hi Abby, does anything any of

hi Abby, does anything any of us do really matter any more? most everyone on take some how or another since need to eat. it seems same things repeated for 100's or thousands of years. maybe seems only way to effect change is to stop spending $, stop consuming. i'm now in midwest and seems working class which is just about everyone cares nothing about what's actually going on around them, 911 lies, WH spin, fake war on terror, PNAC agenda, destroying mother nature, taking away our freedoms, etc., etc., rather only that they can feed their family. Occupy wall street is supposed to be leadership-less resistance but then make rules for forum no talking about this, that and other. What is point. Ad busters with all their talking then charges high subscription price. Give up fighting then we die, stop eating then we die, succumb as slaves then we die, in end we die anyway, i don't mean to be morbid and negative, but what point is it to get killed or critically injured fighting against what is part of all of us, greed, fear, etc.

Jesus....

Man c'mon you can't think like that. We gotta keep serving to inspire each other!!!! Keep your head up, this whole OWS movement is extremely inspiring because if nothing else it tells us that people are waking up to the fact that we can't count on the political establishment to change SHIT.

More re TSA screenings

Hi Abby, A propos your comments on TSA screenings, I wonder if you're familiar with the story about the screener who has been suspended and will likely be fired (pending appeal) for leaving an inappropriate message in a woman's luggage, referring to a sex toy found inside. TSA did this after the traveler in question, a lawyer named Jill Filipovic, blogged about it and it wound up getting a lot of hits, generating publicity to the point where TSA had to respond. You might be interested to see what Filipovic has to say in a blog entry, where she indicates that she doesn't think firing this employee is the right response:

http://www.feministe.us/blog/archives/2011/10/26/note-leaving-tsa-agent-suspended/

'...the problem with the note is that it’s representative of the bigger privacy intrusions that the U.S. government, through the TSA and other sources, levels every day. The invasion is inherent to the TSA’s mission, regardless of whether a funny note is left behind — the note only serves to highlight the absurdity of all this security theater....I get no satisfaction in hearing that someone may be in danger of losing their job over this. I would much prefer a look at why ‘security’ has been used to justify so many intrusions on our civil liberties, rather than fire a person who made a mistake.'

Very interesting...

Thanks for the info. Crazy!
