Fascist US policy in Afghanistan: 50-to-1 ratio of money to kill versus money to help Afghans

The United Nations reports Afghanistan as the world’s most dangerous place for a child to be born. One out of four children die before their fifth birthday; 70% of the population do not have access to clean water.

Orwellian Peace Prize winner Obama’s response: spend at a 50-to-1 ratio to attack Afghans compared with money to help them.

On our planet, one million children in impoverished areas like Afghanistan die from preventable poverty every month. The economic investment to save their lives is 0.7% of the developed nations’ gross national income (GNI). In every historical case, ending poverty decreases population growth rate and eases environmental damage from economically desperate people. Although the US has continuously promised 0.7% of GNI to save children’s lives, our actual investment amount is less than one-fourth that amount.

When polled, the American public are willing to spend 10% of our government budget to help the poorest of the poor. That amount would more than fully fund all the programs of the UN Millennium Goals for food, clean water, shelter, primary education, and basic health care for all the world’s children. The long-term costs of current US wars is now $3-5 TRILLION, according to Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz and Harvard’s Linda Bilmes. That amount of money would have funded the Millennium Goals until they were self-sufficient, with enough money left over to do so again, and then one more time.

To accentuate the fascist quality of our US government rather than the inalienable rights of our empty rhetoric and the will of the American people to help people rather than attack them unlawfully, since the beginning of Bush Sr.’s presidency more human beings have died from preventable poverty than from all wars and government-caused atrocities in recorded human history (~20 million/year from poverty for 20 years = 400 million; 20th century war/government ~180 million, all previous history is safely less than that total).

A necessary component of fascist governments is a controlled corporate media. The information in this article is more evidence that our corporate media are prostitutes to a lying and un-American political agenda. I use the term “un-American” in an academic sense, not as an insult. When wars are illegal under US law, they are un-American.

The US is not bringing freedom. The US brings death, destruction, and misery. We do so through clearly unlawful wars with Afghanistan, Iraq, and have bloodlust for more war with Iran through paper-thin propaganda. Because the wars are objectively unlawful upon less than an hour’s consideration of what US war laws mean and the actual evidence, all men and women in US military, government and law enforcement should enact their oath to defend the US Constitution and refuse all orders in advancement of any war. Those with legal authority should arrest those issuing unlawful orders.

This US government is abhorrent from what conservatives and progressives really want.
