Ruppert’s “Collapse”; Asleep, Deceived or Just Plain Deception?

By Michael Murphy

Michael Ruppert is admired by many for his pioneering work on issues such as the 911 truth movement, his exposure of the CIA’s connection to major drug smuggling operations into the U.S. and his research into the Pat Tillman murder case. It is apparent to many that he has committed his life to exposing the truth about important issues that affect many around the world today. I recently had the opportunity to attend the premier of Ruppert’s new documentary “Collapse”, which Ruppert not only attended but also granted a question and answer session after the showing.

The documentary “Collapse” predicts the social, economic and political collapse of the world system as we know it. Ruppert describes this crisis as being characterized by the breakdown of governmental services, food shortages, death, lawlessness, resurgence of gold as the prime currency and state successions in the United States. Ruppert blames peak oil as being the main catalyst to his upcoming predictions. Peak oil is defined as the point in time when the maximum rate of global petroleum extraction is reached, after which the rate of production enters terminal decline. He states that the world can-not sustain itself with our current population and energy requirements. His chilling predictions are followed by suggestions to invest in seeds, learn subsistence farming, being involved in a local community, all in preparation for the inevitable collapse.

Ruppert is consistent with many in his prediction of a great collapse in the system; however, he blames the crisis and other future problems on peak oil. He also predicts that those who survive the crisis will enjoy a future society that is non-corporate and self sustaining. Obviously this is contradictory to the beliefs of anyone who is aware of the New World Order agenda

After the movie, Ruppert had a ½ hour period where he answered questions about the film and his work. When I asked him about his thoughts on the New World Order agenda and the elites role in creating the problems he discussed in the film, he arrogantly responded by saying ,“the new world order is a red herring (a diversion), globalization is dead, FEMA camps do not exist and people who think like this need to use their heads.” Ruppert addressed another question from the audience about the 911 truth movement he helped pioneer by stating that “people should not waste their time on the 911 truth movement because no government entity will ever truly address the issue”. While Ruppert might believe that 911 truth will never be addressed by any government official, the movement has a profound effect on truth and transparency, our freedoms and future events. Rupper’s attempt to discourage the audience from pursuing 911 truth is not only a slap in the face of the victim’s families, but also a slap in the face of freedom.

Ruppert has exposed many important truths in the past; however, this documentary is counterproductive in exposing real political truth and producing the change that we need to regain our freedom because it denies the basic principles of the new world order agenda. This leads me to the conclusion that Ruppert is either asleep, deceived or just plain using deception.

At the top of his game

Great film, can't wait for the new book, "Confronting Collapse".

Sacred Demise

Maybe. Unfortunately, his game appears to be elitist, mystical malthusianism.

From a recent amazon review he wrote..

"This isn't a mass-consumption book nor should it be. My life and experience have taught me that few humans have evolved or are aware enough to even grasp its significance."

"The book's greatest use will be in guiding and comforting those of us who are "hospice" workers for industrial civilization."

".. fearlessly acknowledging that civilization and the species may become extinct soon.."

Mike Ruppert in January 2009:

http://mikeruppert.blogspot.com/2009/01/russia-ukraine-gas-talks-collaps...

"It's clear that between 2 and 5 billion will die off. What I protest is that the free markets are making the decision as to which 2-5 billion that will be; Henry Kissinger's "useless eaters". What is happening is that the collapse of the economy is turning people who were productive workers yesterday into useless eaters tomorrow. Who's next?

I have always felt the the decision should be made some other way, based upon some other criteria."

.

So, Mike Ruppert thinks a "decision should be made", "based upon some other criteria", "as to which 2-5 billion" should die. I would love to know what the "criteria" he has in mind would be, and how exactly he thinks this "decision" should then be executed. I mean, he must have a plan in mind how to make sure that the right 2-5 billion people die. Somebody should ask him, for all of humanity's sake.

If you had read the book

You might have seen this passage:

"At question here is not just the planet's ability to sustain new growth - which is obviously a thing of the past - but its ability to support those who are already here. We must power down.

There were only about two billion of us here before oil. There are almost seven billion of us today. Failing to address this single, overriding issue, may result in the extinction of the entire species because, if we do not address this as a whole, IT WILL BE ADDRESSED FOR US by chaos, war, collapse, famine, disease, societal breakdown and very possibly nuclear war. This challenge may be addressed by those with vast money and resources in secret. It may be addressed by genocide, biological warfare or some other means. These debates and decisions belong to all of us. I do not have a plan but I am certain that there are people who do. It is time for the world to hear the thinking of the Peak Oil/Sustainability movement. I believe it may finally be ready to listen."

Please, don't make me read it

Tell you what, why don't you and MCR discuss genocide, biological warfare, peak this and that, famine etc.

I don't believe this malthusian bullshit, whether it's from the NWO, an undead comic, or a post breakdown ex cop.

Good luck with your foundation sponsored doom mongering.

I'm going to go for a walk.

It seems that...

Ruppert may have been right about Peak Oil.

However, as I told him recently, I do not agree on his stance regarding 9/11.

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? The facts speak for themselves.

Ruppert

..in my opinion is far from a fool. The 9/11 movement has been a wake up call for everyone with an IQ over 30.
I have always thought speculation, and asking what if should not be classified as disinformation.
After all ......Belief is the death of intelligence.
Look at the state of affairs right now. How long do you think our phony system can continue?
I have to agree with Ruppert on this.........Something has to give.
Back to the subject of 9/11 It's been over eight years, and with all that has been uncovered, and still suppressed should clue people in to how corrupt our system has become.
Agree with or disagree with Ruppert.......... He's dead on about one thing.

PREPARE!

I am guessing

that communalism will be high on the list of survival strategies when the current order dissembles. One of the great catalysts of the collapse will, I believe, be a rampant inflation that will immobilize the population by depriving it of the wherewithall to purchase food. The high debt load will also syphon off resources and contribute to the same problem. I'm guessing six months to a year down the road, as already people are headed toward the exits in dumping dollars for anything tangible, such as gold and commodities.
