Why do so many of Noam Chomsky's former advocates on the progressive left challenge his assertion that it does not matter if Muslims are not responsible for the events of September 11, 2001 or if the assassination of President John F Kennedy was a project of the Pentagon Joint chiefs?

Noted Canadian media critic, Barrie Zwicker (Towers of Deception) points out that the Chomsky stand down on 9/11 truth and the Kennedy assassination is mirrored by compromised media gatekeepers including the Daily Kos, the Huffington Post, MoveOn.org and the Democratic party.

But if there is a secret plan to infiltrate the media and misinform the public about the Pentagon Joint Chiefs role in these events wouldn't we know about it by now?
