Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) is the second most powerful member of the GOP in the House of Representatives. In the following 4-minute video from November 9, 2009, Mr. Cantor incites the 2009 General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America in Washington to the contrived view that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is "the man holding the gun with which he vows to kill Israel and the Jews." Cantor alleges that each day brings the world one step closer to Ahmadinejad's possession of a nuclear bomb.

Among hundreds of journalists, I’ve documented that Mr. Ahmadinejad has never threatened Israel. Please take the 5-minutes to read the speech and verify that people like Mr. Cantor are psychopaths urging you to join them in mass murder. I'm not name-calling; I'm trying to accurately use language for maximum communication of what's happening at the "leadership" level of both parties in the American duopoly. The definition of "psychopathy" is a veneer of socially acceptable behavior attempting to distract from viciously destructive actions. Regarding Iran’s claim for nuclear energy, their efforts are entirely within the law. The US and Israel are in violation. Here is my archive on Iran-related articles.

Mr. Cantor asks: "Have we not been down this road before?" Yes, we have. This is the road all psychopaths have lied and cajoled their way down to murder other human beings, including most recently by this country against Iraq and Afghanistan.

Agreement / definitions

I would personally use the term 'sociopath' here, but there appears to be much disagreement, and the medical definitions almost seem deliberately ambiguous. Everyone seems to agree that both have no conscience, i.e. feel no empathy, and thus are totally unencumbered by guilt.

To me, 'sociopath' implies those unconcerned about the rest of SOCIety, but who are able to pretend that they aren't insane. Whereas a 'psychopath' would be an axe murderer etc., unhinged.
The word 'psychopath' has more historical baggage, and is associated with murderers and the like.
It seems there are those who consider themselves 'sociopaths' and yet have a low opinion of 'psychopaths'.

If people think 'psychopath' means 'completely bonkers' then there is a danger in applying this term to the calculated demeanour of a politician.

I believe those 'unempaths' who are able to control their actions and act 'normal' (sociopaths) have been gaining control of society for a long time. Eric Cantor is a sociopath.

Thanks for your careful thinking on this influence device.

a generic wikipedia distinction between the two:
Hare writes that the difference between sociopathy and psychopathy may "reflect the user's views on the origins and determinates of the disorder."[43]

David T. Lykken proposes psychopathy and sociopathy are two distinct kinds of antisocial personality disorder. He believes psychopaths are born with temperamental differences such as impulsivity, cortical underarousal, and fearlessness that lead them to risk-seeking behavior and an inability to internalize social norms. On the other hand, he claims sociopaths have relatively normal temperaments; their personality disorder being more an effect of negative sociological factors like parental neglect, delinquent peers, poverty, and extremely low or extremely high intelligence. Both personality disorders are the result of an interaction between genetic predispositions and environmental factors, but psychopathy leans towards the hereditary whereas sociopathy tends towards the environmental.[38]
