It took a while

Yes, it took Dennis a while longer than I hoped, but he did finally come through. God bless him. Now, if only the media would cover the story- if only the people would get loud and protest- if only our Representatives would do their job rather than worry about their job...
Yes, Dennis did finally come through, but I am not hopeful that anything will come of it. At least he can say he tried.

It's significant in its ability to rouse the nation. We are all waiting for the straw that breaks the camel's back. And any move in that direction is welcome as far as I'm concerned.

This guy is doing the right thing!

So what if the rest of them are too scared or have been compromised to stand up for the Truth. Everyman has to live with his decisions and his actions. Sometimes when you know the people around you are wrong you have to say so. Dennis was the most sincere, smartest, and patriotic Democratic Candidate on the stage. If the election was between Dennis Kuncinich and Ron Paul what a great country this would be, and I would sleep better at night.

Ron Paul Starting 3rd Party Run?

With the Libertarian, Constitution and possible Paul 3rd party taking votes from McCain, Barack "Bilderberg" Obama may be a decisive winner.

But no matter - the only way to bust up the 2 party monopoly is to get an independent 3rd party squarely on the map.

We already had a third party

It was called, "The Democratic Leadership Council."

And they held the Presidency before the current dung beetle.

And their reign just ended.

The other "Third Party" though, the NeoCons, which kind of blurs the lines, is still maintaining an iron-fisted grip on their power.

"D's" and "R's" don't matter it's true.

House to Vote on Sending Impeachment Articles to Committee

House members are set to vote Wednesday on sending articles of impeachment against President Bush to the Judiciary Committee.

The 35 articles were offered by Dennis J. Kucinich , D-Ohio, who has pushed his caucus to do more to challenge the White House regarding the run-up to the Iraq War.

Democratic Party leaders have spent nearly a year and a half reining in their caucus on this topic, determined to show that the party is more focused on getting out of Iraq than on how the nation got into Iraq.

Kucinich argues Bush abused his power “to manufacture a false case for war against Iraq.”

On Monday, Kucinich spent about four and a half hours reading the full impeachment text into the Congressional Record.

Under House rules, the chamber must act on the measure within two days.

Judiciary Chairman John Conyers Jr. , D-Mich., declined to say whether his committee would consider the articles.

Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer , questioning whether impeachment hearings were the right use of time remaining on this year’s election-shortened calendar, defended Congress’ record on confronting Bush.

“This Congress, for the first time since this president has been in office, is holding him accountable, doing oversight in terms of Iraq and Afghanistan, domestic policy, and international civil liberties and civil rights,” said Hoyer, D-Md.

Although many view a referral to committee as a burial for the resolution, Kucinich insisted that “referring it to committee indicates that there should be hearings on this.”

He said the record to support impeachment is “so voluminous and well-documented” that hearings ought to be held.

Kucinich said he and his staff originally put together 60 articles of impeachment but cut that list to what he described as the “most powerful” allegations.

Important ... because it's true.

Exposing to the nation that the regime is criminal in nature, completely out of control of oversight, and that the Democrats are enabling this crime spree is quite important. It shatters the red white and bullshit myth about our system of government. It makes it harder for the mooing morons to ignore that everything they have been told about America is pretty much a lie.

This is not a nation of laws.

House votes to send impeachment resolution to Judiciary Committee

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to send articles of impeachment against President Bush to the Judiciary Committee for review.

The impeachment resolution’s sponsor, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, requested a recorded vote on the motion around 3 p.m. Wednesday, and 24 Republicans joined nearly all Democrats in voting to send the impeachment measure to the committee.

The motion passed 251-166.

“It is imperative that Members of Congress have a thorough opportunity to read the Articles of Impeachment and study the documentation,” Kucinich said in a news release Tuesday. “When they do, I am confident that they will agree that it is both appropriate and necessary for the Judiciary Committee to begin hearings on the Resolution.”

Kucinich took to the floor of the House Monday evening to read his 35 articles of impeachment, accusing Bush of war crimes, breaking his oath of office and misleading Americans to launch an illegal invasion of Iraq. The Ohio Democrat said impeachment was the only way to keep Bush from launching another invasion of Iran.

The Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), already has before it articles of impeachment aimed at Vice President Dick Cheney. Since receiving that impeachment measure in November, the committee has done nothing.

Democratic leaders in the House seem determined to block the latest impeachment measure as well, and it remains all-but-impossible that the House would proceed with impeachment hearings before Bush leaves office.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi is sticking by her earlier pledge to make sure impeaching Bush and Cheney is an option that remains strictly “off the table.”
