McGee, You are so right about a campaign of signs. I have read your posts and insistence on this in the past. I support your idea completely.

Us guys who do the field work and hit the streets passing out DVDs and putting up signs know how the repeated message of TRUTH via signs can have an impact. It puts 9/11 Truth all over the place. It is great positioning. It lets people know that truthers are out there. Signs. I have a bunch ready to go for my next blitz around town.

The week was a success. Grassroots efforts are a success if even a few people get bound more closely and a few more join the peaceful organized effort to get the truth out. Public actions like the Week of Truth are precisely what is needed. Congratulations to the organizers and to all who took part in even small ways. Also, it is a success when distracting detractors and infuriating provokers are met with zero or no inflamed response. Now that is cool behavior.

As to signs: Phrasing of banners is crucial. Everything must be done to maximize the awakening of one hundred million or so (safe estimate, I believe) who are poised to join the movement for 9/11 Truth. From now until November is our window. The message must be clear and bold. Black lettering on a white background generates quick comprehension. Statements of fact carry weight. "9/11 was and inside job" is almost certainly true, but not yet a fact. General statements of truth and justice show weakness. This is the worst possible impression to give. Avoid soft statements. This is not some mamby pamby worn-out liberal movement on everything. This is an historic grassroots effort to attack the vulnerable underbelly of a massive corporate / military / banking monster, so hideous that we recoil in horror and disbelief. But we must not. This is good vs evil. Name the crime. give it the emotion it deserves. Murder of thousands in the USA. Murder of half a million in Iraq. A banner along the lines of "The 9/11 murders must be investigated!" or "Neocon story about 9/11 murders is a towering lie!" is preferable.

Nothing against Alten, but I think the choice of The Shell Game was a mistake. It was hard for a lot of us, during hard economic times, to justify the purchase of two copies of a novel that most of us wouldn't read and wouldn't know what to do with. I wouldn't get into a conversation about 9/11 truth with somebody and then hand them this novel to back up my points. :-)

9/11 Contradictions makes more sense on every level, assuming we want to go this route again. I could buy multiple copies of this, and have them on hand to give out to anyone as a follow-up to conversation. This deals with 9/11 squarely and directly in a non-fiction way, not more peripherally in a fiction way. DRG is a knowledgeable speaker who knows to ask the right questions and give the right answers.

This effort bangs up against the same wall that stands in the way of all activist organizations.

Although current use of the Internet has begun the process of breaking down this wall, we need to take it further. People need to be in full control of their organizations. This means they need to be able to decide collectively what those organizations do and how they do it. It is no longer appropriate for the leader activists to set the agenda and make the decisions. When this happens, there will be no more disappointing results when the activist campaign gets under way.

New technology invites us to make decisions democratically in virtual space and time. Nothing henceforth should ever be decided, with respect to what an organization does and how it does it, without providing for the FULL participation of all of the members in the process of decision.

In other words, I am talking about the very same direct democracy that has made the New England Town Meeting the political envy of the world through centuries. New technology invites us to dissolve the practical limits of ordinary space and time that in the past restricted direct democracy to the geographical confines of a small village.

Activist organizations are using the Internet as a communication device. It is as if our brain could only send and receive information from the arms and the legs. But the brain also makes decisions about what the arms and legs must do. THIS is what makes the body a suitable home for the willing soul. All of humanity will develop a collective human soul when it learns to use technology to facilitate decision-making among large groups of people.
