House rejects bill to aid sick 9/11 responders

GOP critics branded the bill

GOP critics branded the bill as yet another big-government "massive new entitlement program" that would have increased taxes and possibly kill jobs.

To pay the bill's estimated $7.4 billion cost over 10 years, the legislation would have prevented foreign multinational corporations incorporated in tax haven countries from avoiding tax on income earned in the U.S.

Yeah right...bail out banks to the tune of a trillion dollars and don't think of that as an "entitlement program"....

It's more important to insure the profitability of corporations than to take care of people who sacrifice their lives for others....or work for a living. The corporations...especially the international banking and finance capital system is at war with the people of the world. Evil has an address and sleeps in a bed somewhere.

Anthony Weiner Rips Apart Republicans on for killing 9/11 Responders Health Care Bill

Too bad we couldn't do more or hear more from him with this type of passion.

thanks so much for this video...

...i live in weiner's district and recently got a "how am i doing?" email from him. i didn't bother replying initially but after seeing the video, i did. see paste below which includes his email address, in case anyone else wants to send him a comment. he may be mayor of nyc someday and in a position to assist 9/11 truth. a longshot, i realize, but may be worth considering.

congressman weiner:

since you asked, i am replying...

i reside in your district. in the past, i have called your office to ask what your position was on key issues. your assistants said they would check and get back to me, but never did, which was very disappointing.

however, this morning on the internet here http://911blogger.com/news/2010-07-30/house-rejects-bill-aid-sick-911-re...
i saw a video of your speech on the house floor passionately speaking up for those who would have benefited from the defeated house bill that would have provided up to $7.4 billion in aid to people sickened by 9/11 world trade center dust. thank you for voting in favor of the bill and especially for speaking up so passionately for the 9/11 victims and heroes. i hope you will continue to support the 9/11 victims and heroes in the future.

Dear Friend:

Most Americans don't take the time to pick up the phone, draft a letter or an email to their Congressman. So it is very important to me to read and respond to every one who does.

So how did I do when you contacted me? Responsive enough? Is my office a good resource? How about my website?

The floor is yours.

Sincerely,
ANTHONY D. WEINER
Member of Congress

Wiener and other Dems Not Sincere

Wiener may look impassioned when it doesn't count - all he had to do to be sincere was to bring this bill in the proper channels where it wouldn't have needed 2/3 majority to pass, but the Democrats were not interested in seeing this pass. So, to be on the level Wiener should have been ranting about not bringing this bill through channels where it would have passed by a simple majority.

7 out of every 10

Greed over compassion..the new American Way.

This is a damn shame. Congress showed their true allegiance to the rich, who own them. Greed kills.

The first thing that

came to my mind was what a bunch of a-holes. We need a change in Government big time! Changing the subject some, this morning I talked to a woman who still thinks 9/11 was not an inside job. "Our government wouldn't do that to us." Ruined my day.

Those that voted no to bill are also sick "sick in the mind"

Those that voted against helping these first responders and their families have to be sick in the head to vote no for this bill.
