g is the acceleration at that particular point due to gravity", it seems as though you mean g is variable, but it is a constant.
g = 9.802 m/s2 for NYC.

g does not change for the duration of the fall, unless ofcourse you are dealing with a fall of extreme height, where there will be measurable differences in gravitational pull, such as an object in orbit around earth entering the atmosphere and subsequently falling to earth.

Now, when attempting to determine if an object is in free fall, measuring its speed is not the way to go about it. What you want to do is measure the acceleration for the duration of the fall and plot it to see if, when and for how long free fall occured. Ask yourself: what speed is free fall speed? How many mph is free fall speed? You'll quickly discover you can't name a universal 'speed' for free fall. I think most of this stems from confusion with the term: Terminal Velocity

NIST attempted to exploit this misunderstanding. Debunkers attempt to exploit it by pointing to the fact that the fall times for the WTC buildings exceed that of the fall times associated with free fall from the respective heights. Measuring acceleration using many data points, on the other hand, points out the overwhelming implausibility of NIST's hypotheses. This is why I oppose the term "free fall speed" (which I do not see used in scientific articles or school books). I recommend this video by David Chandler, which predates his "NIST finally admits free fall" trilogy, but is unmatched for its clarity on the subject.

I look forward to your next article, in the mean time maybe I should consider writing an article about the above. Peace out, pduveen.

Well

briefly,
1. the buildings are considered at rest, so the initial velocity is zero, and our formulas in that respect become the same.
2. The direction of the coordinates is arbitrary, so the minus sign in your formula merely indicates your choice of coordinates, so our formulas become equivalent.
3. G varies with the distance between the gravitating masses, in this case the buildings and the earth. It also varies from place to place on the surface of the planet. The earth's rotation affects g, and that effect depends on where you are on the planet. I mentioned the point because I didn't want to be barraged by a flurry of email from debunkers.
4. As far as using the term speed, what we are really focusing on is the time it took for the buildings to drop, given their height. Certainly the acceleration is derived from the speed, and all the information about the acceleration is contained in the speed equation.
5. Velocity is a directed quantity, but since we are dealing in one direction here, it reduces, with the difference of a plus or minus sign, to the speed.
6. Speed is what the general public is more familiar with. Debunkers, who are generally a dishonest lot, want to pick apart small issues on semantics. So let me define free-fall speed. Free fall speed is the speed function of a body falling to earth unimpeded in a vacuum. We are focused on how quickly the buildings fell, and speed emphasizes this aspect.

I hope I have not been too defensive on my choice of words, and I look forward to your article on this subject.

Those who are skeptical of Schumer

may want to know that he had co-sponsored this interesting piece of legislation, S-527:

‘(2) CERTAIN EMISSIONS FROM AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION- No permit shall be issued under a permit program under this title for any carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, water vapor, or methane emissions resulting from biological processes associated with livestock production.’

Those who promote global warming want to tax natural emissions, as it will give them an excuse to demonize the human race for emitting gases. In fact, the New York Times had a long piece on its front page demonizing the billions of so-called "third world" folks who use wood stoves in cooking, because it produces soot, which the article says causes 18 percent of the global warming problem. Do you realize that a very goodly portion of the world uses wood stoves everyday, and they don't pay a penny for the fuel, they just gather it from the branches and trees. Because this is a renewable resource, it should be good, but now the elitists are gonna get these down and outs for trying to keep cooked food in their mouths by making them buy the big oil companies' propane. I'm just saying that Schumer's bill, expanded to include all natural emissions of biological entities on the planet, to protect all creatures from "existence" taxes, is what we need. I think it's a good idea to support S527.

I think the global warming is a hoax, it has "other agendas" written all over it. It is a trojan horse to put in tons of laws, just as the war on terror was. Let's stop it!
