Video: 9/11 Fighter Pilot, Col. Tim Duffy

Col. Tim Duffy visited Sonoma County, Ca on June 25th. He came to the Pacific Coast Air Museum, where the F-15 he flew on 9/11 is on display for the local 9/11 memorial.

Part 1 of 3

Col. Tim Duffy describes the day of 9/11 from his perspective. He also begins to take questions from the audience. Noteably, he describes the towers destruction as an "impolosion", rather than a "collapse" - and mentions his prior intercept mission in the past.

Part 2 of 3

Col. Tim Duffy answers questions from the audience. Questions include topics of: A prior intercept mission; being held at 2 fighter jets as opposed to 4 or 6 when patrollong NY, communications, and more...

Part 3 of 3

I am able to approach Col. Tim Duffy after the event to ask if he was able to read the 9/11 Commission Report, and if he was satisfied with his section in it.

Please see the History Commons website on Col. Tim Duffy, and this recent thread at 9/11 Blogger.

missed opportunity?

Second video, time 3:45. It is about "Norad ATC".
Do I understood Col. Tim Duffy him right in that way, that he communicated directly with the ATC of FAA, New York? Then it would have been very interesting, weather Bruce Barrett (OMIC, FAA, New York) really did not want to have the fighters over New York and threw them out over the Atlantic.

Yes, it was my impression

Yes, it was my impression that Col. Duffy was talking to ATC New York and NORAD from his plane.
