Robert Parry is a journalist whose work I have been very impressed by. I even agree with the overall premise of his latest article: that the United States has lost touch with reality. However, he spends several paragraphs denouncing the 9/11 truth movement as a desperate leftist effort. I find his blinders on this one subject disappointing, but it does not devalue his important work.
"...these activists, who became known as '9/11 truthers,' threw out all the evidence of al-Qaeda’s involvement... cherry-picked a few supposed 'anomalies'... recycled many of the Right’s sophistry techniques... Some supporters of the “inside-job” theory may have simply been destabilized by all the years of right-wing disinformation. Reality and real evidence may have lost all currency, replaced by a deep and understandable distrust of the nation's leaders and the news media."

There he goes again.....
I remember seeing Parry at a Project Censored meeting a few years ago. After his talk, an audience member asked him about 9/11 Truth. Parry replied that he didn't believe it.
This is shocking coming from Parry, who knows well the many other horror stories of US politics.
Perhaps he himself "has lost touch with reality" on the 9/11 Truth issue, though I find that hard to believe. In any case, he avoided it like the plague. And now he attacks it?
This itself is an interesting phenomenon, as with Chomsky or Corn who also deride the Truth Movement, and we can only speculate as to why they are this way. But we don't really need these people, do we?

It's interesting how 9-11 activists are mischaracterized as far left or far right, depending on who is writing..

The thing is we can expect these attacks to get sneakier and dirtier as 9/11 Truth gains momentum. It turns my stomach, but at the same time their panic and desperation that this issue will not go away is palpable. I don't know who got to this guy, but he's now part of the disinfo fabric. Permanently marked in history as a co-conspirator in the cover-up. So smug and so wrong.

I couldn't agree more. It goes to show how deep the politics really are doesn't it. Nothing scares these guys like 911truth. The sad part is if the perps can stall or sabotage the cause another 10 or 15 years most people won't really care about 911 and it will be securely woven into the vague quilt of history along with JFK,RFK,MLK, Gulf of Tonkin etc. While there are some recent rumblings about the OK-Murrah case time is quickly running out. For example Waco, Jonestown, Hinckley, Chapman,etc are just memories involving "lone nut" scenarios. Time is our enemy even I can't recall that Big Hedge Fund failure between the S&L Crisis and the latest AIG-Lehman et al scandal.

9/11 is indeed the defining test of a person's real honesty/morality/courage. We see it all the time. Cowards and liars cannot face 9/11, it freaks them out at a very deep level. Parry is marked forever as an accessory-after-the-fact to a mass murder. Well said.
