In a "new" Bin Laden audio message... Bin Laden claims Christmas bombing attempt

CAIRO -- Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden claimed responsibility for the Christmas Day airline bombing attempt in Detroit, in a audio message released Sunday, and vowed further attacks on the U.S.

The message suggests that bin Laden wants to show he remains in direct command of al-Qaida's many branches around the world.

In the short recording carried by the Al-Jazeera Arabic news channel, bin Laden addressed President Barack Obama saying the attack was a message similar to that of Sept. 11 and more attacks against the U.S. would be forthcoming.

"The message delivered to you through the plane of the heroic warrior Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was a confirmation of the previous messages sent by the heroes of the Sept. 11," he said.

"America will never dream of security unless we will have it in reality in Palestine," he added. "God willing, our raids on you will continue as long as your support for the Israelis continues."

On Christmas Day, Nigerian national Abdulmutallab attempted to blow up the Northwest Airlines flight he was sitting on as it approached Detroit Metro Airport. But the bomb he was hiding in his underwear failed to explode.

He told federal agents shortly afterward that he had been trained and instructed in the plot by al-Qaida operatives in Yemen.

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula originally took credit for the attack, but by issuing this message, bin Laden seems to be indicating that he himself is ordering attacks, rather than just putting his seal of approval on events afterward.

Analysts had previously suggested that al-Qaida's offshoots in North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and elsewhere were operated independently from bin Laden, who is believed to be somewhere in Afghanistan-Pakistan border region.

There was no way to confirm the voice was actually that of Bin Laden, but it resembled previous recordings attributed to him.

In the past year, bin Laden's messages have concentrated heavily on the plight of the Palestinians in attempt to rally support across the region.

Many analysts believe that bin Laden is worried about Obama's popularity across the Middle East with his promises to withdraw from Iraq and personal background, so the al-Qaida leader is focusing on the close U.S.-Israeli relationship.

The suffering of the Palestinians, especially in the blockaded Gaza Strip where 1,400 died during an Israeli offensive there last year, angered many in the Arab world.

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman, Andy David, dismissed the latest al-Qaida message and its attempt to link Israel with attacks on the U.S.

"This is nothing new, he has said this before. Terrorists always look for absurd excuses for their despicable deeds," he said.

The last public message from bin Laden appears to have been on Sept. 26, when he demanded that European countries pull their troops out of Afghanistan. The order came in an audiotape that also warned of "retaliation" against nations that are allied with the United States in fighting the war.

Be afraid, be very afraid!

The most critical passage : 'There was no way to confirm the voice was actually that of Bin Laden, but it resembled previous recordings attributed to him.'

Well, I'm glad we got that settled!

How did it resemble those other recordings? And was there a sound basis for having attributed them to him?

But there's no ambiguity in the headline to the online news article: 'Bin Laden claims Christmas bombing attempt.' I suppose that could be considered true if by 'bin Laden,' we no longer think in terms of an actual person, but rather of a series of recordings 'attributed' to that person, which have come to acquire a kind of life all their own. Who needs an actual, living breathing bogeyman when recorded messages allegedly made and released by the supposed bogeyman seem to work just as well?

no way to confirm?

"There was no way to confirm the voice was actually that of Bin Laden." I had thought a voice was like a finger print. Too much TV I guess. I had also thought that Al-Jazeera was independent of US control but it appears they are putting out what they are instructed to.

Perhaps we should say

Perhaps we should say "Virtual Bin Laden claimed responsibility for the underwear attacks."

VBL once again expressed solidarity with suffering Palestinians, thereby implying that all who express solidarity with suffering Palestinians are terrorists.

Gosh, I wonder whose signature is all over VBL?

AP Exclusive: Feds detail Christmas Day attack

By DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writer Devlin Barrett, Associated Press Writer – 1 hr 28 mins ago

WASHINGTON – For hours after allegedly trying to use a bomb hidden in his underwear to blow up a Christmas Day flight to Detroit, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab talked and talked — to Customs officers, medical personnel, and FBI agents.

He spoke openly about what he'd done and why, and provided valuable intelligence, U.S. officials told The Associated Press in a series of interviews that spell out for the first time the details of Abdulmutallab's arrest and questioning on Dec. 25.

Badly burned and bleeding, the suspect tried one last gambit as he was taken from the plane: He claimed there was another bomb hidden on board, officials said.

There was no second bomb, federal agents learned after a tense search. But the Nigerian suspect's threat set off a series of conversations that are now the subject of a fierce political debate over the right way to handle terrorism suspects.

The bomb had severely burned Abdulmutallab but he was still conscious. As he was taken from the scene, federal agents repeatedly interviewed him or heard him speak to others. But when they read him his legal rights nearly 10 hours after the incident, he went silent.

Since the attempted bombing, several prominent lawmakers have argued he should have been placed immediately in military custody, and the nation's top intelligence official said he should have been questioned by a special group of terror investigators, rather than the FBI agents who responded to the scene.

The officials who spoke to The AP said on-scene investigators never discussed turning the suspect over to military authorities. And their accounts show that as the hours passed, the FBI turned to its own local expert counterterror interrogators, rather than seek bureau personnel to fly in from Washington or elsewhere.

The officials provided an account of the law enforcement response to the holiday bombing on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to disclose details of the investigation.

Here is what officials say happened:

Shortly after noon on Christmas, federal agents were notified that Northwest Airlines flight 253 had arrived at the Detroit airport from Amsterdam, with a passenger who had lit an explosive device on the aircraft.

After being restrained and stripped bare by fellow passengers and crew, Abdulmutallab was handed over to Customs and Border Protection officers and local police.

The officers and an ambulance crew took him to the burn unit at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

Along the way, Abdulmutallab repeatedly made incriminating statements to the CBP officers guarding him. He told them he had acted alone on the plane and had been trying to take down the aircraft.

Abdulmutallab arrived at the hospital just before 2 p.m. Still under guard, Abdulmutallab told a doctor treating him that he had tried to trigger the explosive. The Nigerian said it didn't cause a blast, but instead began popping and ignited a fire on his groin and legs.

FBI agents from the Detroit bureau arrived at the hospital around 2:15 p.m., and were briefed by the Customs agents and officers as Abdulmutallab received medical treatment.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., FBI agents began interviewing the suspect in his hospital room, joined by a CBP officer and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.

Good post. The gov. is trying to elevate their competence.

From the article: "...He (bomber) claimed there was another bomb hidden on board, officials said. There was no second bomb, federal agents learned after a tense search...."
Ha!...what a crock! The passengers were sitting on the plane for about 20 minutes...and then exited WITH THEIR CARRY-ON LUGGAGE hanging out in a room all together for more than an hour with the luggage, until a bomb sniffing dog spotted someone and the briefcase. And the government lied!! ...changing versions of this bomb sniffing dog incident more than 5 TIMES in 10 days, going from complete denial to a series of fantasy-wonderland stories. The accomplice (which was verified by another) is now no longer mentioned in the press. The FILMING of the entire incident (prior and during) is not mentioned in the press.
Where is real journalism?

Better Late Than Never

Geeez, VBL!! What took you so long?? Christmas was like eons ago!!

No, seriously, did they have trouble tracking down the voice-over talent used in the previous recordings? It was the holidays, so the guy was probably on vacation, no cell phone coverage. Yeah, that must be it.

Did you notice this time we don't even get a "specialists are working to evaluate the voice." comment. Oh, no. Cut right to the chase. "There was no way to confirm...." Smart move. Nip it in the bud. They know we'd expect nothing less of the FBI (Frequently Botched Investigations) (They're getting tired).

Did you notice that the article uses the old, tried and true photo of OBL although they just recently showed us the artist's rendering him of him aged and...oops, forgot, they copied that Spanish politician's head by "mistake". Twice. Yeah, can't use that pic now. (They're getting lazy.)

This is a disgrace. They really *do* think we're that dumb. (They're getting desperate.)

Although this is no laughing matter, try this. Substitue "secret government agent" for every use of VBL's name.

Problem is, it works on the masses.

I'm not smart enough to know how.

Terror level in UK raised to 'severe'

The threat to the UK from international terrorism was tonight raised from substantial to severe - meaning an attack is "highly likely".

Home secretary Alan Johnson said although the threat had increased, there was no intelligence to suggest an attack was imminent.

He said: "The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre has today raised the threat to the UK from international terrorism from substantial to severe.

"This means that a terrorist attack is highly likely, but I should stress that there is no intelligence to suggest than an attack is imminent.

"JTAC keeps the threat level under constant review and makes its judgments based on a broad range of factors, including the intent and capabilities of international terrorist groups in the UK and overseas."

What the terror threat levels mean:
• Low - an attack is unlikely
• Moderate - an attack is possible, but not likely
• Substantial - an attack is a strong possibility
• Severe - an attack is highly likely
• Critical - an attack is expected imminently

"There was no way to confirm the voice on the audio message was actually that of bin Laden," but we'll put it out anyway in an effort to make you think that Emmanuel Goldstein is alive and well, and scary as ever.

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? The facts speak for themselves.

My God

I just read it here I still can't believe it. Talk about BS. You would think they would come up with something more original. A new "Boogie Man" or something. There is not a person I know who still believes the original story. It's almost laughable. Well it just shows how desperate the NWO boys have become.

Perhaps they don't care...

... what people think. Is it enough that the MSM just regurgitates the "news"?

your right Vesa. They are awful cocky but they better start to worry, their days are numbered. We have made a lot of progress over the last few years and people are fed-up with the whole situation. Not just 911 but everything in general. People are loosing their jobs, homes etc. What was once a "Conspiracy Theory" is not such a joke anymore. People are waking-up by the millions. Not just here in the States but world wide!

The Al Qaeda "Syndicate"

The effort to expand the AQ myth is becoming quite aggressive. This piece in the WP says: "the Pentagon chief said al-Qaeda had formed a "syndicate" of terrorist groups with Taliban factions in Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as Lashkar-i-Taiba, a Kashmir separatist network blamed for the 2008 Mumbai hotel attacks that killed 165 people."

So, AQ is now affiliated with just about everyone everywhere. Right.

He's the Energizer Terrorist

He keeps going & going &going.

The Telepathic Terrorist...

giving the green light from the grave.

Interesting? More than one side of the bin laden coin?

Why would the US-ALCIADA involve a discussion of Palestine? Why would Al -Jazeera jump on an unsubstantiated report like this? Perhaps more than one party is trying to play the bin laden card.

Prima Facie

This is so funny. Now, we know the FBI is protecting the Indian-looking man that eyewitnesses Kurt and Lori Haskell saw accompany Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to the ticket gate, which proves that the Christmas bombing operation was an American operation (possibly with assistance by others), and that the Osama bin Laden audio tape is therefore a fraud. Kurt and Lori Haskell have also proved that the official account of 9/11 is a fraud, thanks to their blowing the lid off the Christmas Day false-flag attack.

Kurt and Lori Haskell's testimony is prima facie proof that the government uses false flag attacks to sway public opinion, and therefore proof that the 9/11 false flag attacks were frauds. --

Again, Kurt and Lori Haskell's testimony should be broadly disseminated by 9/11 activists. Their account is devastating.
