NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Seattle head coach Pete Carroll hosted a retired four-star general at the Seahawks facility last spring and blitzed him with questions about whether the 9/11 attacks “had been planned or faked” by the government, according to Deadspin.com.

Decorated general Peter Chiarelli, who had just called it a career, was discussing football and brain injuries with Carroll before the conversation took a turn, Deadspin reported.

“Every 9/11 conspiracy theory you can think of, Pete asked about,” former NFL linebacker Riki Ellison told Deadspin.

Ellison said Carroll “didn’t stop at 9/11—he had lots of questions about the role of the military today.”

Ellison founded the non-profit Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance. He connected Carroll with Chiarelli and was at the meeting along with offensive line coach Pat Ruel, according to Deadspin.

“Pete had a four-star general in the room, one of the army’s top guys,” Ellison told the website. “Why wouldn’t you push the envelope?”

It’s unclear whether the exchange went sour. One source close to the general told Deadspin that it got testy, though he wasn’t in the room. Meanwhile, Ellison insisted it was a “fun” discussion.

“Pete grew up in California during Vietnam, and during Watergate,” Ellison said. “That’s just the perspective he brings to the table.”

Story projects strength

Admittedly this story is light on details, but it does project boldness and strength to the general public regarding 9/11 questions and the need for truth. It's good that this was covered on CBS in New York and is being spread around on Facebook and elsewhere.

Head coach of an NFL team. That's pretty damn all-American.

Great story

Great story, thanks RL McGee!

Truth starts as heresy and in time becomes self evident.

As a Seattleite

As a Seattleite just several hours after Super Bowl 48, I want to congratulate Pete Carroll for his team's victory--and for standing up for what is right. Reading about his questioning of 9/11 is as inspiring as a pep talk on a very grand scale.

Thanks, Coach. And also to RL for posting this.

Interesting, sort of an innocent version of the Susurluk scandal

The Susurluk scandal ensued when a traffic accident in Turkey arrested the movements of the car's occupants and created a snapshot in time of how things work. From this incident arose the idea of the Deep State. Here we have kind of strange bedfellows, a linebacker, a football coach, and a general.
From the looks of things they were associating but not completely sympatico as in the Turkish fiasco below:

In November 1996 a traffic accident occured in Susurluk near the city of Balikesir, in which Abdullah Çatlı, a former ultra-rightist militant wanted by police for multiple murders and drug trafficking; Huseyin Kocadağ, a senior police official; and beauty queen Gonca Us are killed and Sedat Bucak, a Parliament deputy from the DYP is injured.*

What other perspective is there?

“Pete grew up in California during Vietnam, and during Watergate,” Ellison said. “That’s just the perspective he brings to the table.” What other perspective is there? 'Cause we had all sorts of rigorous government reform and such like, so that'll never happen again. Right?

pete carroll and 9/11

Good for you, Coach. You're proving that a successful coach need not have a militaristic personality. I'm now a Seahawks fan.

One has to be fair and pragmatic and live in the real world

and I think Pete Carroll does just that. The guy seems like a legitimate, down to earth, fair, and decent person.

There are reasons for having a military and there have been times in history when force was the only option to prevent even worse tragedies. However, there is no reason for the United States to ever be involved in a war for aggressive reasons and if 911 was perpetrated by domestic actors to garner support for a hidden agenda then that was the outcome.

It is becoming more and more clear to many people that what we were told happened on Sept. 11, 2001 simply cannot be true and that there most certainly were domestic players involved who have yet to be investigated and are still at large in society.
