I use a free software called "Orbit Downloader" ( http://www.orbitdownloader.com ). It's a stand alone program but works with both Internet Explorer and Firefox. It has a feature called a "grabber" that will "sniff out" the underlying file behind a IE or Firefox web page streaming a video and then allow you to download it in Orbit. However, the MSN site mentioned showed the video to be in many small pieces rather than one file, something I haven't run into before. Maybe they do that to thwart downloaders, although I guess one could do it and string them together. Anyway, I didn't try.

If anyone is interested, I found a "portable" version of Orbit, which I use on my flash drive at a local university library, because my home connection is much slower and I go there to download stuff. I forget just where I found it on the internet -- it was a European site -- but if anyone wants, I'll try to find it. But the link above is fine for using it on your home computer. As far as I know, it has no spyware or other malware attached.
