JREF debunkers

In my opinion there are two main types of debunker. There are 'Shills' who are paid government propaganda assets tasked to talk down the 9/11 Movement for Truth and there are 'Saps' who are their hangers-on. These are often poor lost souls who suffer from moral cowardice and are only too willing to swallow whole the poor fare offered by the Shills. These are by far the biggest group of debunkers.

In the immortal words of Mike Rivero;-

"Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of a corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one's self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all

There is an important subcategory which is a spin-off of the'Sap' and that is the kind of moral coward that takes to debunking with gusto. This is a kind of 'Stockholm Syndrome' where the poor Sap starts to assocoiate and identify with with the Shill. They can become 'more of a Shill than the Shills themselves' This is a common type of debunker and a big favourite with the government.

....And unique to he jref in my opinion is that type of debunker hat I call ' the fake Truther '. This character is noted for his somewhat passionless Trutherism. To mangle a phrase somewhat he will tend to ' praise the government with faint damnation ' while still weakly proclaiming that ' 9/11 was an inside job '

There is only one type of 'paid shill'

The one for which you can provide hard proof that he/she is getting a paycheck from the government specifically for spreading propaganda.

We need to keep this in mind when we use this phrase. Doubt is not an argument.

About JREF

The James Randi Educational Foundation officially came into existence on February 29, 1996, when it was registered as a nonprofit corporation in the State of Delaware in the United States.[1] On April 3, 1996 James Randi formally announced the creation of the JREF through his email hotline:[2]

“ THE FOUNDATION IS IN BUSINESS! It is my great pleasure to announce the creation of the James Randi Educational Foundation. This is a non-profit, tax-exempt, educational foundation under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, incorporated in the State of Delaware. The Foundation is generously funded by a sponsor in Washington D.C. who wishes, at this point in time, to remain anonymous. ”

On August 4, 2008, it was announced by the Foundation that astronomer Philip Plait was named the new President of the JREF and Randi would become the Chairman of the JREF Board of Directors;[5] however, Plait's name does not appear in the 2009 Annual Report filed with Florida on March 20, 2009 and the position of President was not included in the document.

On December 22, 2008, it was announced that A B Kovacs is the new Director of Operations.[6]

The San Francisco newspaper SF Weekly reported on August 24, 2009 that Randi's annual salary is about $200,000, a figure that has not changed much since the Foundation's inception.[7]
