What is it going to take for concerned and engaged citizens to finally feel as though some crucial threshold has been crossed—that our nation’s political system and the global corporate culture it both serves and feeds into will never represent them or serve their needs? Continuing along that line, what’s to be done once that realization has hit home, as it has for authors Chris Hedges and Derrick Jensen? Both Hedges and Jensen offer their ideas in this July 5 interview with Mount Royal University professor Michael Truscello.

Listen to the interview below:

Chris Hedges
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christopher Lynn Hedges (born September 18, 1956 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont) is an American journalist, author, and war correspondent, specializing in American and Middle Eastern politics and societies.[1] His most recent book, which he discussed on CSPAN's Booktv [2], is Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle (2009).[3]

cool find

Derrick Jensen is a brilliant author, inspired by the likes of Daniel Quinn. Daniel Quinns theory of the Fall and his idea of neo occupational tribalism has been a huge inspiration for me.

Thanks Zombie

You and I may be the only ones who listened to it.

I did not know of Derrick Jensen before this.
Chris Hedges is brilliant as well and becoming quite popular in the alternate world. Though he has not come out for 911Truth (as far as I know) he is certainly more HARD HITTING than most.

right on

I would recommend 'The Culture of Make Believe' by Derrick Jensen. It is an amazing (if lengthy) tome that opened my eyes to some of the deadly memes that operate in our culture.

If you REALLY want to dig into some heady reading I suggest Ishmael and Beyond Civilization by Daniel Quinn.

I'll have to look up some other things Hedges has done, he's kind of new to me. Thanks for sharing :)
