9/11 skeptics get roasted by dedicated truth seekers

With one-quarter of Canadians believing the truthers, even the “independent” Georgia Straight feels the immediate need to trash their views [“Truth seekers question 9/11”, September 9-16].

Lee Moller of the B.C. Society for Skeptical Enquiry has one quick response to claims that 9/11 was perpetrated by the American government: “The government is made up of tens of thousands of people, and they’ve all got different motivations, so it’s almost impossible to imagine that the government could pull off something like this and have nobody find out about it.”

How can Moller posture as a leader of skeptical enquiry when he subscribes to the most basic, most simplistic, most sublimely ignorant view of all? Mr. Moller, have you ever heard of the Manhattan Project, which involved about 50,000 people and was kept secret for decades? Have you ever heard of Operation Northwoods, a 1962 plan to deceive Cuba into war, that the Pentagon was confident could be done secretly?

Oh, and by the way, the U.S. government has millions of employees, including hundreds of thousands of persons with security rating, meaning they can say nothing at all about anything. And, of course, all covert schemes are done on a need-to-know basis, reducing the number who know the whole picture to a handful.

Moller, if you could just start thinking, let alone getting skeptical.

Bravo to the ever-increasing legions of 9/11 truth seekers and shame to the dwindling numbers of complacent passersby that like to think our leaders in government, whether domestic or foreign, are there for the general public’s best interest.

It never ceases to amaze me when someone who might pass as “intelligent”, like a history professor, dismisses a growing movement on the basis that it is a “natural human thing”.

Of course, it is a natural human thing to question something as preposterous as the so-called 9/11 Commission Report, as well as the Warren commission report on the assassination of John F. Kennedy. It’s a scary world out there, but it’s even scarier knowing that “respectable” people like Mark Leier are doing their best to convince the public that the official story about the tragic events of 9/11 is true.

Terrible pity.

"Mr. Moller, have you ever heard of the Manhattan Project, which involved about 50,000 people and was kept secret for decades? Have you ever heard of Operation Northwoods, a 1962 plan to deceive Cuba into war, that the Pentagon was confident could be done secretly?'"

We can now add the true story of the Titanic, which was just revealed by the granddaughter of a surviving ship officer, ninety eight years after the fact. It turns out the collision with the iceburg was due to a mistaken procedure by an inexperienced person. The second mistake was that the ship was ordered to continue on, which is why it sank so quickly. If it had just remained where it was at the time of the collision, it is likely that all hands could have been saved. So conspiracies are kept secret for a long time because people are motivated to keep them secret.

Do we?

Do we really know what happened to the Titanic? Why? Because the books tell us what happened? Just sayin'...

Since Southampton there was a dangerous coal fire heart of ship

and you know there was a coal fire deep inside the Titanic since leaving Southampton that had to be put and risked to panic the passengers
see for example

The ship's company responsibility is different in this light. Big money is at stake to know who pays !

It is unnecessary

to invoke the Manhattan project, because people DID talk and we DID find out about it. Ergo the "we would have found out" argument is RIDICULOUS.

If we did not find out, then why do we have a movement? In fact, we even found out about it BEFOREHAND. [Bill Cooper, Alex Jones]

But I NEVER see this counterargument in the comment sections.

Of course I'm sure you aware

that even the Vice President at the time didn't know about the project until after he became president and was briefed. I would say that proves that secrets can be kept.

The Nighthalk 117 Stealth Fighter and B2 bomber

Were kept secret for many years.

It doesn't matter

Because somebody did talk and we did find out about it. Beforehand. Which is why we have a movement.
