9/11 skeptics launch Canadian speaking tour
Last Updated: Friday, April 30, 2010 | 4:08 PM ET
The Canadian Press Three Canadian universities will be used as venues for a speaking tour by prominent 9/11 skeptics.

Americans Richard Gage and David Ray Griffin dispute the conventional wisdom that foreign terrorists linked to al-Qaida brought down the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001.

They will give lectures at the University of Toronto, Carleton University and the University of Quebec in Montreal over the coming days.

Faculty members at the Montreal university told a city newspaper they are upset the institution is being used for the event.

One says it harms the school's credibility.

This tour comes right on the heels of a free-speech controversy that erupted when US pundit Ann Coulter had an appearance cancelled at the University of Ottawa.

-This snippet is what I found when I searched for "9-11 truth" on CBC's website and sorted by date. Two sentences made me think about one of the key obstacles in 9-11 truth.

"Faculty members at the Montreal university told a city newspaper they are upset the institution is being used for the event. One says it harms the school's credibility."

If we can follow up afterward and see what changes have been made as far as attitudes regarding 9-11 truth and maybe gain an understanding of what key points really swayed them immediately so we can get scientific in our approach and make it unmerciful in potency. The more people we can wake up the better, obviously, but if we can become incredibly efficient at doing it, things will change very quickly.

Please offer any and all ideas, we have an amazing collection of minds here, let's keep putting them to tremendous use.

Thanks!

Dave

It's amazing, isn't it.

And for people, at this stage, to have such an ignorant an understanding of 9/11 as to think that hosting RG and DRG is a harm to credibility, is a major testament to the utter failure of our media. It is truly an Orwellian time we live in. I forwarded a 9/11 truth petition to a bunch of colleagues several months back. One person responded and CC'd the whole group, with the following short and sweet message:

Although he didn't explain himself, I think we can figure out what he meant: that he thinks that we who believe in controlled demolition are subscribing to a pseudoscientific idea.

How Orwellian!!!

Controlled demolition is a very REAL science, which has been employed and even videoed hundreds of times over the past century or so. By contrast, the official 9/11 WTC reports are pure pseudoscience from beginning to end. Yet, in this guy's version of reality, it's the exact opposite.

I defriended him on facebook, btw.

Logic takes a holiday

All we need to know we were taught by Shayam Sunder:

"We didn't look for evidence of explosions because there was no evidence of explosions."

My head hurts.

Source?

While I've seen Sunder say a lot of stupid stuff, I've never seen him say anything quite that stupid, but would love to be able to reference such a quote.

Not Sunder, Neuman

Michael Neuman is the unfortunate bureaucrat whose name and number grace the contact information of that NIST report. We called and (somewhat apologetically) explained we were doing a story on 9/11 conspiracies.

"We don't want to get into a debate," Neuman said. "Certainly people are entitled to their opinion … [but] we're staying away from debates with these groups." We assured him we didn't belong to "these groups," though we admitted some of the groups' members made points we could not refute. We hoped Neuman could. The first thing we mentioned was Jones's claims of finding explosive residue in the debris.

"We examined over 200 pieces of steel and found no evidence of explosives," Neuman said. We know, we said (even more apologetically), but what about that letter where NIST said it didn't look for evidence of explosives?
"Right, because there was no evidence of that."

But how can you know there's no evidence if you don't look for it first?
"If you're looking for something that isn't there, you're wasting your time … and the taxpayers' money."

Neuman really didn't want to talk to us. Depending on your preference, you could interpret that as further proof of a government cover-up, or as a legitimate time-management technique from a bureaucrat who can't be expected to persuade every single doubter who finds his phone number on the NIST report.

yes utterly amazing.

Sometimes I start to believe that I am living out a bizarre fairy tale in which the inhabitants of my country have all fallen under the dark spell of an evil wizard. They sincerely believe that giant steel girders can magically disintegrate and melt for no logical reason leaving untouched undamaged passports in the smoking ruin and that "collapsing" structures can cause live whole human beings to explode into tiny fragments in a matter of seconds and shower adjacent rooftops with bone shards hundreds of feet away! The word "explosives" seems to have been deleted from their consciousness.
If only the hero would come and disenchant them!
They believe a series of complete falsehoods cause the wizard hypnotized them through the use of his magic talking box that sends codes in through their eyeballs and paralyzes all logic!
This fairy tale is more believable to me than the OCT and the bogeyman in the cave with his box cutting teenaged veteran jumbo jet pilots and ninja lapdancing jihadists!
God help us.

The media has not failed...

...it is brilliantly and obediently protecting the ruling class.

THIS is why we must continue to be our own media and our own educators...until there is so much information and truth about 9/11 out there that the people begin questioning the role of the media...in everything.

And this day is coming.

I'm tired of re-explaining how the media has failed when it has not. This is NOT new news and comiserating or complaining about the media, corporate and "indie"?... is a waste of time!
