I created a Craigslist account and they wanted phone number verification to post in Politics. Is that the same where you are?

Bruno, The phone number is now used to help avoid scams...they just send you a verification code (text or voice). Prior to some criminal incidents which gained mainstream media attention, this wasn't a policy for Craigslist.

Craigslist does work. We have gained members from it. My cumulative posts probably number over 500 during the course of several years. Your posts often come up in Google searches. This is a great way to keyword locally, and also for events.
Typically, I avoid "politics", but post in the COMMUNITY portion often utilizing "volunteers", "general", "local news", "groups", "events", etc.
Be sure to post in different towns. (I have had scores of people email me wanting to know where a nearby local group might be.)
Establish an email address which has '911' in it (and maybe your city) so you can respond reassuringly to valid queries, and also delete the inevitable opportunities to claim your 2 million dollar inheritance from Nigeria.
Occasionally, online jerks will "flag" some of your posts. The posts will be removed automatically by Craigslist. Don't fight it -- just wait and repost at another time.
Use Word to type your script so you don't lose it, and so you can form different renditions. *~ Craigslist will not let you duplicate the same exact wording on other posts. So, you will want to create different renditions or rearrange sentences. Have at least 4 pictures at hand on your computer to upload to your ad.
Your posts will eventually expire, but you can pull them back up from your account and repost them.
For "groups" and "activities" and "volunteers", a good statement includes: "Need people to help give out FREE DVD FILMS...."
