"Office Fires Melt Metal"...The Myth Continues

February 18, Thursday morning, a small plane hit an Austin seven story office building.
The myth continues about how office fires can melt metal.

“...We have seen how floors can collapse after metal starts melting at fire intensity so high. This is a 7 story building… …And frankly, most occupants of buildings these days know when they tell you to evacuate, there has been a plane crash, you don’t stop. You just get out as quickly as possible….”
Taken from KVUE's “First Video: Plane crashes into building” which is now 3:17 minutes. http://www.kvue.com/news/local/First-video-Plane-crashes-into-building-84710897.html

The original first filmed footage, “First Video: Plane crashes into building”, was more than 6 minutes. It is now edited down to about 3 minutes. The original footage had interviews of witnesses by a young lady reporter, but that original 6+ minute footage has now been culled. The witnesses were in the building next door doing some stock trading classes. Their building also houses the FBI. They remarked how the Fire Truck was already at the scene of the crash before the FBI (next door) made it over to the crash.

The young lady reporter can be seen briefly at the very beginning of this video.

Also, in this video, witness Rene Sadlier remarks: ”…and then another explosion went off….”

Tie Duong (from the stock trading class) was one of the first witnesses who was interviewed by the young lady reporter in the original 6+ minute long “First Video: Plane crashes into building” . He (or his friend) had made the comment about how the Fire Truck was at the accident scene next door before the FBI in his building made it over. Tie Duong is briefly at the halfway mark in this edited footage, KVUE news report. Also, in this video is witness Gerry Cullen who describes the sequence of how things started blowing out of the building. ”…at first the windows blew out, then the insulation blew out, then those adjustable blinds – they flew out, then the fire started….”

Wow, the corporate media machine not even careful!

Remember Bill O'Reilly and James Meigs trying to debunk the movement in 2006?

Remember how they tried to spin the "fire melts steel" claim as one that the "truthers" claimed was a tenet of the official story? Then they proceeded to knock down the straw man by saying, "But the steel didn't need to melt, just weaken."

And it was David Griffin in "Debunking 9/11 Debunking" who reminded us that the "fire melts steel" claim was first used by the corporate media itself?

I guess the media reporting the Austin story didn't get the memo.

excerpts from news articles

The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane, a Piper Cherokee PA28, departed from Georgetown airport, about 20 miles north of Austin at about 9:40 a.m. The crash occurred about 30 minutes later and ignited a two-alarm fire. TxDOT cameras in the area showed fire and smoke coming from the building.

Fire officials on the scene of the crash were worried the building would collapse as metal beams were reportedly breaking. Crews on the scene reported still seeing debris fly off the building an hour after the crash, and the fire was still burning on the inside of the building. The debris is believed to be from firefighters breaking glass windows to vent the building.

News 8 crews in the field said debris from the crash hit a Lexus, shattering the car’s windshield. There is no word on injuries to the vehicle occupants.

------------------
Water streamed from the Echelon building's upper floors through broken and blackened glass panels. Austin Fire Department battalion chief Palmer Buck said crews took four minutes to respond to the call shortly before 10 a.m.

They started aggressive rescue efforts and focused on evacuations for the first 30 minutes, concerned about a partial collapse of the building.

Power was out in the area for much of the day while firefighters fought the flames. Crews at one point were pulled back out from the building of fear the building could collapse, but Austin Fire Chief Rhoda Mae Kerr Thursday afternoon said the building was stable. http://www.kvue.com/news/Plane-crashes-into-Northwest-Austin-building-84...

So several stories of structure were above the crash zone but no collapse into DUST. Not even a partial collapse, from the looks of it.

debunkers debunked!

All the debunkers always use the claim that although there has never been steel framed high rise building complete collapses from office fires before or after 9/11 in the history of these types of events, there has never been a precedent for a steel framed high rise complete collapses from plane crash + office fires. Well now there has, and I didn't see this building come down after the fire. Also you can see the psychological effects of the 9/11 collapses on this most recent event because many of these people thought this building could come down because of what happened on 9/11.

There have been others

The Pirelli Tower didn't collapse, although a plane hit it. Same with the Empire State Building. There are others.
