Shock and awe indeed

Except that in this example from Las Vegas, no one was killed, nor did it lead to repressive measures at home and agressive wars abroad.

And they were up front about the fact that the fire was there for show, for the sheer spectacle--and that it was pre-planted explosives and NOT the flames which, in the end, brought the structure down.
