Govt Website Highlights Conspiracy Theories As Myth

A new section of the US State Department’s America.gov web site focuses on conspiracy theories as myth.

“Conspiracy theories exist in the realm of myth, where imaginations run wild, fears trump facts, and evidence is ignored. As a superpower, the United States is often cast as a villain in these dramas.”

Faulty Logic

US State Department says:

"As a superpower, the United States is often cast as a villain in these dramas.”'

Response:

"As a superpower, the United States must be a villain in some dramas, otherwise the concept of superpower is synonymous with benevolence.”

Are we to accept as true that something in the DNA of the United States prevents her from behaving badly abroad when even Great Britain admits there were times during her days of empire when she behaved badly abroad? I think not.

Conspiracy theories exist for many dramas involving the United States Government because the official explanations are only fit for the consumption of naive children.

GOV on 9/11:

"Dramatic, polarizing events often give rise to conspiracy theories, and the September 11 attacks were the most dramatic terrorist attacks in history. Nonsense about them abounds, especially in the popular video “Loose Change.”

See “The Top September 11 Conspiracy Theories” for an overview. There was no “controlled demolition” of the World Trade Center towers. Instead, the unprecedented attack by hijacked airliners full of jet fuel destroyed support pillars, loosened fireproofing insulation, and ignited fires that destroyed the twin towers. The collapse of the north tower heavily damaged World Trade Center 7, igniting fires and causing its collapse.

A hijacked plane, not a cruise missile, hit the Pentagon, as detailed in a photo gallery. Four thousand Jews did not miss work at the World Trade Center on September 11. And al-Qaida has admitted, many times, that it carried out the attacks."

9/11 Myth for Morons!

State Department's State of Denial

Joe,

the State Department needs a lesson on the heat sink capacity of structural steel. It took 22 hours of massive fires to critically weaken the 36,000 tons of steel on the BP oil rig last month. Well, the towers had 100,000 tons each of interconnected steel, yet the heat sinks lasted only 56 minutes for the south tower, while the north tower collapsed in 1 hour 26 minutes. WTC 4, 5 and 6 are good examples of the robust strength of structural steel. Even with massive impact damage from falling debris from the towers, and fires rivaling the BP oil rig's fires, WTC 4, 5 and 6 remained standing.

If al-Qaida committed the attacks, then why doesn't the FBI want Osama bin Laden for 9/11?

As I said in my earlier comment: "Conspiracy theories exist for many dramas involving the United States Government because the official explanations are only fit for the consumption of naive children."

Everyone knows ...

the guvment would never commit a conspiracy theory, the guvment is always 100% open and honest about everything ... OK!

"The Government" wouldn't != "The Government did it"

There are so many fallacies on that site this would be pointless to address them all. But one I would like to is the notion that some peoples' objection that "The Government would never ..." does not equate to "The Government did it". I went through this with my father, the engineer. He kept saying "I don't believe they would have done this". My response was not to say "They did it". My response was to say "look at the engineering aspects". It took a good six months of constant prodding, but he finally came around. I was not telling him that "the government did it", but that was what he was hearing.

Now that's a scarry site!

How long has this site been up? I briefly looked at the 911 stuff but to be honest it made very nervous reading this material from a website ending in gov.
