BuildingWhat? Round 2

December 5, 2010

Dear Friends,

We are very pleased and excited to announce the launch of a new fundraising drive for the next round of BuildingWhat? TV ads. Before going into the details of Round 2, here is a brief recap of what has happened to bring us to this point:

Thanks to the generosity of thousands of supporters across the globe, the BuildingWhat? TV ad campaign was able to raise $100,000 and reach a remarkable 1 million viewers in the New York Metropolitan Area during the month of November, most of them seeing footage of World Trade Center Building 7’s destruction for the first time ever.

The campaign also received the media attention it deserved in the form of an appearance on FOX News’ Geraldo At Large in front of a national audience of 1 millon more viewers. After that momentous breakthrough, Geraldo and FOX News’ Andrew Napolitano affirmed their skepticism of the official explanation for Building 7’s destruction, resulting in a flurry of responses from other media outlets including CNN, MSNBC and the Huffington Post.

With the media’s coverage of Building 7 poised to go in one of two directions—subsiding into nothingness or exploding into a bona fide discussion about the government's bogus explanation for Building 7’s destruction—it is now time for us to dig deep and take the BuildingWhat? campaign to the next level.

"BuildingWhat?" Round 2

This time around, we are setting a fundraising goal of $200,000 that we hope to reach by January 1, 2011. The TV ad campaign for Round 2, set to launch in New York City in mid to late January, will be much larger than Round 1, and it will go hand-in-hand with an online viral campaign, a print ad campaign, and a PR effort coordinated by top professionals in the industry who are capable of landing BuildingWhat? more priceless media coverage.

We ask you to support BuildingWhat? Round 2 with whatever amount is manageable for you. If you donated to Round 1, we are counting on you to match your previous donation. If you were very pleased with the results from Round 1—and you are able—we invite you to double your previous donation. Do not forget that every dollar you donate is fully tax-deductible when you file your taxes after December 31.

Finally, please help Round 2 be an even greater success than Round 1 by forwarding this letter to all of your friends and family and posting it everywhere you can.

We are getting closer and closer to the floodgates being thrown open. If we persevere and stick together we can make it happen.

Please donate now.

Thank you for your tremendous support.

Sincerely,

The BuildingWhat? Team

Joy.

It is always thrilling to see progress, and my hat goes off, more than words can say, but considering that 2/3rds of NYC disbelieves the government anyway, why isn't it airing, say in Los Angeles?. Why not in Washington DC? Large populations that are not in the know.

Why?

$$$

Concentrate our resources on our best shot

NY is where it happened

That is where the greatest unrest is

NYC CAN has their shit together

When the people who can afford to kick in some big money start doing so, we can go national.

I hope no one is mad at me

I hope no one is mad at me for repeating this, but truly, we can sing to the choir here. NYC doesn't need to be impacted with this awareness now. Other parts of the country do. Consider how easy it was to get all the signatures to bring the "investigation" that sadly though did not happen, but the point is, NYC is already with us. Most of them. Despite the enthusiasm, of all, and I can't help but be thrilled, at the progress already made, but, we really ought to put the ad where it's most effective. Redundancy is wasteful. We succeeded in NYC already! I wonder what others here think. We should have the discussion among us.

Watch what the Director of Homeland Security says...

Repetition is what works - That's how they sold the OCT

Geraldo saw the ad because it aired in the big Apple, the center of gravity for MSM. We are in an information war and my experience in the entertainment industry here on the left coast is that it's all about "buzz" - get people talking about it and keep them talking about it. As a war tactic, concentrate your forces using your strength against your enemies weakness. The TM is the strongest in NY because that's where it happened and the wall of silence is cracking. We can reach more people in NY than any other market. People all over the north east can get NY stations. We got two free MSM spots, coverage at HufPost and Media Matters, and probably more. Next would LA and SF but we should keep it going in NY and build on what NYC CAN et al have already accomplished.

BTW: As I understand it, David Ray Griffin introduced the Building What? campaign idea in this article:
http://www.911truth.org/article.php?story=20100527162010811

A history of how it evolved would be very interesting.

NYC is the media center of America

until family members & AE911 members are inside each major studio, meeting real people & making lasting relationships. our mission is not done.

But I do agree that the rest of the Nation, should have a similar media outreach.

Good Strategy

Do the first 2 in NYC and the 3rd in LA.... Yes, many in NYC are already with us, but they need to contact and follow-up with the City Council and D.A. We need to put tremendous pressure on these local authorities. And any resultant media coverage becomes national coverage. Plus we might get a big sponsor or two in the process. We might already have one from Round 1.

Also the Opinion Poll is already funded, and so the continued focus in New York can only help the poll results, which in turn will be used to apply even more pressure on these local officials.... AND will be a national news item.

Remember also that AE911Truth has funded the PBS ads, which will reach 3 million PBS viewers nationwide with 500 airings guaranteed. (A 5-minute mini doc on WTC 7, further promoting Building 7 awareness nationally.) Meanwhile, please volunteer to put "Blueprint for Truth" on your local Cable Access station for free. Contact AE's Public Outreach Team via the form if you need any assistance. Or email me and I can probably send you the 1-hr. DVD.

LA!!!...get the Celebrities Speaking Out.

I would love to see the celebrities come out en masse for 9/11 TRUTH, Peace and Justice.

You know many have discussed doing so. Had to have.

Count me in..

I can't do as much as I want but I will as much as I can. I'll pair down a few gift cards instead of giving it some corporation to raise a few more bucks. I got lots of OT coming up too :o).

Just donated

I just put in $20, and that's a lot on my budget.

I am pleased with the success of the ads so far and am proud to help continue to momentum. I admit I stayed out during the first round of fundraising because I predicted the TV stations would probably refuse to broadcast the ads. At least I kept my negative predictions to myself, and I'm quite glad to have been wrong.

(My negative prediction was not mindless pessimism. It was based off of memories of some anti-suv ads from 2003 that many TV stations would not play: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=990CE4DF133EF93BA35752C0A...)

I gave what I could

This is the way to go. We got one helluva return on our first $100,000, let's do it again. ;-)

Any chance...

This campaign can be changed to "Philip Who?" as in Philip Zelikow?

Not a chance

;-)

That's...

Too bad.

I live in the NE

& had two friends call me up to tell me they randomly saw the ad. It is working

Really hope a big pocket supporter can cut a very large check & take this to the next level.

Yesterday...

It was confirmed that "Saudi Arabia is the world's largest source of funds for Islamist militant groups such as the Afghan Taliban and Lashkar-e-Taiba (and Al-Qaeda) – but the Saudi government is reluctant to stem the flow of money."

Philip Zelikow, during the 9/11 Commission, refused "to Approve Half of Interview Requests for ‘Saudi Connection’ Investigators." He blocked "access to key Document by ‘Saudi Connection’ Investigators." He fired a "'Saudi Connection’ Investigator from 9/11 Commission in Dispute over 28 Redacted Pages from Congressional Inquiry." He deleted "passages about apparent Saudi Support for Hijackers from Main Text of Final Report."

That's only one aspect of the 9/11 Cover-Up. He was in charge of managing all of it. In my opinion, more attention should be brought to Philip Zelikow and the ridiculousness of the 9/11 Commission. It's easier to stomach than Controlled Demolition, and can't be brushed aside with a debunking.

It also couldn't hurt to explain WHY this cause is so important.

Saudi Arabia

tosses around so much $$ in America, it's very hard to get dirt reported on them.

Mike Moore did a good job on the details in Fahrenheit 9/11.

Also keep in mind that FOX is 10% owned by a Saudi Prince, so if they ever take this angle on I'd be super suprised.. but maybe guys like Napolitano, Geraldo etc have had enough.

I agree with you about putting the heat on Zelikow & think he should be the first of many to go down.

I wouldn't be surprised if

I wouldn't be surprised if the Judge heard about that from me since he was on the same show as this.

And Bolton is wrong. It is also the Saudi Royals, or people affiliated with them.

Jon, your comment is off topic

and it appears you are trying to hijack the thread.

Please desist and create a separate blog for the information in your comment.

I would love to see a "Philip Who?" campaign, design an ad, get it critiqued and start raising money.

This thread is about the second round of the Building What? campaign.

Thanks.

Not "hijacking"...

Anything. What's wrong with bringing up a suggestion for the campaign in a thread specifically about the "next round" for the campaign? One that I think would be more beneficial than "Building What?" What I think is sad is that my INFORMATIVE posts are getting voted down. Oh well.

Give the idea its own blog,

is what I am saying.

I have no problem with either the idea or the information.

How about a "NORAD Where?" campaign while we're at it?

Jon - Whether you like it or not, that fact IS that WTC 7 is an easy and useful hook for many people, and there is already an effective campaign that has demonstrated results taking place (one that involves family members, too!).

If you can't support it 100%, at least make peace with its existence and move on.

(I assume that you're not seriously suggesting that the BuildingWhat? campaign morph itself into something entirely different, as that is one of the more counterproductive and inane ideas I've come across in awhile, and that is the last thing I would expect from you, counter-productivity and/or inanity )

[Btw, baiting, badgering and/or bullying is not looked on kindly on this site]

Thank you for respecting the spirit, as well as the letter, of the rules and guidelines of the site.

I hope that you and yours are well.

Wow...

I'm not baiting, badgering or bullying anyone... talk to Aidan Monaghan who talks about "some" people not getting it (gee, do you think he was talking about me, it's hard to tell... he's so clever with his passive aggressiveness). The fact that family members are involved is the ONLY reason I have given it any attention at all. If they did morph into what I'm suggesting, I wouldn't have a problem with that at all because as I said, I think it would reach more people.

Also, I wouldn't support a "NORAD Where?" campaign either because I also don't think that would reach as many people as what I'm suggesting.

On top of that, I don't want to "compete" with NYCCAN's Building What? campaign.

Agreed - "Building What?" Deserves Complete Support

The "Building What?" campaign may generate a re-examination of WTC 7 and perhaps even the entire topic of 9/11.

Some do not seem to get it..

A Philip Who?

Campaign would most assuredly bring a re-examination of the entire topic of 9/11 because Philip Zelikow was in charge of managing the entirety of the cover-up. If you discredit the investigation that was sold to the world as being the definitive account of 9/11, then you open the door to a real investigation into the entirety of 9/11. And it's a lot easier to swallow than Controlled Demolition. On top of that, I guarantee less people know about Philip Zelikow than they do WTC7. I remember Dom Giordano arguing with Betsy and I 2 1/2 years ago saying, "if I hear about WTC7 one more time..."

Ahem...please create a blog and make your case there

It is off topic here and will garner more attention, and more serious attention, if it is promoted in a separate blog.

Thanks.

This is

Great stuff. It is a shame we don't have more money so that way we could go nation wide. What an impact that would make. Perhaps we could borrow the money from Rummy. After all he has 3.2 trillion laying around someplace.

Don't use Paypal to make donation

As many of you know, Paypal has taken an official stand against Wikileaks. I for one will never use Paypal again. I hope you feel the same way.

What do we really know?

When I look at carefully measured analysis of the demolition of the towers on Sept 11, 2001 I don't need anyone's interpretation nor approval. Basic physics and observation tell me what I need to know. Tells any and all who care to look.

When I know that some 34 minutes after the second tower in NYC had been hit, and -- by official account -- yet another airliner flies apparently unidentified and unchallenged into the airspace of our national capitol for a direct hit on the Pentagon, I don't need anyone's interpretation nor approval to raise an eyebrow. The dullest knife in the drawer knew we were under a coordinated attack. The 'mystery' of the Pentagon attack is THAT IT WAS HIT AT ALL.

With Wikileaks, it's DIFFERENT. We are asked to make a leap and a presumption on the veracity of their 'revelations'. Main stream media can't seem to tell us quickly enough, nor forcefully enough how 'damaging' these releases are. Perhaps they are. But perhaps they tell those of us paying attention what we ALREADY know, and nudge us in a direction and wrap us in a frame of the 'wiki-leaker's' preference. In short, I do not presume THEIR authority by the simple act of telling me something 'racy'.

I note that Mr. Assange is "annoyed" by the 9/11 Truth movement and its "distractions". In my humble opinion -- based on a lot of personal time and research about 9/11 -- he can go to hell. He hasn't done his homework.

Not meant to be personal, turboglo, just my interpretation at this time.

Lint in pocket & little doe ray me, BuildingWhat.org still can!

I'll add what I can to the BuildingWhat.org fund.

Not being a rich man like media mogul Rupert Murdoch I try to imitate big media in my home town by bringing the latest news and information regarding the unsolved crimes of 9/11 sharing leaflets and putting up posters on city provided kiosks. Recent Grey Cup football celebrations was yet another opportunity to be the media. This time it was all about " BuildingWhat.org" addressing WTC7 hardly any one here knows about. My printing costs were low, and footwork and perseverance was all I needed to accomplish what I set out to do sharing 600 leaflets and installing 100 posters on city provided kiosks during all this football fun., the best part for me is engaging the public as a 9/11 truth activist. I find that rewarding and encouraging to continue more!

That is all so good - Thank you very much

A pleasant positive attitude will usually get a pleasant response and the best chance of getting someone to take you seriously. Well done indeed.

Way to go CANADA CIA [a better use of that acronym ;-) ]
