Bill Maher's opinion is naive about 9/11: Sheldon Drobny

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sheldon-drobny/bill-mahers-opinion-is-n_b_64742.html

I think that Bill Maher is the most talented political pundit of this generation. Since he decided to exclude the right wing nuts from his show, he speaks with much greater credibility. However, his last show was disappointing to me when he essentially marginalized anyone who has doubts about the official 9/11 story. By focusing only upon the controlled demolition theory of the Twin Towers, he excluded a more viable discussion of the collapse of building # 7 that was not hit by anything but the debris from towers 1 and 2. He further criticized those who have other doubts about the official story by intimating that it is ridiculous to believe that our government would attack its own people.

The flaw in that argument is the belief by Maher and other critics that it is absurd to believe that the U.S. Government would attack itself. Those of us who doubt the official story are suggesting that those in high positions in government may have had the motive and opportunity to allow this attack to succeed. This would make it a renegade operation by those in government, not "the U.S. Government." Most of what is done in the name of our government has been hidden from the public since WW II. There are numerous CIA operations in the past 60 years that have been done in the name of our government without the consent of the people.

There are so many failures that took place simultaneously on 9/11 that it is almost an insult to our intelligence to believe that there is no need for further investigation. I agree that government in this administration has been incompetent. However, the unexplained failure of our air defense system and our intelligence agencies goes way beyond incompetence given all that was known by those in government shortly before the event. To use the controlled demolition theory as the sole excuse to argue that those who question the official 9/11 story are in need of Paxil is an insult to those who really want explanations and not just official government self-serving propaganda. And Bill Maher should know better. I would like Maher to explain the other tangible inconsistencies about 9/11 instead of focusing on the controlled demolition theory.

Dear Simuvac

.......so true.

Didn't Bill Maher date Man

Didn't Bill Maher date Man Coulter?
Can you imagine, not that you'd want to imagine.

I mean I think that says it all.

Says it all and more.

This clip shows how low we've sunk as a people. I could not believe the sickening banter- even from FOX.

Man Coulter -- That's funny

She's was pretty sweet in her day. Strikingly beautiful if you like that look. She's starting to show her age pretty bad now, though. (that's what you get for living "the good life" instead of "a good life", plus "evil" tends to take its own toll) I doubt if I could have personally gotten past her überPsychotic ultra-conservatism, but if I didn't have to talk to her and had the chance to take a whack at her, as it were, I doubt of there are many who would have passed up that chance, even under the circumstances. And who knows — maybe all she needs is/needed was one good orgasm to set her straight and see the light about how Republican Conservatism is basically evil and Democratic Liberalism is the right way to go. (more or less) It's a valid theory that deserves to be put to the test. She's so anal retentive that what she really probably needs is a good enema or three. That might do wonders for her outlook. There's a time would I have offered to help her out with that, as well, but she's on her own now. (Am I bad?)

I didn't write this

Sheldon Drobny at HuffingtonPost did.

Maybe drop him a line and say thanks.

Well put

You make excellent points, although I wouldn't call Maher "most talented political pundit of this generation".

I looked for this post on Huffpost's homepage and, strange as it seems, nowhere to be found. Lots of bullshit posts, though, so I guess everything's as it should be.

Again

I didn't write it.

I wouldn't call Maher a talented political pundit. I think he appears that way to some people because their sense of political punditry is limited to television.

Raw Story's column on this has over 400 comments about it

and they are 90% on the side of people questioning 911 and wanting a new investigation. Here is the link to the story. At the bottom is a link to the comments with the number of them highlighted in blue.

http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Bill_Maher_Thinks_911_Truthers_should_0915...

This has been going on for two days and is still going strong.

They say it is a record breaker at Raw

It was kind of nice to be in the majority for once.

Darn it!

I hate being in the majority... what am I gonna do now?

Show "I wish the 9/11 Truth" by DHS

I wish Maher wasn't a Shill.

But the fact is math & physics DON'T lie, people do. I liken the official lie of jet fuel induced collapse to the 'magic bullet' theory, both are absurd, to say the least. 'They' have to attack the most compelling evidence that points directly to an inside job.

Mention the dancing Israeli's & they say you're an anti-Semite.

Mention CD & they say you need to be medicated.

Yet, the truth grows stronger everyday....

Show "I've never seen a 500MPH" by DHS

Of course, you likely need

Of course, you likely need Paxil if you think kerosene fires are capable of melting steel and, more to the point, if you believe government will not kill its own citizens.

maher, what a joke. that prick doesn't go anywhere without a whore in sight. you think if you were that old and ugly you could still pull playmates? the dude knows which side his bread is buttered on. he's as worthless as my dirty underwear to the 9/11 movement. leave the shill to roast himself in the history books. suck it hard, billy!

The Responsibility Rests...

On the shoulders of the families of the 911 Victims who didn't accept the hush money. It still might not be too late to make a case in court. LAWSUITS and ATTORNEYS are what is needed to take the 911 Consciousness Movement to the next level. We don't need to rue over Bill Maher. It's not his responsibility to get the Truth out. ~He is entitled to his skepticism.~ Many of us were also skeptical of 911 Truth at one time. On the other hand the families of the Victims *owe* it to the Victims themselves to pursue this legally to force the Truth out in the discovery process only court and subpoenas can lend. Class Action lawsuits from Victims Families may be the only way the Victims can strike back at those who harmed them. The Families are their representatives.

I expected Drew Carey to speak up

But maybe he's blown all of his "The Drew Carey Show" money on the asses of hookers and needs the two new jobs he's doing.

But, then, we know it's not about intelligence, otherwise we would have many, many more people jumping on the band wagon.

(some of us know it's not about intelligence, anyway — some still don't "get it")

Secrecy is the beginning of tyranny. — Robert Heinlein

Probably not naive...

"How big a lunatic do you have to be to watch two giant airliners packed with jet fuel slam into buildings on live TV, igniting a massive inferno that burned for two hours, and then think 'Well, if you believe that was the cause...'
Stop asking me to raise this ridiculous topic on the show and start asking your doctor if Paxil is right for you." -- Bill Maher, 09-14-07

The question is, how big a lunatic do YOU have to be, Mr. Maher, to swallow the official theory with so many discrepancies, hook, line and sinker? Maybe you should use some of that Paxil yourself, calm down, and invite some real experts to your show to create a meaningful debate?

Imagine that -- as if there was nothing to investigate -- the planes hit the buildings, the buildings were on fire, the buildings came down -- case closed! The use of adjectives also helps: "giant airlines" (not really, just 767s), "massive infernos" (nope, not that massive at all, compared to many other fires in other high-rises that did not collapse). Apparently, the "hollow steel shaft" was not even necessary in light of the previous two strong arguments! How pathetic! It is mindboggling to hear something so dumb from otherwise witty Bill Maher!

I still don't get it -- why be proactive about it? If he doesn't want to deal with 9-11, couldn't he just be quiet on the topic? Is he so much scared of strike two in his career that he needs to actually take proactive role in the government cover story on the biggest issue of our society right now? Is his show doing so bad that he needs to take the Dennis Miller route -- selling out to political interests?

It sure is curious. But I don't believe for a second that he would not see the 9-11 white elephant in the livingroom. I don't think he is naive. Paid off or scared is more likely...

what to make of Bill Maher

I watched his last show and was extremely po'd when he bashed the truth movement near the end of the show.
For a guy that bashes GW continuously and has called him a liar more times than one can count it boggles my mind that he believes the official story. I have to think he must have gotten to the point where he has researched some of what we've been saying if for no other reason than to try to discredit us. He continues to hide behind his favorite "Bush isn't smart enough to pull that off" diatribe. My best guess is that HBO has silenced him. If I'm not mistaken he did lose his previous show on ABC very shortly after speaking out about 9/11. I believe it had something to do with blaming foreign policy. Bill doesn't strike me as the kind that would ignore any research presented to him... then again maybe not.

New Rule: Come to Los Angeles to protest

and get on the show as a large group and give him something to talk about. We can also protest in front of CBS television city at Fairfax and Beverly blvds. on Friday afternoon as audience files into the auditorium.

I'm there

I'll be in the audience... got the callback yesterday.

"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." - Mark Twain

Yep, sold out...

So it seems. Looks like we'll going to see more of him on MSM. Today he will be on CNN's Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. He is also featured on Yahoo along with Charlie Rose, asking questions from presidential candidates. And what do you know -- this MSM entry just happens to coincide with his 9-11 truth bashing. I think we can officially call him Dennis Miller now.

HA! calling him Dennis

HA! calling him Dennis Miller has easily got to be the best insult ive heard yet. both of them are too smart for the room in their own minds.

"The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media." ~ William Colby, Former Director, CIA

And just like Dennis

And just like Dennis Miller's sell-out was a prelude to his fading into obscurity, so, I predict, will happen to Bill Maher, unfortunately. Man, in this life you've got to stand for something if you want to be respected! All the help Dennis gave to neo-cons gave him no boost to his career -- commercials, guest appearances, short-lived shows -- that's about it. Now he has hit the rock bottom -- O'Reilly and Hannity & Colmes. Having started out as a renegade, politically incorrect comedian, can one sink any lower than that? Using an example in the spirit of Dennis' own often-used prison theme, he resembles a guy with a weak character who has not managed to find his niche in the prison, and has become a bitch for the biggest, hairiest guy.

Hey, Dennis himself is not least bit of shy about selling out. Just check his Wikipedia entry:

“Everybody has to sell out at some point to make a living. I'm a family man. I sold out to make an M&M commercial. They offer incredible amounts of money, and I say, ‘What can I do to sell one more piece of candy for you?'"

So, there you have it, from the horse's mouth. Unfortunately, I see the same pattern repeating with Bill Maher.

So, what's next in your schedule, Bill? M&M commercials? Guest appearances on Jay Leno? You should have stayed on the side of truth, man!

one can hope right? :-) "The

one can hope right? :-)

"The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media." ~ William Colby, Former Director, CIA

Maher is VERY naive

In fact, I would call that one if his greatest and worst faults.

He never grew up, so he acts like a little boy. And when adults act like children, "bad things" are the inevitable result.

Bill Maher should be the poster boy for that.
