NIST to Release Report on B7 via Public Webcast - Thurs, Aug 21st

It seems odd to be using a webcast format for this, but I guess they're expecting all the "internet conspiracy theorists" to tune in.

NIST to Release Report and Recommendations from Investigation of World
Trade Center Building 7

*** Agency Will Hold Public Webcast on August 21 ***

Gaithersburg, Md. -- The Commerce Department's National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a media briefing and live
public webcast on Aug. 21, 2008, in Gaithersburg, Md., on the findings
and recommendations from its building and fire safety investigation of
the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 (WTC 7). WTC 7 was a
47-story building that fell nearly seven hours after the World Trade
Center (WTC) towers collapsed following the terrorist attacks of Sept.
11, 2001.

The NIST WTC 7 report will present the probable collapse sequence for
the building and will provide recommendations for improving building
and fire safety in other buildings similar to WTC 7. The draft WTC 7
investigation report released at the briefing will be open for public
comment through noon Eastern Daylight Time on Sept. 15, 2008.

Shyam Sunder, director of the NIST Building and Fire Research
Laboratory and lead investigator for the federal building and fire
safety investigation of the World Trade Center disaster, will present
the report and answer questions from reporters at the briefing. The
public will be able to view the briefing through a live webcast that
will be accessible from NIST's WTC Web site at

I'll bring the popcorn.....

....but I usually prefer documentaries over science fiction.

At least their is a Q & A

I don't

.think i could eat popcorn with what i am sure will be an overwhelming smell of bulls**t.
I hope Richard Gage will be there to ask our questions, and Dr. Ray Griffin to document.

Famous Quote

"I did not have sexual relations with building 7"

William Jefferson Clinton

I hope Infowars will have somone there to ask questions.

Someone HAS TO ask this question

According to NIST, in WTC 7, "at any given location the combustibles needed about 20 minutes to be consumed" (1). How could a 20-minute fire exposure in any way weaken fireproofed construction steel?

The following ridiculous exchange took place in the NIST conference call last December (I have emphasized the most ridiculous parts):

Bill Grosshandler: "The second thing is, don't forget that once the fire front passes, you still have a lot of -- lot of heat there. So the cool down period following the consumption of most of the fuel is still very, very hot and will last for a couple hours. So, THAT ADDS TO THE HEATING OF THE STRUCTURE. "

Shyam Sunder: "Yeah, and that's a very good point, Bill. The fire front moves, but the heated elements DON'T COOL DOWN."

Sigh. Of course, a cooling steel does not experience further temperature increase!

and even if it did....

how did that cause the rest of the building to collapse when there were 47 undamaged massive steel core columns running all the way up?
Why was there molten steel under all three buildings weeks later?

The Hollywood actor?

"Reporters: Credentialed journalists who wish to register for the
media briefing should contact
Ben Stein, (301) 975-3097, "

Is that the same Ben Stein who played the boring history teacher in _Ferris Buhler's Day Off_? (He writes for neoconservative magazines.)

SWAT team raids home of WAC Central Indiana Leader !!!

Alex Jones needs to know about this too!!!!

why is this being ignored and why negative points? im confused,

am i missing something here? fill me in please! and dont be rude---im just asking

well important information if true is all well and good, but what did your post have to do with NIST releasing their report?

absolutely nothing!

Okay---you got me--and frankly i dont like it when others post items that aren't relevant either!
So, I apologize. However, I do not know how to "post news" myself and I sent it to REprehensor and hadn't seen anything so i thought i'd just add it in the comment section of the last bit of news posted at the time.

Since then, I asked REp. why it wasn't covered yet---what i was missing out on here and he responded to me. And, I guess I have to agree with him. This story really breaks down to a drug charge. HOWEVER, I personally think it is important to follow up on this. I mean for supposedly selling less than an ounce i think earlier that night, the leader of our WAC group has his house broken in by the SWAT team? What the heck!? Doesn't that seem a bit excessive? I just really doubt that if someone else sold a little weed they would be faced with similar situation. I COULD BE WRONG but i just thought it seems he is being targeted for more than a little weed. They way in which these "professionals" handeled themselves while in this man's home---raiding it with two children sleeping in bed pointing guns at them and so on---I just think maybe it is good for us to watch each others backs. You know, look out for each other! I'm not saying anything about pot here. But, a WAC leader has been treated horribly and i think as truthers, we should at least be aware of it. that is all.

Sorry to offend anyone by filling up the endless space provided here with something that does not pertain to the topic posted. Didn't think it was that big of a crime. Next time, i will do my best to figure out how to post news myself.

Thanks for your time--sorry if i wasted it!

you know, god forbid anyone ever add a link to something that isn't directly related to the topic posted.
just wanting to spread info asap isn't a good enough reason to trip up such a system of staying on topic here.

watch 'American Drug War' if you havent yet

Avoiding Mainstream Media/C-SPAN?

Clearly NIST wishes to keep this story as an "internet phenomenon" and out of mainstream discourse.

Any attention to Bldg 7 is bad for them

and any explanation given to explain away the controlled demolition will be woefully inadequate.

I agree....

can't draw to much attention to the OBVIOUS CONTROLLED DEMOLITION.

No Interest In SeekingTruth.

A response team is forming

which will include Dr. Frank Legge, Kevin Ryan, James Gourley, Eric Douglas, myself and others...

I will look to see:
1. Did they address our concerns as published in peer-reviewed papers? Do they reference these papers? (In particular, the Open Civil Engineering Journal paper and the Environmentalist paper...) These are published, refereed papers and cannot be ignored.
2. Do they address the possibility of explosives? Did they look for residues?
3. Did they model the total collapse, or just the initiation?
4. Do they address the corroded/sulfided beam from WTC 7 described and published by Barnett et al? Is the thermite/thermate hypothesis considered?

Thanks, Vic...

Prof Jones......

........Great news! Think you can get Mr. Gage to attend as well? Too bad we could'nt get Danny Jawenko to attend as well. We need to hit them with ALL our experts, and video it.

Good idea

Thanks for your diligence, Prof. Jones.

now the significance of your published papers becomes very clear. These papers cannot be ignored, though they will try.

Leaked document

What about this?

"Leaked confidential NIST documents concerning the investigation into the collapse of WTC 7, the 47-storey skyscraper that was not hit by a plane but imploded in under seven seconds on 9/11, reveal that an "unusual" event preceded the collapse of the building - a "jet of flames" that shot out of several windows after most of the fire had already died down.

The documents - entitled Confidential and Predecisonal Document NIST Report on Building 7 - form the preamble for a long-awaited final verdict on what caused a structurally reinforced building to fall like a controlled demolition despite suffering relatively minimal fire damage."

You can probably have most of your response prepared already from this leaked document.

Thanks go to Brian of

Thanks go to Brian of Richard's team, who passed along the info. He also says:

Spread the word! Best would be to spread the suggestion that people
email architects and engineers and engineering professors passing on
the press conference info and informing them that
will be commenting on the report.

Here's a suggested text.

After many years of delays, the National Institute of Standards and
Technology is finally issuing its report on the mysterious collapse of
a 47-story skyscraper at the World Trade Center on September 11,
2001. Baffling aspects of the collapse include its near-freefall speed,
symmetry, and totality; its tidy debris pile centered on the structure's
center, the presence of molten iron in the basement, and a peculiar
sulfidation attack on the structural steel documented in Appendix C
of FEMA's 2002 report.

I hope you will take the time to watch this webcast, and that you will
visit the website of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth
( for followup information. counts

+7 pts

Hey Rep.
Please remove my 7 pts and add it to this post. I'm just making jokes and these guys are serious.

> These are published,

> These are published, refereed papers and cannot be ignored.

Can't be ignored? Just watch them. Learn from The Masters.

I will state here categorically - no mention whatsoever will be made of those papers. And, absolutely guaranteed, no press person in attendance will bring them up. And if a truth mole somehow tunnels past everything into the Event and brings up those papers directly, the response will be a shrug and a smirk "I'm not aware of this material you're trying to cite. Another questioner please."

I sent NIST our paper,

shortly after its publication in April, and requested to speak to them. They did not directly reply. But they have received the paper.

The response we're planning now is a written one, to address their written report...

Dr Jones

........ I know what you did. You define an American. Thank you!

What will be the next step

if the papers and other evidence are ignored yet again by a NIST investigation?

Court proceedings against the institute?

The next step

I expect that we will use the NIST report, together with a genuinely thorough, scientific response from scientists and engineers of good conscience, to form the next step in educating other scientists, engineers and the public.
