Self-destructive behavior?
A subconscious death wish? Putting herself in harm's way is a mistake.
If she goes to the Middle East, my guess is she's not coming back.
So my advice is don't go.

Courage.
I believe Cindy is motivated by courage and a need to do right. I imagine she knows the risks and is willing to take them. She is the rare person to whom doing nothing is cowardice and the causes of Truth and Justice are worth risking her life for. Taken in context, thousands of kids are being asked to risk their lives for greed and deceit. Who is in fact the more courageous here?
I agree with your advice but I don't think our opinions will make a difference.
I wish her success.
