Appearing on the Alex Jones Show yesterday, civil rights icon Dick Gregory shared the story of how he was told to leave New York the night before 9/11, echoing similar warnings that were received on the eve of the attacks by other high profile figures.

Gregory’s 9/11 comments appear at the 18 minute mark.

Gregory said he was already in New York on September 10th and called his wife to ask where she had booked him in to stay for the night.

“You’re not, your friend called me and told me to tell you don’t spend the night in New York tonight,” Gregory said his wife told him.

Gregory took the advice and immediately got the train back to Washington DC that night. After arriving home and calling his friend to ask him how he knew Gregory was in New York, Gregory said his friend told him, “We picked you up on the satellite, brother.”

After watching the attacks in New York unfold on the news, Gregory called his friend again who told him, “You owe me one”.

The warning peaked Gregory’s interest in 9/11 and having noted numerous inconsistencies in the official story, he became an advocate for 9/11 truth and justice in the following years.

Gregory is by no means the only high profile figure to have received a warning on the eve of 9/11.

According to a Newsweek report that was published two days after the attacks, top Pentagon officials received a warning “the night before the attacks” that caused them to cancel a trip into New York.

San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown was also scheduled to fly into New York on the morning of the 11th. After calling to check with what he described as his “airport security,” Brown was warned eight hours before the attacks to be cautious about air travel. Before he boarded his plane, Brown saw the 9/11 attack unfolding and canceled his trip.

Author Salman Rushdie believes U.S. authorities’ prior knowledge of “an imminent terrorist strike” was what caused them to ban him from flying just a week before the attacks.

The New York Daily News also reported that some Middle Easterners in the New York area “were warned ahead of time to stay out of lower Manhattan the morning of Sept. 11.”

Come on Mr. Gregory

Could you please tell us who this friend was and how he could have known in advance?

How come nobody is asking for this information?

I did try to contact Mr. Gregory through his website. Silence.

After all this time?

Why did it take 10 years to talk about?

I say sham.

How can this man still be on a fast for 9/11 truth as he stated over a year ago while he just stated he would fast for Somalia with George Clooney?

Dick Gregory rocks, but I think at his age he is turning to some lip-service to further the missions he chooses.
