After an extended hiatus, FaxForTruth is back! Our newest campaign will focus on FOX News and Glenn Beck. Beck’s unconscionable defamation of the 9/11 Truth Movement is inexcusable. He must be held to account for what he has done. We must all come together and with one voice show these hate-mongers that this will not stand, that we will defend ourselves collectively against these bullying tactics. We must demand Glenn Beck’s immediate resignation or termination to get this sort of irresponsible journalism off the airwaves. You can use the sample letter provided below or write your own. Shocked. Disgusted. Outraged. These are but a few words that could describe my feelings after watching Glenn Beck shamelessly try to label the Holocaust Museum shooter James von Brunn a “hero of the 9/11 truth community” even though there is no one in the 9/11 truth movement calling this man a hero. I am a long time watcher of FOX News and a long time 9/11 truther and I don’t appreciate watching your station and being associated with murderous bigots.

Glenn Beck has thrown the rules of responsible journalism out the window in order to tarnish the reputation of a movement he disagrees with. He ought to be fired for what he did. I am a long time watcher of FOX News and enjoy personalities such as Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly. I even watch Beck sometimes. I particularly enjoyed his coverage of the Tea Party protest in San Antonio. However I will no longer watch FOX News until Glenn Beck is fired from your network. Glenn Beck should have a real truther like Richard Gage on his program. Beck wouldn’t last two minutes against Gage.

This is not the first time Glenn Back has dragged the name of the 9/11 Truth Movement through the mud. On October 22, 2007, Beck suggested that those identifying themselves as associated with the 9/11 truth movement are “dangerous” “anarchists” who deny the Holocaust, and are “the kind of group that Timothy McVeigh would come from.” These kinds of baseless, hate-fueled accusations have no place on the public airwaves.

In short, until Glenn Beck is removed from your airwaves permanently I will no longer watch any of your programming. Good day.

While it may make some people feel better, IMO it'd be better to feel worse, but simultaneously do something that has a chance of getting Beck fired, or Fox 'news' taken down a notch. Does anybody seriously think that sending faxes like this to Fox 'news' will make for Beck to "be held to account"? I mean, besides KNOWAR? :-) These people have no shame - they are SLEAZE-BAGS. What is it about that fact that you don't get?

Should we also send faxes to the mafia telling them to stop killing people, or to banks to stop charging 30% interest on credit card debts?

The only group other than Fox viewers that it makes a lick of sense to go after, are the Fox advertisers.

...is a business metamars and like any other business if they receive a flood of faxes telling them their viewers won't watch until Glenn Beck is fired believe me it will teach them a lesson. We might not get him fired, but FOX News will have learned how many people are on our side.

However metamars if you type up a letter and get the fax numbers for FOX News advertisers I'd be more than happy to post it as our next campaign.

Or would be, even absent Beck. Hence, to create a credible flood of letters, you somehow have to reach the viewers.

Not an easy task, but one that might actually make a difference.

I don't have a TV, so I can't even just watch Beck to see who advertises on his show.

Also, fighting Fox is something that's been done before (see here ). I checked this out a little bit just now.

This video that I watched, which is how a basically left-leaning, Democratic Party - friendly coalition helped torpedo a Democratic Presidential primary debate that was being hosted by Fox, probably did nothing to erode Fox's core audience.

My guess is that nothing else these folks have done has eroded Fox's core listeners, either. Perhaps you'd like to study their various efforts, and report on this?

It's conceivable that the 911 Truth movement, if they can find someway to erode Fox's core audience, could become a partner with the anti-Fox groups, but working against that is

a) some (?all) of these groups have a strong pro-Democratic Party orientation. They are happy to go after Fox, but will they go after ABC for giving softball treatment to President Obama? 911 Truth should have nothing to do with party politics, though I suppose a strategic alliance, for specific actions, shouldn't be ruled out out, without consideration.

b) 911 Truth is a 'high strangeness' area, so non-strange political movements will likely keep their distance.

Nevertheless, "imitation is the highest form of flattery". If you find a way to cut Fox news down to size, you can be sure that the other anti-Fox groups will join in the fun, even if they don't give proper credit.

There is already a 911 Truth friendly, non-partisan (AFAIK) group with boots on the ground who might actually be up to the task of eroding Fox's core audience (and hopefully, the core audience of the MSM, in general). And that group is We Are Change.

IMO, the most Fox-damaging thing you could do is to get them interested in cutting Fox down to size.

At least in the abstract. I just don't see the logic of appealing to Fox, directly. I explained this more here at 911blogger.

At the very least, I can imagine people doing street activism to greet people with "Have you heard about the smear-job that Glen Beck of Fox applied to us?" , instead of "911 was an inside job" * , and having a better response with that.

Such an effort should be understood within the larger context of dumping MSM, as a whole, while educating it as to its function as a medium of government propaganda and framing.

* Which, I must confess, I never cared for. Shocking people and reaching people are two different things.

You are missing the point metamars...

...they don't know if you are a huge fan or not, but when you say you are, it makes them think twice about ignoring your complaint. We want them to think there are truthers everywhere, even in their own audience.

Or we could do nothing metamars and let the corporate media drag our name through the mud whenever they want. I think we should make as giant of an uproar over this as possible by asking for Beck's head. We might get him fired we might not but if we bombard them with faxes all week they may think twice before slandering us again.

Find segments of both Fox news and therealnews.com which deal with the same topic, and juxtapose them (with a brief write up). This is probably a huge amount of work. I think somebody out there is recording fox 'news' segments, and cataloging them, but I'm not sure.

In any event, a good start is with 911. You should be able to find the 911 segment of therealnews.com where Paul Jay is asking his interviewee about some of the unanswered questions of 911. They guy he's interviewing (I'm sorry, I don't remember his name) is kind of evasive, but at least Jay persisted, somewhat. In any event, while the interviewee was found wanting, and while therealnews.com has not, itself, done any original investigations into 911, itself (that I know of), the contrast between Paul Jay asking reasonable questions and the Glen Beck smear job is enough to at least get Fox viewers thinking about why there is a difference.

Frankly, the biggest problem is how to reach Fox viewers en masse, not what to tell them. In no way am I understimating this hard problem. But, by focussing on Fox's management, there is no hope of solving it, at all. Fox management is not going to instruct their talking heads to have their viewers watch 'Outfoxed', and get back to them if they agree that there is anything wrong with Fox. Not good for business. Unthinkable, really.

Well, I just got another idea. If the 911 Truth movement could get a hold of $10,000, they could have an essay contest for Fox viewers, only, where the essay question are twofold:
1) "Who is a better journalist: Glen Beck or Paul Jay? "
2) "Is Glen Beck guilty of slander?"

The essays have to be based on both the Glen Beck smear job, as well as therelanews segment I referred to, above. A cash prize is necessary, as otherwise, nobody will pay any attention. Also, there are probably laws regarding contests with prizes, like this, which have to be obeyed. All entries are liable to be posted, verbatim, on the internet.

If Fox 'news' viewers believe that they can defend one of their talking-head serial liars, then let them go ahead and make their stellar arguments. Frankly, the entertainment value of reading the more mushy-headed entries will make it worthwhile, even if Fox 'news' doesn't take a hit.

Considering the fact that FOX news is the propaganda pillar of the covert network responsible for the 2000 election fraud and everything that followed, including 9/11, FOX deserves no such treatment.
