Richard Barlow On The Boiling Frogs

Source: 123realchange.blogpost.com

Richard Barlow discusses his experience as a counter-proliferation intelligence officer with the CIA in the 1980s, his work for the Office of the Secretary of Defense under Dick Cheney, and his incredible journey in trying to stop the proliferation efforts of the now infamous A.Q. Khan. He talks about the ‘real politics’ involving our relations with Pakistan and the Congress’ role, the draconian State Secrets Privilege, current disheartening status of whistleblower protection laws, and more!

Richard Barlow worked as a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) counter-proliferation intelligence officer in the 1980s. He learned that top U.S. officials were allowing Pakistan to manufacture and possess nuclear weapons, and that the A.Q. Khan nuclear network was violating U.S. laws. He also discovered that top officials were hiding these activities from Congress, since telling the truth would have legally obligated the U.S. government to cut off its overt military aid to Pakistan at a time when covert military aid was being funneled through Pakistan to Afghan Jihadists in the war against the Soviets. Barlow's response: to organize the first interagency efforts to go after the A.Q. Khan nuclear network, well before it spread nuclear weapons to Iran, North Korea and Libya. After engineering the arrests of Khan's nuclear agents operating in the U.S. in 1987, Mr. Barlow was sent by high levels of the CIA to testify before Congress, where he revealed that certain members of the Reagan administration had been misleading Congress. Barlow's efforts to enforce the law and tell the truth caused Congress to come within an inch of terminating aid to Pakistan. As a result, he was persecuted as a traitor by some cold warriors in the CIA and State Department, shutting down his operations and clouding his future in the Agency.

Fascinating...

Richard Barlow is someone that should have testified before the 9/11 Commission.

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? Do we deserve to know how and why 9/11 happened?

I'll be glad when this

I'll be glad when this picture slips out of view.

Did you listen to the interview?

Eye opener

I can't believe the hell they put this guy through. Reminds me of the Anthony Schaeffer story. After listening to (all) these stories, I wonder why anyone would risk blowing the whistle. If for no other reason, we owe it to them to tell their stories over and over, especially since the MSM is obstructing daylight. Sibel deserves huge credit for Boiling Frogs. In a very short period of time the radio program has become a very important collection of interviews. I look forward too each and every one.

Yea...

It was brutal what they did to him.

I've been a huge advocate for whistleblower protections for years. These people risk everything to bring truth to light, and deserve our respect, and support.

9/11 has some history...indeed!

This is a fascinating interview with what I perceive as a subtle message for Sibel Edmonds.

First, this fellow, Barlow, seems to be still "hooked in" somehow. I've heard, and it makes sense...once on the inside-always on the inside. [The Daily Kos?]

Second, he was letting Sibel know what hell she is about to go through...a thinly veiled warning in my view...

Third, this seems to add several previous administrations to the build-up of the eventual attacks on 9/11...and the "constant" involved is the Penatgon and our Intelligence apparatus, for whom I believe, the presidents and congress of the USofA actually work for...

Barlow's statement that the congress of the last 10 years is the WORST in US history [I couldn't agree more] is a very, very important point. This TRUTH means two things to me:

1. This is why the congress and everyone else in the US Governmenet resisted any and all investigations into 9/11...why both investigations were cover-ups...and why they suggested Henry Kissenger to head it up in the first place. Those in congress are acutely aware that any investigation of 9/11 is an investigation of themselves...and they will be found very, very guilty as Edmonds', Barlow's and many other's testimony so indicates.

2. This is also why, when I'm doing CI...Civil Informationing about "9/11 TRUTH for World PEACE", the THIRD "action element" of my actions besides 9/11 Truth and Peace, is voting reforms.

...9/11 TRUTH...
...World Peace...
...voting reforms...

Point #2 here is more important than most Truthers may value. Ordinary citizens who "become enlightened", or indeed block such enlightenment about the TRUTHS behind 9/11, often sense despair and powerlessness because they have nothing to do with...nor any place to go with...nor any way to do something about this terrible and devastating information about THEIR government's malfeasances...

...which go WAY beyond the attacks on 9/11/2001...

So, in my view, all we can really do is to ask average citizens to become better voters...meaning...

...vote more often...
...vote more informed...
...and support election reforms...

This congress, and in my view, this White House, need to be changed out of office and replaced with citizen politicians. Without this long term process, its likely there will be very few "changes"...because they will NOT come about with citizen violence.

One of the major mistakes made by the peace movements of the 60s is that they neglected to gel into, or remain a political force in the USofA after their first "alleged" political successes in the streets against the Vietnam War. [See "Sir, No Sir!" for another reason the Vietnam War actually ended...]

If the 9/11TM fails to transfer our knowledge about 9/11 TRUTH into some for of political "change"...whatever that might be, then we are repeating the very same mistake made by the 60s peace movements...which were certainly "helped" into taking a four decade nap after the 60s.

Very interesting interview...indeed!

...love, peace and progress...

...time for the 9/11TM to step up to the world stage of peace actions...and to support election reforms...
